Pilot: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (2) + 16 = 18 urk! used up my mojo with jumping that chasm it seems!
"Whoa!" Jeriko jukes suddenly to avoid the sudden presence of a fighter overhead. He keeps the accelerator fully engaged as the speeder screams through the open canyon, a spikey vertical trail of dust and pebbles chasing behind the fast moving vehicle.

Jeriko cracks a cocky smile and turns around to boast to Desh, only to find the repeater unmanned. Turning back around he's surprised to see a Feeorin's head rather than a Sith's poking up over the grill. "Desh? Screamin' poodoo, Desh, what are you doing up there? Kriffing Mandalorians, thinking they're too good for harnesses. Jerrn! Juce! Can either of you help Desh back into the speeder?"

Camris:
Understood. In light of that, I'll pass on shooting, jink for the pad, and hope I shake this fool off the speeder! =P Sneering at the sith stabbing him but keeping his eyes fixed ahead, Jeriko banks sharply and glides in over the accelerator pad. Just prior to passing over the pad, he recites in a mock, nasally tone, "Please keep all hands, feet, tentatcles, and other assorted appendages inside the speeder at all times. Pilots will not be held responsible for passengers not secured with a safety harness." He winks at the Sith next to him as the speeder glides over the accelerator pad... Camris: Am I making a piloting check either way? One to hit the pad or one to make the jump? Presuming I make the jump with the pad, I'm guessing there's then another pilot check to keep from spinning out of control on the other side? Can I shoot at the goon stabbing me and make a piloting check to hit the pad, or is this a one-or-the-other kind of scenario?

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 Distracted by the sudden appearance of a stealth trooper on the hood of the speeder, Jeriko doesn't pay much heed to anything else other than the deadly arc of the figure's vibroblade. How far back are the dust trails? Presuming they're being produced by cloaked speeders, is there any upcoming terrain where I might try to force one or both into crashing into the terrain by intentionally kicking up a huge dust cloud to obscure their vision? Or is this looking like a straight up balls-to-the-walls racing sprint to the finish?

"You good for nothing bantha-licking sleemos! I was in a courtyard FULL OF SITH and all I got out of the two of you was 'nope, the scanner's clear'. Have you EVER used an instrument panel before?!" Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 Jeriko cuts himself off, cocking his head slightly. "Hold on. I think we're being followed." A devilish grin spreads across his face as he looks to Juce in the adjacent seat. "This is when things get FUN!" He slams the accelerator down into the red and the speeder surges forward with a gut-churning jolt. Pilot: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (19) + 16 = 35

"Mandalorian? Not any more it's not! A trio of Mandos crashed the party a few minutes before the Sith showed up. I didn't get a chance to thank them for bringing us such a nice getaway vehicle." He shrugs, one of his lekku twitching and curling slightly, then grins. "Strap in! Time to take this baby through her paces!"

Jeriko nods admirably as Juce rockets up the wall face. He elbows Desh and indicates Juce with a nod of his head and thrust of his chin, "Guess someone's been watching me. The little tyke's picked up a few tricks!" He then settles back into the pilot's seat and fires the speeder's thrusters back to life. He's rewarded with an almost predatory hum from the engine and he smiles as he pats the dash. "Don't worry, sweetie. I'll take much better care of you."

"No... No, that's ok! You guys take your time up there! I didn't just have to single-handedly fight off a trio of Mandolorians and then a troop of Sith Assassins to save you sorry nerf-herders! I'll.. uhh... I'll just wait right here then. Until you're good and ready. Not like we're being chased by an army of Sith or anything. No, it's ok! Yeah! I'll just wait!"

Courtyard: As the overwhelming number of Sith assassins skid to a halt and look at Jeriko, the twi'lek slowly begins to take a few steps backward. He offers charmingly, "Heh heh, you know boys, I'm sure this is just a big misunderstanding that we're all going to laugh about some day down the -" He bolts then to the Mandalorian's speeder, running up the hood and then slinging into the pilot's seat. Rapdily muttering "Come on... come on," he taps the last few commands of the factory reset into the console unit and with bated breath keys the ignition switch as he smiles and waves at the Sith. Will burn a Force or Destiny point if necessary to fire this bad boy up for a grand getaway!

