Hey all, Thanks for having us out. Like I said on Facebook, this was easily one of the best cons I've been to in a while. As a GM, I'd definitely go back. All my tables were fantastic.
@Chance - First, thanks for asking this very important question. I'm going to reply as if this were two questions, because our IP and the O7 rules are two different issues. Because Bloodlines & Black Magic is our IP (intellectual property), you would need to work directly with us (Storm Bunny Studios) to create content set in the setting. This is true of nearly all settings and IP - you need to either have a pre-existing agreement (generally a license) or be willing to sign one. The design team has been toying with the idea of a compatibility license for the setting, but that's still in development. Once it's done, we'll need to run it by our lawyers before releasing it. So, the short answer is, likely yes, but not immediately. As for the o7 rules, which are a modification of the core rules used by the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, you absolutely can use those rules without permission - because they already adhere to present Pathfinder Compatibility license. Were we to launch these as a fully new set of rules, they would not be Pathfinder Compatible and then, like all d20-based systems produced by other companies (like the Cypher System or Shadow of the Demon Lord rules), you'd need explicit permission (unless we released them under their own, modified OGL - like Starjammer). @Charlie - This is a Pathfinder compatible product. You'll still need to reference some of the material that is presented in the Pathfinder Core Rulebook (like skills), although all of our new, custom rules (like modern skills) will be included in the book. So while it is not a standalone product, playing it should not be a major issue (all of the custom classes and races/bloodlines) are included in Bloodlines & Black Magic. Cheers!

Hey Chance, Two things: 1) Backers looking to expand their pledges shouldn't need BackerKit, as we're not selling additional digital assets separately. At the $28 pledge level, for instance, you get all the digital add ons. Backers seeking the physical copies should back at that level. If we hit additional stretch goals that potentially introduce additional physical products, we'll likely use BackerKit at that point to aid us in fulfillment. 2) Bloodlines & Black Magic is designed to be compatible with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, which means we won't be generating our own compatibility license or OGL. If we were ever to go that route, we'd essentially be building a new, stand-alone game. If we did, we would likely introduce both an OGL and a compatibility license.

Thanks Kileanna! We're all old school fans of White Wolf's WoD, so this was definitely a project we're all very passionate about. And honestly, who isn't a little interested in seeing some Pathfinder modern?
So for well over two years now, Clinton Boomer and I have been brainstorming and designing (in our free time) a dark, new modern campaign setting for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. We call it, Bloodlines & Black Magic. If you've been itching for some modern Pathfinder, you should really check out what we're building! What is Bloodlines & Black Magic?:
Bloodlines & Black Magic is a campaign setting based on our modern world that pits rich political elites, desperate cultists, supernatural horrors, celestial powers, secret magical orders, and ancient bloodlines in a clandestine war against one another over a reality which nearly all of humanity can neither see, nor comprehend. Hidden from the mundane world, only a rare few individuals ever gain a glimpse of this dimension of horrors, this realm of human tragedy and desperation, learning secrets that – if spoken in public – would mark most of them as insane (or worse). Aligned with secret organizations or working as individual agents, Bloodlines & Black Magic gives these modern heroes a dark universe to explore, painting the canvas of the modern world an even dimmer, decaying grey than it already is. Bloodlines & Black Magic draws liberally from the lore of our modern world, weaving historical facts, modern myths, and secret conspiracies into a supernatural world that could be, if only we had the eyes and patience to pierce the neon-stained billboards which hides it from our view. Steeped in esoteric lore, popular culture, current events, and a connected, global culture, Bloodlines & Black Magic pushes the boundaries of what we think we know, delving through the mirror and into the deeper parts of the human abyss. Hey all, I've had a few folks from other sites (mostly social networks) ask about playing in my campaign setting Rhune: Dawn of Twilight and I'm making a concentrated effort to move that discussion away from places like Facebook (which I find very distracting at times) and wanted to start a thread here to address some of their questions. I'm setting it up sort of like an FAQ (for the time being) and will be checking it bi-weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays). If you've messaged me or asked about something specific, feel free to dive in here! Cheers,
PS... for folks running Rhune, feel free to post about your home brew stories and adventures here! I want to hear about them!
The short and sweet on what it's about: Your group of ælves (or their allies) is working to uncover a disease that is rapidly spreading through Ælveheim. Act 1 is part problem solving mystery, while Acts 2 & 3 get a little "darker" as the PCs turn into something closer to an ælven spy/assault team. I often jokingly refer to it as "Seal Team Six: The Ælven Version." Tacticslion wrote:
Ssalarn wrote: Thanks for the response Jaye! Let me know if you'd like my notes after I post my review- there were a number of typos or other little glitches I noticed that ranged from the hilarious (I think it's the Uruz rune that says the player "starts play a light warhorse"), to the confusing (there's a barbarian Hall that grants damage reduction without explaining how it interacts with the normal DR all barbarians get). SSalarn, Absolutely. This is our first major release and we knew there would be small glitches that got passed us (that's true of every company), but anything we can fix and update adds to the overall quality of the book. So, sure. You can reach me at: jaye@Stormbunnystudios.com.
First, Ssalarn - thanks for the kind words. We worked hard on this and the overall reception it's getting makes us collectively smile. It looks like our hard work is paying off. So again, thanks. The blood song is a specific performance and is not intended to stack with another performance. Sorry if that was somewhat vague. (But hey, that's what errata and an FAQ is for). Cheers,

