Even has her inside starts melting, Iris goes on trying to disrupt the menhir magic, trying to say magic words in the reverse of what was used in the ritual and words of power that do the inverse of the ritual.

Iris manages to evades a part of the blow but in doing so, she is unable to finish her spell.

I was afraid of that, full round spells are a bit useless in Starfinder against intelligent enemies.

The android moves closer to the menhir and starts using some mystical formula trying to unravel the magic containing it.

Move to get in range then using the option to damage the menhir using Mysticism. Using one resolve point to trigger surging nanites and get a +2 racial on the check.

Iris is fine with resting a bit. She looks around for a way to recharge her super-capacity battery, not very confident there’s a way here.

She spends the rest of the night and her shift to look at personal projects, and tries to communicate with the spirit in her. She wonders if it will still be there the next day.

Iris has still 2 level 2 spell, has an ability to cast an extra spell, and another to drain a battery to cast another. I think she’s fine on that front. Not sure one level 2 spell is going to make a difference.
She also has plenty of RP left to stabilize.

As she puts her medkit back in her backpack, Iris replies a bit for Iteration-177 as she tells “I believe he also has managed to contact one of the spirit here. Anyway, the Mentrasi believes that destroying the obelisk would be the only way to free them from the state they are trapped in.
Thought Aravon is right, as there is still plenty of unanswered questions, like how did he end up here, and in this state.
” She’s looking at the android, wondering if she’s going to end up the same way; which she is not looking for. She adds, with a genuine interest, “What makes your body so unique?

Iris looks at Iteration-177’s wounds in shock “We should be healing you, you are in a very bad shape. How did you end up like that?”.

She starts getting her medkit out while trying to communicate with the spirit to see why it is reacting like that.

As she sees no way to confirm the identity of the android, she moves closer with her medkit, trying to see if she can treat his wounds.

If Yarameh’s check fails, Iris will use magic energy from her spells, spending 2 of her level 3 2nd level spells. I can cast at least one more 2nd spell using spell cache, so that’s fine.

I remember that in some cases, it’s more interesting to roll separately than try to aid.

In that particular case, rolling once and adding aid, odds where at 65% while rolling separately they were 67.82%.

Iris grabs the super-capacity battery she built, her engineering tool kit, and starts trying to connect the battery to the computer. She asks her companion for advices.

I was going to have Iris cast transfer charge emptying her super-capacity battery, but the spell says it only works for two objects of the exact same type, which is not the case.
I put the roll in spoiler, as I’d like some aid if possible.
Use 1RP for Surging Nanites to add a +2.

I think you are correct, but they also seemed to not agree on what to do about him.
The mentrasi also said he did not want to talk about religion.

Iris looks at the floor and after using one of her tool kit, she tells the party “Those are piles of dust are the remains of Mentrasi”.

After reading the document, Iris starts looking at the ritual, and cross referencing it with her library chip. She tells the other “That ritual probably didn’t work unless they expected more that their current condition. It might have gotten worse since they did it. Or maybe the gap caused them to forget about themselves? The eoxian seems to have managed this kind of transition better.

Iris adds “The spirit gave me direction to Xaharee. There’s a hidden door beyond the glyphs. I know how to open the passage.
The Mentrasi seems tired of having tried to communicate with us, it seems dormant for now. I propose we go to the room with the glyphs.

She waits to see that everyone is ready to go before going there, giving directions.

Iris points out in her usual strangely calm tone “If the creature did possess me and controlled me completly, don’t you think it would tell you that everything is fine?
Anyway, this is more of a merging than possession. I am also able to understand and speak the language of the Mentrasi. I am going to communicate in their language with the creature.

In Mentrasi:
Iris tries to remember all she can about first contact, after all she is a member of the wayfinders.
She tells aloud in Mentrasi: “Hello I am Iris, an android. I am a member of the Starfinder Society. The society is dedicated to exploring the universe, and reporting their finding for others. I would like to know more about your culture. One of the member of the society came here and took the Tear. Do you have any information about that?” Depending on the answer she gets, she might mention that the Society went to the Scoured Stars and made enemies with the Jintsul, but not before asking the creature about them first.

Iris tells what the spirit is asking, that it wants to bond. “It could be a way to gain control of one of us for a nefarious purpose. It seems similar to what we have seen the elemental do.”

Iris starts looking into her mysticism library chip to find hints that the possession would not be permanent, hoping the undead is patient and has time to wait for the team to come to a conclusion.

