Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Sorry real life ganged up on you. You ran a good game, and good luck in the future.

It has been fun, but I am going to drop out.

PBP I don't think is really for me. Between the power-tripping unfair GM in the oher game I tried and this GM poofing without warning it just doea not appeal to me as a player anymore.

Sorry to see you go, mate. It was an honor being your cousin.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

The GM's gone dark in the other game I'm in of his as well. I think he's having technical problems.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak writes down a list and hands it to the shop keeper.
Do you carry these items?

I say bot him for a spell.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1
GM Wasteland Chronicler wrote:
Eager for the meat grinder lol? Make your shopping lists, and then we'll proceed!

my shopping list is in the discussions thread

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

I'd rather skip the shop rp and get into the meat of the story

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

should we rp the shopping trip or just wrap it up, take a nap, and get this party started?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak is no stranger to the ravages of the Mana Wastes but he never likes to see good people so afflicted. Especially since he knows that as a caster in the Wastes, sooner or later they would take their toll on him as well.
It's a pleasure to meet you, sir. If you have something for me to write on, I'll make a list of what I'm looking for. I lost a good deal of gear on my last trip.

Tumbleweed of the Apocalypse sounds like it belongs in a Final Fantasy game

SQ: Evasion, Ambush
Skills: Stealth +10, Tumble +10

I feel it should also have DR 5/ slashing

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

*tumbleweeeeeed*

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

I'd like a quick shopping trip, then a nap, then we can get this party started

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

I hate to delay our mission longer than necessary but we probably should spend one more night here to replenish our strength before setting out

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

I shall rend the buttock of many a wasteland monster with such an axe.
also I have a preliminary shopping list
air crystal
alchemical solvent
blood block
smelling salts
smoke stick
tanglefoot bag
thunderstone
crowbar
shovel
composite longbow +0
standard arrows
blunt silver arrows
cold iron arrows
silver mace
cold iron axe
caltrops
weapon straps

EDIT: Ok so I keep editing the list and now it's less of a preliminary shopping list and more of the batman kit all my characters get.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak runs his hand over the auto-axe. Checks the edge on the axe heads, gives the blade a spin.
This is a fine weapon and a fine selection. Little Alkenstar seems well prepared to defend itself. So few towns are. I accept this gift and will put it to good use.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Cache first shop second

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

so what's in that there weapon chest?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

GM, does this town have a adventurer's boutique? Now that I have a little extra cash there are a few things I'd like to pick up. I can provide a list if you want to decide what the town does and does not have available.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

I'd think in a pbp it would be easier to let the GM make the random encounter rolls.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

My name is Imak Kandi. Thank you for helping us. It seems the least we could do to repay you would be to help you in return.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak reaches his hand toward the dragon fly uncertainly

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak bows to the noble woman
You are to generous my lady. The knowledge that you are safe is sufficient reward. I hope the rest of your day is less eventful.

Turning to the sheriff
Thank you sir. If you will give us a moment, I would like to thank the construct for it's help.

Imak walks over to FIDO
We owe you a debt my friend. Is there a way we can repay you?

We are waiting for a reply from the GM as we were attempting NPC interaction..we are not ignoring the bot, we are still back one round after the death of the ghouls.

That thing he said

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

I will eventually, but right now I'm more focused on making sure the woman that got attacked is ok. In character, I don't care about the bug flying around my head until I know the civilians are safe. If the woman took off during the fight then I'll turn my attention to the bug-bot.

I'd like to third the comment on the descriptions--very neat, very awesome! The whole thing is very interesting, and I'm sorry to have slowed you guys up--last couple days have been quite busy.

Because of you I've actually had to do work while at work! :)

Volk "The Breaker" wrote:
I enjoyed it greatly! Your descriptions of the battle were the most enthralling part, simultaneously taking into account the desires of the players and making the actions make sense in a spacial context via imagery. I applaud you, Chronicler.

Seconded.

Also, the lazurite monsters are definitely something i'd like to spring on my home group. Great design on those guys.

And I like the plot hook to go reboot Unimatrix's character.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak watches Volk's interaction with the floating sphere with cautious interest. It seems to be ok for the moment so Imak looks around to find the woman. He starts to walk over to check on her, then remembers he is covered from head to toe in mutant goo. He casts create water above his head to clean up a bit before walking over.
Are you ok ma'am?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

style roll: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Imak take a moment to catch his breath once the mutants seem actually dead. He takes a moment to wipe some of the blood out of his eyes and surveys the seen. He snaps out of his respite when he sees Gruthrak in the dirt. As he rushes over to his kin he thinks, I keep telling him to learn to duck, dammit.
He kneels down and begins casting.
cure light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
And you were worried this would end up like the water caravan. He says grinning as Guthrak regains consciousness.
He turns to his companions How is everyone else feeling?
kn: arcana: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 do we need to do something specific to make sure they stay dead this time?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

here's hopin you make your reflex saves

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

robo-reinforcements!

