You intend to wait until 7th level ttake Dragon Disciple?

You can take it at 6th.

Putting aside whether you believe that crossblooded allows me to qualify to take dragon disciple levels

It was FAQ'd, actually.

You're good as long as your GM says so.

What I'd like to see: Let me keep the old version until I have enough funds to buy the new version. I'm level 10, so it should only take a game or two.

^ I wouldn't mind this as well for my large-sized Adamantine Bastard Sword wielder.

Level 5 with virtually no gold, but could probably earn enough in 1-2 adventures.

Silver Crusade 5/5 5/55/5 ***

Just realized that my CORE Paladin has to fork over another +3000gp for his large-sized Adamantine Bastard Sword.

That's going to be difficult, because I doubt I can *use* the sword during the scenarios I'll have to play in order to save up that much gold.

Oh! You were talking about turning him into an Oread. I didn't think anyone wanted to do that. I was talking about creating a new Core Oread PC.

The Chronicle is dated 01/05/16

But I'm not going to print another, so I just lined through it and wrote "17".

If anyone argues it I'll just point them to this thread, Lol

Silver Crusade

[retired]

No feat required. Just 10 Prestige. Or just 5 Prestige, if you play a certain 5-9 scenario where you help out a bunch of Oreads.

I'm thinking Monk. Or two-handed weapon Cleric. We'll see.

Thanks for the game, everyone!

Thanks for GMing! You're one of the best I've had for PbP. I loved the conversations especially.

"The Guardians may know where to find the knowledge we seek. They live, even if they appear unconscious. But we cannot communicate with them."

"You have negotiated with them before. If we revive them, and show them that we have aided them, could you ask them a favor in return?"

Silver Crusade

"Master Westyr! It is good to see you well. This..." Jotunn kicks the remains of the Wisp, "seems to have been the source of the Pech's woes. It looks to have caused considerable damage."

Silver Crusade

Comprehend Languages should still be up for Jötunn.

"Goblins sure are enthusiastic readers."

Jötunn chuckles.

"I can momentarily discern all manner of writing. Finding the information shouldn't be too difficult..."

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

"...for the rest of you. I'm going to drag this lump of evil outside and build a pyre."

Silver Crusade

=P

Coincidentally, I just full attacked, Crit, and Rended the BBEG in another PbP as well. Waiting now to see if it dropped.

Confused at the ease of the creature's defeat, and the momentary appearance and disappearance of the "legs", and the sudden quieting of the loud vibrations, Jötunn simply pauses to breathe.

Then, turning to his companions, he adds, "We should find the information we agreed upon with Reyshal, before the rest of the Guardians wake."

Silver Crusade

Err, 24 with Smite.

I just prefer not to update my stat bar with temporary buffs.

Silver Crusade

[retired]

If Haste is still up, which means my Shield would still be up, then AC 26 misses me. Jötunn has Blind-Fighting, so he doesn't lose his Dex bonus, and the Will-o-Wisp doesn't get the +2 for being Invisible.

If both of those spells have expired, then disregard everything I just said.

--------------------------------------------

Move Action, Detect Evil.

"Your foulness cannot hide from me, creature! Or my sword! This weapon was bestowed upon me by the Great Silver Wyrm, Xandrennus! And by Iomedae's light, I will use it to end you!!"

Swift Action, Smite Evil.

+1 Adamantine Bastard Sword, Divine Favor, Smite: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 32
Damage: 2d8 + 7 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 7 + 1 + 4 = 17

Confirm Crit?: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 25
Damage: 2d8 + 7 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (5, 3) + 7 + 1 + 4 = 20

--------------------------------------------

AC is otherwise 22 w/ Magic Vestment.

Silver Crusade

Even taking 20 Jötunn could never beat that Bluff. Low wisdom Paladin FTW =)

"Indeed. May the Inheritor bless them. And our cause."

It is comforting to travel in the presence of like-minded sincerity. Gnomes never cease to amaze me.

Silver Crusade

[retired]

Jötunn raises an eyebrow.

"I have nothing but respect for the Guardians. I hope that our greater goal becomes apparent to them."

