We houldn't necessarily use up two many spells before going to see him. Arcane sight will last for a minute per level so if you've it casted before entering he likely wont notice unless he has something similar running? -I could see someone (especially someone who trades a lot) not liking people using such magic... could be casing the joint.

I've feats and class features invested in heavy blades but... that flail is too good for someone not to use... might even be so good I may need to bend our benevolent GM's ear towards the subject of retraining (and I do below). It's adamantine breastplate, Rurik or someone else should take it. Iyon would only get +1 DR from it. He'd lose 3 AC as well despite it's enchantments. Rurik would get the full DR 2... due to class choices Iyon is rocking DR3/- (it will stack with Adamantine DR but is on DR2/- for medium). ...that cloak of resistance +2 no one has mentioned yet? I'll put my name into the hat for it or a hand me down +1 if someone is upgrading. If he's wielding the flail I don't think he'll be getting it if someone else is interested. @Something Wicked I might tweak my leveling up choices seeing as that flail is going to have an impact if he gets it. At level 8 he can ditch a previously chosen combat feat (sadly this will be armed bravery) and replace it with another combat feat (Weapon Focus). Instead of taking Improved Critical Tetsubo he'd take Weapon Versatility:

I had half forgotten how unusually high Iyon's will save is for a fighter. Effort has been made! +2/Base+2/Wisdom+2/Iron Will+1/Auspicious Tatoo+3/Armed Bravery Sash of the War Champion is boosting his Bravery bonus by one and Armed Bravery is then making it apply to all Will saves not just Fear ones when he has a heavy blade in hand. I like keeping defense solid but I get the feeling I should invest in a little offence for a while.

Getting less mechanical on it I like the approach they have in the Dresden Files universe, residences have a "threshold" in it. A business doesn't have one because strangers and constantly going in an out. A bachelor pad has one but it's weak compared to a family home. It's something that just comes into being over time. I wouldn't regard the average adventurer's tent as a private residence... but a character who is a more traditional nomad or someone else who regards their tent as a home and not just a piece of gear? I'd be more receptive for that to count as a private residence. A vampire not being able to enter a knights pavillion or a nomad's yurt. A magnificent mansion would work a bit better in this regard than a secret hut.

He can fairly consistently take out two skeletons a turn and they aren't a huge threat to him with his damage reduction. Haste would bump it to three a turn... If you've got something better to cast or do with your turn do it.
