I believe we're starting inside a manor. Dressed in similar armor, Iladora nibbles a sweetmeat cautiously. Urgathoa bestowed on her a nearly constant hunger before, but now if she eats too much the hunger goes away-- a strangely empty feeling. Her straight hair, black as jet, falls to her shoulders, pointed ears poking out from it. Behind her back is a large axe and longbow. At the sight of Wylka's holy symbol, her fingers flex. The scene plays out instantly in her head-- dropping the food as she pulls her scythe, flying toward the man and cutting him down where he stands. Instead, she takes another bite. Not a scythe, an axe. And I've lost my wings. Strange to think the goodly priests are now my allies. "Iladora," she says by way of introduction. "Hunter." -Posted with Wayfinder

In your profile you mention that one of the rolls you make for us, unless specified otherwise, is Survival. Which is fine with me. Just a reminder that as a ranger I get a +1 to Survival when following tracks, or a +2 regarding undead. Name: SodiumTelluride
Iladora was once an antipaladin in the ranks of the army of Urgathoa, goddess of undead. A demon herself, Iladora was summoned to the Material Plane by a hopeful spellcaster to compete for him in a tournament. Forced by the summoning spell, Iladora went. She was forced to team up with a group of other competitors, two of which had been instrumental in spoiling the return of the lich-king Tar Baphon, whom Urgathoa had hoped would herald in a new age of undead dominance on the Material Plane. The goddess was furious that one of her own was forced to help them, and when Iladora was killed in the tournament and sent back to the lower planes-- without taking any of the others with her-- Urgathoa stripped her of her titles and powers and subjected her to one torture after another. Desperate, Iladora used what influence was left to her to send a message to any of the goodly gods willing to listen. A servant of Pharasma agreed to help, on two conditions: that Iladora pursue and destroy undead wherever they are found; and that she give up the use of Urgathoa's favored weapon, the scythe. Iladora agreed, and with the Pharasmin's help she escaped and fled to the Material Plane, now incarnated as a half-elf. Mortal, powerless, and with no resources available to her, she joined the Silver Crusade faction of the Pathfinder Society in the hopes that doing enough good works would help her avoid being sent back to the lower planes upon her eventual death.

Save your spells, Alric. I've already made a new character. Being the only evil PC is too hard haha. Alric: You crouch by the demoness's dead body, chanting the healing words. In your mind's eye, you can see Iladora's soul quickly descending back to where she came from. Come back, the spell says. She reaches a hand toward you, rising again. Yes, she seems to respond. Suddenly, a large hand reaches out from the depths. Not this time, it says in a guttural voice. Iladora's expression of hope turns to fear. She screams in a far-away voice as the hand pulls her back down into the blackness...

Just to be clear about the order of events, the "fight" happens before we get into the room. Iladora holds her scythe at the ready, though if the girl attacks she isn't sure what use it'd be. This girl keeps getting more interesting. Is she a naga? A sorceress? "If only I'd done as much as you have," she sneers. "Caught with your diaper down at the first illusion spell we come to. You should learn not to threaten my kind, or you may find your afterlife more unpleasant than most."

Only as it crushes the life from her does Iladora recognize the spell effect for what it is. Huh. Done in by a stupid trap. As her vision of the ceiling fades to black and she is forced to release her grip on the Material Plane, it occurs to her that this might be the least of her problems. Urgathoa will probably punish me for sheer stupidity, she thinks to herself as she falls through the blackness back to the familiar Lower Planes. Such a golden opportunity to spread chaos among the living, and I fell victim to a spell trap. Suddenly, she feels herself called back to the Material Plane. She returns to her body, lying on the cold floor, and inhales sharply. Standing over her-- as much as the small man ever could-- the little halfling pours healing energy into her. He... brought me back? The Tar-Baphon destroyer brought me back? She wants to laugh at him for helping a demoness like her. To scorn him for being naive. To spit in his face for forcing her to accept his help and giving her goddess even more reason to punish her. To thank him for giving her another chance. Instead of doing any of those things, she grabs her scythe and uses its haft to help her onto her feet. "Got the key," she says shortly.

I seriously have the worst luck with that spell... Since the target has to fail 2 different saves, it's not considered very useful-- but this is my second character to die from it. ::sigh::