Silver Crusade

[retired]

"The Guardian says that there is another 'invader' beyond these doors. I hope it is one of the missing Pathfinders, but if not, we should prepare..."

Jötunn casts Divine Favor and waits for the group to gather.

Silver Crusade

[retired]

As Numair joins the group near the door Jotunn leaves his post momentarily to run back towards [blue], grab his sword, and return before pushing open the door.

Barely able to see the Pech beneath the snake's coils, Jotunn grimaces. "What a powerful beast."

Silver Crusade

[retired]

Stepping away from the coils of death, Jötunn makes haste to the next set of doors and leans against them.

40 foot speed with Haste means that I just barely need to double move to get there.

"Friend Goblin! Come lend me your knowledge. Perhaps the Guardians have another challenge in store for us. I hear something strange..."

Then, reaching for something behind his back, he curses.

"...and if one of you could bring me my sword I will personally sing you the praises of Iomedae..."

As he gets further and further into the blue-tinged room, the warrior hears a strange faint dissonant humming sound that seems to grow somewhat louder as he nears the southern door.

"What sorcery is this?"

AC is currently 27, Touch 12, Flat-footed 25 with Shield, Magic Vestment and Haste.

Silver Crusade

"This cannot bode well for us."

Jötunn pulls out a lacquered maple wand (move action) and touches it to the serpent (standard action).

Cure Moderate Wounds: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 5) + 3 = 12

2 charges remaining.

Delay.

If [green] goes unconscious, and looks like it needs to be stabilized, I'll come out of delay to move adjacent and Lay on Hands.

Silver Crusade

[retired]

IC's fine. I'm just confused OOC because in your last post it seemed like you were fine with not attacking [red].

Silver Crusade

Why was [red] attacked?

Silver Crusade

[retired]

Jötunn steps over the fallen body of [blue]...

I have shown them grace.

...strides confidently past [yellow]...

I have shown them restraint.

...moves to just 10 feet behind Nagani...

Now I shall show them wrath.

...and lets out a mighty roar, like some fearsome dragon defending its lair.

"End this NOW!! We are not your enemies!!"

Intimidate to Demoralize [green]; I'll add +4 for being larger.

DC=10+HD+Wis: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 4 = 21

Silver Crusade

Jötunn will translate to the best of his ability from here on out, not willing to spill any innocent blood.

Silver Crusade

Blue is already stable.

Silver Crusade

I only have Gauntlets, not Spiked Gauntlets, so no, I can't take an AoO.

Silver Crusade

[retired]

Jötunn sighs heavily at all of the carnage.

My strength is not in my sword, but in my heart.

He kneels down next to [blue], making sure that the two remaining Pech can see the motion. He then draws his massive sword (move action), and holds it next to the Pech for just a moment, before dropping it (free action).

As the sword clangs against the floor, Jötunn leans over [blue] and touches him with a holy light (standard action, Lay on Hands).

Lay on Hands: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4

...And then the raptor eats the pech. Lol.

Silver Crusade

"They say that 'our allies' have broken 'the treaties'. They must recognize us for who we are."

Then, after watching the assault on the lizards, Jötunn grimaces.

"They know not our sincerity. They simply wish to protect their archive. We should show as much mercy to them as possible."

Silver Crusade

[retired]

Jötunn looks up to see the confused looks on everyone's faces.

"Inheritor, bless me with your resolve and grace. Make me appear as sincere as I feel."

Jötunn reaches slowly for a slender steel wand with a rounded bronze tip, but makes no effort to hide the motion. Caressing it gingerly, he activates it.

Comprehend Languages. 49 charges remaining.

Silver Crusade

[retired]

"These must be... The guardians?"

Jötunn steps in only a mere few feet before lowering down on one knee. Gesturing wide, with open palms in a display of pacifism, he bows his head and lowers his gaze to the floor.

"We. Pathfinders. Peace."

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14

Silver Crusade

Immediately before we go in I'll zap my wand of Shield. Even if it's just for a minute, better safe than sorry.

48 charges remaining.