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

fort save's a few posts up
Imak snaps to attention as he sees Guthrak fall to the ground.
I keep telling him to learn to duck.
He rushes over to his cousins side and starts casting a spell
cure light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Smiling, he says
See, this didn't turn out anything like the water caravan.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
in my home game we've just multiplied so long that i don't even remember to ask the gm's preference any more. can i assume that since no objection was raised, multiplication is fine?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

fortunately, i've got cure light so i can get you back in the fight

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

I promise to pickle my liver in sacrifice tonight if I can kill it in one swing.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

That +10 deflection bonus makes me feel less good about the crit I just rolled.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak has seen what these mutants can do when they fuse. As long as he drew breath, this town would not suffer the same fate as so many others. He feels the familiar burn of the Lazurite Radiation, but his health is not the priority at the moment.
fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 gods help us if that save fails
Imak turns to face the final mutant. At this moment, he does not know fear or pain, he only knows burning hate for these monstrosities.
power attack: 1d20 + 3 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 1 = 20 and that's why i brought a falchion to the fight :)
crit: 2d4 + 2 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 + 3 + 4 = 15 x2=30

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

WOOO! Spoilers!

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

So you rolled something behind the screen for us and only the half-orcs rolled 1s? I smell the distinct odor of RACISM!!!!1!1one

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Of course not, you're a half-orc of SCIENCE!

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

A sin of the first order, my good doctor :)

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

GM's eyes only:

I assume they have began the melding process on their last turn and the barrier is already in effect? Also, can I interject a free action at the top of the order to shout to everyone to keep the mutants from merging?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak wheels around as blood flies and his foe falls. His mind flashes back to the first night he picked up this blade. He forces the memory from his thoughts as he notices the remaining mutants doing something to the largest. He lunges towards them as he remembers his studies to try to figure out what these creatures are doing
knowledge: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 i've got the same rank in arcana, local, and nature. so whichever you feel is appropriate

Imak carries the sword low as he moves, the tip leaving a track in the dirt as he prepares for an upward strike.
power attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18 attacking anything that's still standing after everyone else has gone
dmg: 2d4 + 4 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 + 2 + 3 = 15

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Sprinting to the mutant has gotten Imak's blood pumping. His orc half boils to the surface as his weapon flashes in the sun. His eyes burn with a righteous fury and he lets out a feral roar as he swings with all his might. This is the purpose for which he trained his body and soul. At this moment, his only purpose for existing is to protect this woman.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 4 - 1 = 19
damage: 2d4 + 4 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 4 + 2 + 3 = 15
breakdown- weapon dmg + 1.5 str + hulking reaver + power attack

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Sorry, very busy weekend.
Imak runs to the closest gnoll to himself and draws his sword.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

So the initiative roster so far is:
Araden
Doc
Volk
Me

@TSP: Are the gnolls just gonna go after us, or will you insert them into the roster accordingly?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak grabs his sword and bolts for the door
initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
...er... Imak grabs his sword and saunters to the door

I don't think I'm carrying anything magical, although the exact nature of my special item is determined by the GM. If I draw a revolver on the half-orc who's looking at me funny, do any bullet holes show up? ;)

Damn, I knew I shoulda taken the bullet proof trait :)

And what kind of holy half-orc would Imak be if he didn't make sure you weren't suffering from a lingering Mana Waste ailment.
Though I'll admit to being as curious out of character as Imak is in character about your behavior. I guess I'll just have to stick around and watch for character development.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

If I do a bit of detect magic on my good friend Araden do any funky auras show up?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak looks at Araden with a quizzical expression
Can orcs do quizzical, or do they just have a sliding scale from scowl to grimace?
You don't seem overly sure of your name, friend. Been spendin too much time in the wastes? HAHA!
Imak turns back to the shieldmarshal.
I'm Imak Kaandi, in service to Cayden Cailean. It'd been my honor to defend your town.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor 1

Imak knocks back the offered shot without hesitation
Thank you kindly
As his companions turn down their drinks, Imak is happy to pick up their slack and takes their drinks as well.
He picks up the device, turns it over in his hand,, shakes it by his ear, sniffs it...
I got no idea what this damn thing is
He tosses it to Doc.
What do you make of this?