Using the library chip to take 20, that usually takes 2 minutes, for a total of 30 Mysticism.

If she does not find anything that would make her think she should not try to bond, she will tell the party, “I am willing to take the risk, but be wary of what could happen.” Then she goes in front of the creature and makes signs to it, trying to point inside her.

Iris calmly tells the creature she is casting a spell to understand it, before casting comprehend language. “I should be able to understand it, but they will not. That should help trying to communicate a bit.

To Sthiele, she will reply “This is not a Jinsul, I encountered them during the mission in the Scoured Star.

Barin, who everyone had forgot about as he was following the group, also tries to communicate. He points out “If no one recognize this creature, this might be a first contact”.

Iris offers to bandage her companion, but aside from minor concussion, she finds no major trauma. She then spent time trying to calibrate some instrument to detect undead.

Iris finishes up her spell as the small fire elemental appears on the other side of one of the elemental with red gems.

The creature immediatly tries to burn its closest foe.

A smiling human with a starfinder insigna and neatly cut brown hair joins the group just before the ship departs. He is just carrying a backpack with no weapon. A bit out of breath, as he had to run to get there in time, he presents himself: “I’m sorry for being late.” He watches his comm unit to see the time, “Well, almost on time. Everyone, I’m Barin.” He adds, with a smile toward the android,“Once again, Iris requested my assistance for this mission. I only have social skills, don’t expect me to do anything else beside hiding in case of trouble.”

Every day, after waking up, Iris does a routine maintenance check of the ship, both computer and physical. After that, she spends most of her time either reading about science or magic, or working on various projects.

Barin, is mostly working on learning a new language, he’s trying to learn a new language and has trouble with pronunciation, so he seems to be repeating the same phrase over and over.
He’ll try to have a discussion with each other Starfinder, presenting himself and trying to learn more about them.

Iris seems embarrassed by the show of affection from Aravon but hugs him as best she can. She tells him “If I were following the tradition of some androids it would be Iris-1 but I’m not ; just call me Iris please.

The android seems out of word to reply to Ceolor’s compliment. Having heard him tell that the card contains a way to get to a holonovel, she will tell him flatly “I do not read fiction.”, not realizing that might hurt him. She still takes the card and touch it to gain access to the coordinates before tucking it into a pocket.

When people talking in a language she does not understand, she starts wondering if she should cast comprehend languages.

As Jadnura is trying to explain why the mission is a secret, she is looking intensely at him, trying to detect any hint of lying, while thinking that does seem a plausible explanation. At the same time, Elsebo was never acknowledged by Guidance.

While Celeor is downplaying Jadnura’s fault in the incident, she’s thinking hubris would make him responsible, especially if he put aside any caution when planning the operation. I wasn’t there to know first-hand.

Once Jadnura has replied to the other’s question, she will ask the First Seeker. “Isn’t there other starfinders that have gone to Kukanou-2b when the society was looking for a way to help those trapped in the Scoured Stars? Would no one else got there in the meantime?

Iris looks like a human female with fair skin, blonde hair and electric blue eyes. The way she acts, often pausing, looking at people, and the occasional blue light under her skin is what marks her as an android rather than a human.
She’s wearing her usual clothing when she arrives, a lashunta tempweave armor. She only has a pistol and a survival knife as her weapons. The rest of her stuff, including all kinds of tools, is inside her industrial backpack. All her clothing and equipment are clean and looks new or very well maintained.

Upon arriving and seeing Jadnura, Iris relaxes a bit, but it is almost imperceptible.

She presents herself, looking at everyone but Jadnura as she expects to be known to him. “I am Iris. I’ve studied many scientific fields, and also magic.” She activates her society subdermal graft and the society’s symbol glow under the palm of her hand.

She’s surprised at the half-orc starting shaking hand and tries her best to match his greeting, watching how the other replied to it. “Nice to meet you both.” she replies, looking at Avaron and Smiley.

Coming back from Akiton with a gift of UPB from the people of Tasch for her help rebuilding the town, Iris is wondering what to do with it.

The female human looking android immediately reads the message, stopping completely her motions, the way only an android can. She wonders what this mission is, and why the secrecy, and if it might be a trap.

She grabs her backpack with her tools, puts her survival knife and pistol in their holster at her hips, and heads toward the location in the Lorespire Complex, walking while reading the latest station news in her mind.