Adam and Liz, that may actually be the only place that The Rhune: Dawn of Twilight Primer is still available. Honestly, I should probably take it down since everything in that original primer is very dated! For those who do not know what Rhune: Dawn of Twilight is, I'd recommend checking out my website: www.stormbunnystudios.com
Storm Bunny Studios
Storm Bunny Studios is in the final stages of a big Kickstarter project and is currently taking quotes from cartographers for several maps we need to finish up. We have three open quotes out with industry professionals, but we're also open to working with new talent. Likewise, we're always open to working with new writers, especially those interested in steampunk-style material, either for shorter (1200-2000 words) to mid-range (2500-5000 word) PDFs. Writers need to adhere to our style and must meet deadlines. We pay upon delivery (not publication). Our rates vary according to experience, which I will gladly discuss with prospective writers. We always pay upon delivery, generally within 12-24 hours of accepting completed submissions. If you're interested in pitching an idea or sharing your cartography portfolio, please e-mail me at jaye@stormbunnystudios.com
Sheboygan NonCon, “The Quick & Dirty” The idea behind Sheboygan NonCon is pretty simple – drinking great craft beers and playing great games! This February, we’re bringing as many of our local friends together to drink beer, roll dice, and to kill dragons. This is going to be a three-day event, with several tables designated for open gaming, and a loose schedule of pre-planned games. Of course, since this is our first year, we’re playing it pretty loose. We haven’t scheduled any games, nor have we asked GMs to run specific tables. Instead, we’re coming together and just playing some games. While it’s true some GMs are planning ahead for the event (because that’s what awesome GMs do), we’re not posting a schedule of events until we know how many people will be in attendance, how many GMs we’re going to need, and what games they’re going to be running. As for time slots, we’ll be using the space provided by 8th Street Ale Haus from 11 AM to 1:30 AM each day, with the event officially kicking off at 5 PM on Friday and ending at 5 PM on Sunday. During those hours, we’re going to be running games in 5-6 hour slots. We’re going to have roughly eight tables available for play, not including the Card Bar! Our time slots for games are as follows: Friday
Saturday
Sunday
The Tentative Game Schedule Friday – Going Old School! 1st and 2nd edition dungeon grinds, as well as some Pathfinder and a table or two of Numenera! Saturday – Pathfinder Society, old school Gamma World, assorted board games, Dungeons & Dragons (2nd edition), Dungeons & Dragons (5th edition), Numenera, and a Pathfinder Special Event! Sunday – Pathfinder (Rhune), assorted board games, Star Fleet Battles, and whatever else people feel motivated to try or play. *If there is enough participation and interest, we may run a multi-party Pathfinder event on Saturday night.

Well guys, it's been a wild few weeks. I'm back from Gen Con, back in school, and actively writing - because someone has to finish this book. As you might imagine, I'm pretty swamped. So, the good news is that life is getting back to normal. The bad news is I probably won't have time to run this (or any) PbPs. Since not a lot of folks are beating down my proverbial inbox, I'm guessing everyone else is equally busy, too. So, in a few days, I'll just end this campaign and wish each of you well. It's been fun, I'm sorry it didn't work out, and I hope each of you stay in touch. Be well,

Yeah, I suppose it was a bad joke. Of course, as the King of Bad Jokes, it is my royal duty to make them. As for getting things underway, I'm as guilty as the rest of you. I've been running my Kickstarter this month and I've been swamped with that. It ends in five days, however, at which point I'm going to be shifting to Con/School mode. I'll be at Gen Con this August, so maybe it'll be best if we start after that's over, toward the end of the month. That's give everyone time to make characters, read through the material, and so on. And if folks aren't game at the point, we can just call it quits, with no hard feelings on my end. Thoughts? Cheers,

Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that last week, we launched our Kickstarter for the expanded and updated Stormpunk Character Primer and Beyond the Glittering Fane adventure arc. We're nearly at 200% funding and, since launch, have met many of our stretch goals! If any of you are interested in checking out what we've got in store, you can follow the link here. Thanks way in advance for all of your interest and support! Cheers,

Looks good Asmo. We won't be using "Hero Points, however. Instead, we'll be using my variant - Wyrd Points (which do something similar). So just change that from Hero to Wyrd. I'm going to assume your hero is from either far out east (from the raiding colonies of Eastern Val) or from the lands west of the City-States (the Old Holds).