That would just leave Shield of Faith (+3) for whomever wants it. I suggest someone who is a front liner. (Remember that it won't stack with a Ring of Protection)

Doesn't stack with a Paladin's Smite Evil, either.

Maybe Nagani?

Silver Crusade

[retired]

As a frontliner with nonmagical armor, the Magic Vestment would be awesome, too, but only if nobody else wants it.

Also, I'll leave the remains of the deceased Pathfinders with Sorrina so I'm not encumbered for this next event.

"Master Westyr, you said that you have negotiated with these guardians before. I do not wish to harm a creature whose sole purpose is service, but our mission is urgent. What are our chances of gaining their favor in a timely manner?"

Emphasis on "timely", Lol.

Silver Crusade

It just occurred to me that I never prepared my one Paladin spell for the day; guess I'll do Divine Favor.

Air Walk would be amazing, but I'd be interested in anything (other than Sanctuary).

Jötunn beams proudly, "I am no researcher of arcane magic, but the blood of Dragons flows through my veins. Ever since I was a lad I have been able to manifest minor arcana."

When the conversation turns grim, he adds, "Aye, m'lady, although it is temporarily irreverent, I carry with me the remains of Braethin and Setik. Until your voice graced us, we worried that a similar fate had befallen yourself."

Silver Crusade

"Our obligation is to also find these diamonds. They would help Reyshal clear his family's name."

Looking a little dumbfounded, Jötunn adds, "...Is there anything we can do to expedite your research?"

"What year?" The oread thinks for a moment. "Hmm. I'll admit I'm not 100 percent sure. Time's a bit hard to judge down here in Orv. But I'm guessing from you expression it's been a bit. What is it, 4710? 11?"

It's currently 4716 AR. Her expedition left in 4706

"And what do you mean my services are needed again: has something gone wrong?"

Jötunn grumbles as he tries to find the words. He glances at his comrades, as if to signal that he needs support with his explanation.

"Master Westyr, I joined the Society in 4711. That was five years ago."

He pauses long enough to see if his words have any affect before continuing.

"Your absence needed to be filled. A man named Aram Zey stepped in as the new Master of Spells. He held that title honorably for ten years, until recently..."

Jötunn crosses his fingers over his chest in a traditional Iomedaen "Solute to the Fallen".

"Your service is needed urgently. His death was at the hands of the despicable Aspis Consortium."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Jötunn's smile straightens and his head cocks to the side (as much as his full plate allows). His eyes narrow only slightly, and he speaks with purpose.

"You... Are Master Westyr? My apologies. I thought you might be a denizen of this realm. My name is Jötunn of Icestair. The lizard here is Irizati, and this is Forlorn and Numair. We were sent to find you. Your service as Master of Spells is required once again."

Then, as if in afterthought, he adds, "... what year do you think this is?"

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Jötunn clearly trusts everyone he ever encounters =P

Common Knowledge, Take 10

As the group maneuvers around the massive columns Jötunn admires their splendor.

"I'm not one much for being stuffed up in a library, but I wouldn't mind learning how to read these."

As they approach the woman, "An Oread?" He chuckles, "I suppose we were just being hosted by an earth genie."

"She seems like she's almost... Asleep? I wonder if she's seen Sorrina come through here."

Silver Crusade

I haven't really expended any resources. I'm fine continuing, but if anyone else would like to rest I'm fine with that, too.

"My Liege, I feel bound by honor to inform you that there was one thing you left out of the contract. A small detail to you, perhaps, but a benefit worth much, regardless: the pleasure of your company."

Jötunn simply bows his head, his restrictive full plate preventing him from performing the full gesture.

"I can only imagine the looks I will get back home after telling this tale! Having lunch with a genie, a nobleman at that, within the bowels of Golarion. Ha! They'll think I've gone mad!"

He lets out a full belly laugh.

Stoneskin works for me. I can activate it without UMD.

Silver Crusade

Does the item have to be CORE?

My vote would be for a partially charged wand of a 4th level group buff. Air Walk, Good Hope, or some such. Or Cure Critical Wounds, since we don't have a healer.