Seeing Baniss make his escape, then seeing one of the two remaining Sith decloak as he's bowled over by the fleeing doctor, Jeriko smirks. In a flash, he rolls forward onto his feet and thumbs his jetpack to life again, propelling him in a great leap over the speeder in front of him. He lands, skids a half meter in the gravel, and then the scream of a blaster bolt echoes through the air as he takes a shot at the prone Sith. Using that sweet force point I just got since I think the target gets a +4 to his reflex defense for being prone

"Ow! Kriffing Hutt-humping, Sith! That hurt!" Jeriko curses loudly from beneath the speeder before answering Bolt's suggestion, "Get out?! This is just starting to get fun, furball!" He thumbs his jetpack to life for a moment, not to gain lift, but to propel him out from underneath the speeder. He suddenly pops out from beneath and behind the heavily armed vehicle and slides along the gravel for several meters before coming to a stop. As he rockets along on his back, he levels Angeline toward one of his attackers, but holds off on squeezing the trigger until he can see them. Move Action: move out from underneath the speeder, ending 6 or so meters (2 or 3 squares would be great) from the vehicle -- (still prone)

I saw the posts yesterday and meant to respond but got caught up doing my taxes (when did I turn into this responsible adult?!) and forgot to update. Though, before I do dive in, are these schmucks stabbing at me still cloaked? I can see that being problematic for me when it comes to trying to shoot them if they are =P

Out in the Courtyard:
"Bolt!" Jeriko hisses over the coms, "Bolt! You miserable paw-licker, check your scans again! I'm looking at a bunch of Sith in the courtyard here and I don't think they brought cookies for the after-race bake sale." He shrugs then, realizing he's going to be on his own for a while. From the cover of the speeder, he slides Angeline from her holster, takes aim, and snaps off a quick but precise shot at the nearest stealth trooper. I've had a lot of problems with flickr too, where it won't let me or others zoom in at all. I've had a lot smoother experience sharing maps through google than anything else. Might be worth considering if photobucket's got you down. You're just making the maps in a spreadsheet, right? In Google Drive, there'd be no need to upload them as jpegs, you can just share the actual spreadsheet and possibly restrict editting if you don't want anyone else mucking about with it.

Jeriko holds his breath, waiting for another crunch of gravel to betray whatever might be nearby. Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 I'll risk a second roll; if a 13 didn't do the job last time, why not try?
If he doesn't sense anything, he'll hazard a harshly whispered message to Baniss and Bolt. Spoiler: "Baniss! Bolt! I've lost comms with the team inside Motta's and there is some weird freaky-deaky stuff going on out here. Anything coming up on your sensors? Everyone out here is frozen stiff, like they're all in stasis."

Plan? I dunno about you guys, but my plan is simple. 1) Steal this sweet military speeder. 2) Prepare other, less sweet speeders for you fools to also escape in. 3) Laugh at mandos when they come out of Motta's and find a chassis w/ no engine sitting where the sweet military speeder they used to own had been parked. 4) Laugh more. 5) Escape onto the Second Chance by the skin of our teeth after a glorious high speed chase/gun fight.

As Jeriko casually slides back out from under the speeder and back into the vehicle to finish his work, he takes a moment to try and see why nobody's working... Well now, isn't this fun, Jer? Sure it is! Stealing from a Hutt and fleeing the Exchange, and in the middle of all that spontaneously ripping off a pair of heavily armored Mandos who crashed the party? Say what you want about this backwater dustball, you never had fun like this back on Manaan. He cocks his head slightly as he listens to the comm clicks from Desh. ... Did that mean they've been made or that things are proceeding as planned? Either way, I'm stuck under a speeder surrounded by Team Ugly Boots, so it does me little good.

Jeriko grins outwardly at Juce's decision then whispers into the comm, "Does anyone have eyes on them? It'd be slightly awkward if they were to step out of the turbolift just as I was starting to work." Once he gets confirmation that the Mandalorian pair are occupied, Jeriko slides easily into the pilot's seat and begins to work on the security device. A spark of recollection lights his eyes as he recalls seeing the same model device in a senator's speeder back when he and his mother were on Manaan. Precisely recalling the override equation she used to bypass the system, he checks the serial number of the device, runs a few quick calculations, and then inputs the factory override code... Will totally use a Destiny Point here. So awesome.

Jeriko's current plan:

Camris, what do you think about Destiny Points and Skill checks? Could I use a Destiny Point as if rolling a Natural 20 on the Mechanics checks to bypass this sweet speeder's security lock? (Because a Natural 20 is the minimum I'd need to succeed =P) If not, could I take 20 in trying to bypass it? I'm presuming we have more than 2 minutes at this point before Juce starts exploding things and the poodoo hits the vaporator.
