James Anderson wrote: What I'd like to see: Let me keep the old version until I have enough funds to buy the new version. I'm level 10, so it should only take a game or two. ^ I wouldn't mind this as well for my large-sized Adamantine Bastard Sword wielder. Level 5 with virtually no gold, but could probably earn enough in 1-2 adventures.

Comprehend Languages should still be up for Jötunn. "Goblins sure are enthusiastic readers." Jötunn chuckles. "I can momentarily discern all manner of writing. Finding the information shouldn't be too difficult..." Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 "...for the rest of you. I'm going to drag this lump of evil outside and build a pyre."

=P Coincidentally, I just full attacked, Crit, and Rended the BBEG in another PbP as well. Waiting now to see if it dropped. Confused at the ease of the creature's defeat, and the momentary appearance and disappearance of the "legs", and the sudden quieting of the loud vibrations, Jötunn simply pauses to breathe. Then, turning to his companions, he adds, "We should find the information we agreed upon with Reyshal, before the rest of the Guardians wake." Edit: ninja'd by 28 seconds

If Haste is still up, which means my Shield would still be up, then AC 26 misses me. Jötunn has Blind-Fighting, so he doesn't lose his Dex bonus, and the Will-o-Wisp doesn't get the +2 for being Invisible. If both of those spells have expired, then disregard everything I just said. -------------------------------------------- Move Action, Detect Evil. "Your foulness cannot hide from me, creature! Or my sword! This weapon was bestowed upon me by the Great Silver Wyrm, Xandrennus! And by Iomedae's light, I will use it to end you!!" Swift Action, Smite Evil. +1 Adamantine Bastard Sword, Divine Favor, Smite: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 32
Confirm Crit?: 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 25
-------------------------------------------- AC is otherwise 22 w/ Magic Vestment.

Stepping away from the coils of death, Jötunn makes haste to the next set of doors and leans against them. 40 foot speed with Haste means that I just barely need to double move to get there. "Friend Goblin! Come lend me your knowledge. Perhaps the Guardians have another challenge in store for us. I hear something strange..." Then, reaching for something behind his back, he curses. "...and if one of you could bring me my sword I will personally sing you the praises of Iomedae..."

IC's fine. I'm just confused OOC because in your last post it seemed like you were fine with not attacking [red].

Jötunn steps over the fallen body of [blue]... I have shown them grace. ...strides confidently past [yellow]... I have shown them restraint. ...moves to just 10 feet behind Nagani... Now I shall show them wrath. ...and lets out a mighty roar, like some fearsome dragon defending its lair. "End this NOW!! We are not your enemies!!" Intimidate to Demoralize [green]; I'll add +4 for being larger. DC=10+HD+Wis: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 4 = 21

Jötunn sighs heavily at all of the carnage. My strength is not in my sword, but in my heart. He kneels down next to [blue], making sure that the two remaining Pech can see the motion. He then draws his massive sword (move action), and holds it next to the Pech for just a moment, before dropping it (free action). As the sword clangs against the floor, Jötunn leans over [blue] and touches him with a holy light (standard action, Lay on Hands). Lay on Hands: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4

Jötunn looks up to see the confused looks on everyone's faces. "Inheritor, bless me with your resolve and grace. Make me appear as sincere as I feel." Jötunn reaches slowly for a slender steel wand with a rounded bronze tip, but makes no effort to hide the motion. Caressing it gingerly, he activates it. Comprehend Languages. 49 charges remaining.

Jötunn beams proudly, "I am no researcher of arcane magic, but the blood of Dragons flows through my veins. Ever since I was a lad I have been able to manifest minor arcana." When the conversation turns grim, he adds, "Aye, m'lady, although it is temporarily irreverent, I carry with me the remains of Braethin and Setik. Until your voice graced us, we worried that a similar fate had befallen yourself."

Jötunn grumbles as he tries to find the words. He glances at his comrades, as if to signal that he needs support with his explanation. "Master Westyr, I joined the Society in 4711. That was five years ago." He pauses long enough to see if his words have any affect before continuing. "Your absence needed to be filled. A man named Aram Zey stepped in as the new Master of Spells. He held that title honorably for ten years, until recently..." Jötunn crosses his fingers over his chest in a traditional Iomedaen "Solute to the Fallen". "Your service is needed urgently. His death was at the hands of the despicable Aspis Consortium." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Jötunn's smile straightens and his head cocks to the side (as much as his full plate allows). His eyes narrow only slightly, and he speaks with purpose. "You... Are Master Westyr? My apologies. I thought you might be a denizen of this realm. My name is Jötunn of Icestair. The lizard here is Irizati, and this is Forlorn and Numair. We were sent to find you. Your service as Master of Spells is required once again." Then, as if in afterthought, he adds, "... what year do you think this is?" Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 Jötunn clearly trusts everyone he ever encounters =P

Common Knowledge, Take 10 As the group maneuvers around the massive columns Jötunn admires their splendor. "I'm not one much for being stuffed up in a library, but I wouldn't mind learning how to read these." As they approach the woman, "An Oread?" He chuckles, "I suppose we were just being hosted by an earth genie." "She seems like she's almost... Asleep? I wonder if she's seen Sorrina come through here."

I haven't really expended any resources. I'm fine continuing, but if anyone else would like to rest I'm fine with that, too. "My Liege, I feel bound by honor to inform you that there was one thing you left out of the contract. A small detail to you, perhaps, but a benefit worth much, regardless: the pleasure of your company." Jötunn simply bows his head, his restrictive full plate preventing him from performing the full gesture. "I can only imagine the looks I will get back home after telling this tale! Having lunch with a genie, a nobleman at that, within the bowels of Golarion. Ha! They'll think I've gone mad!" He lets out a full belly laugh. |
