I have a backstory but I would love to see what people think of her and what she looks like

Bomber Alchemist CN
STR 11
DEX 16
CON 12
INT 20
WIS 14
CHA 10

Kor'aelaewyn grew up in an isolated tower in a far off forest with her father, and alchemist named Fi'avel. She spent most of her younger years studying languages, and the art of alchemy, much preferring the library to the forest outside. But when supplies grew low she begrudgingly ventured out to hunt. Once when she strayed further than usual from the tower, she was attacked by a large brown bear that left her with four large scars slashed across her right side, and a deep fear of the animal.

She adores anything magical, loving to study new things she finds. While not religious herself, she has a deep respect for people who would command the power of the Gods. One year ago, he died in an unfortunate incident when and experiment went wrong, exploding, killing him, and destroying most of the tower. She then decided to set out in search of her mother, whom she had never met, Fi'avel had never spoken of her, only to say that Kor looked much like her.

She is very wary of strangers, having known only her father almost all her life. As she had no money when she entered the civilized world, and not trusting the people who offered her work, she quickly turned to a life of thievery, using her alchemical skills to break into all sorts of places.

As her social skills are somewhat lacking, when she is confronted her knee-jerk reaction is to throw a smoke bomb and run, even if she is not at fault. She tends to trust those who understand magic, alchemical arts and the hunt for knowledge more easily than those who don't. Physically she is very quick on her feet, but this means she is also very flighty. She is always on the lookout for any kind of trouble.
She is very intelligent but has a lot of trouble speaking up, which leads her to often only speak in a whisper. She tried her best to avoid large crows and cities, only venturing into them when she is in need of money.

Hi, I'm currently playing a straight hunter in an undead campaign. What I have done is that my character is using a reach weapon (dwarven longhammer) it is blessed silver, which overcomes the DR etc.

Spells I find useful are as follows, as well as some that you might find useful for wildshape

level 1

lead blades for extra damage on my weapon
snowball is also good if you want a ranged option
faerie fire is useful for the invisible creatures you will come across
obscuring mist can be useful for battlefield control

level 2

bloody claw
lockjaw
ironskin to buff my AC
windwall can also come in handy to stop ranged attacks and possibly ghosts? you will need to checkyour dm on this. sometimes they count as gas.

level 3
magic fang, greater
daylight bothers some undead
strong jaw will increase damage on one of your natural attacks

if you don't have a healer, take the cure spells and the restoration spells.

The druid guide (https://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AcNyxDTKvAmqZGRtZzhzdjZfNDZnNHpzcmdodA& amp;hl=en) has a evaluation of druid spells which should help you out. Most of the advice should be useful to you since you are using wild shape.

my feats are based around my companion and tripping so I don't thirnk they will be useful, but power attack is never a bad choice.

Edit: I am playing as a dwarf which is how I can use the dwarven longhammer. Dwarves give boosts to wis and str (which are your main abilities other than con), and dumps cha which is not important for a hunter. it also has some good traits that i find useful like darkvision. the alternate trait fey thoughts is also cool for getting some more class skills.

I am playing a level 5 hunter. I have 800 gp. undead campaign. i have a dwarven longhammer, a scimitar, and a wolf companion. what do i buy? dm says i can get my hammer to be blessed silver for 180. but what else? some kind of ioun stone?

SHE SAID YES.

so what kind of feats should I get for it?

our cavalier has a wolfhound so hopefully she will agree to the hippogriff.

I think a hippogriff is probably more applicable, because of the setting (based in innistrad) and that we are in an undead campaign so low con is not good.

edit: i don't think she would allow a griffin

The only options under monstrous mount are griffin, hippocampus, hippogriff and worg. How do I get a Roc?

I currently have a wolf companion, I was wondering if it is worth it to take monstrous mount (level 5 feat) to get a hippogriff companion, and then at seventh level take monstrous mount mastery to be able to ride it while flying?

I'm using a reach build.

Are there any druids in the list? I looked but if there were any they must have slipped my gaze.

So there is a fair chance I might die next session, so I was looking at what I might do for my next character and decided that alchemists are pretty interesting, and a few archetypes caught my eye, mainly being bramble brewer and beastmorph. Would it be good to use both archetypes? Are they even any good? Also, I'm wondering how they would work together.

I am going from level 4 to 5. Any recommendations for optimising her?
I have a wolf companion.
Current feats are:
Combat expertise
Outflank
Combat reflexes
Pack flanking

I am aiming for a flanking build, I use a silver dwarven longhammer with lead blades on it.
I use iron skin on myself.

What feats and spells should I take this level? We are in a undead campaign so I'm mostly fighting evil things.
Someone mentioned a brawler multiclass at one point but I can't remember what it was, or why I should do it.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Luckily one of my friends is starting a campaign and is willing to let me play one, now i just have to decide between a bard and sorcerer.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yeah, there are feats needed before the faerie dragons can fly

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If I end up playing as one it would be as a bard or a sorcerer.

I'd also get the source book.

so I was just browsing d20pfsrd and I found this 3pp race. I'm not an expert so I was wondering how balanced it is as a player character?

I have 13 int so I got combat expertise as my first feat. would taking it at fifth be okay? you get 2nd level spells starting at fourth, and some hunter abilities.

Thanks for the help, I might go with lockjaw, it might come in handy.

at what stage do you think I should splash the brawler level? We are leveling from 2-4 so I could do it now if you think thats a good idea?

I am using a dwarven longhammer to combat reflexes is a good option. What about second level spells?

I am also wondering what to take for my third level feat, I currently have combat expertise and outflank.

So I am playing a dwarven hunter with a wolf companion focusing on flanking. what spells should I take for level 4? I was thinking ironskin (my ac is only 16), but what other spell? There are so many i'm a little overwhelmed.

Thanks so much for all the advice but I don't think I'm going to play in the game. It seems like the game isn't likely to last (people moving and it being close to exam time). The Gm is not very flexible with what I am trying to do and I don't really want to play if i am not going to enjoy it.

But I am now very interested in witches and may have to try one out some time.

what is the warpriest like? would that be a good option?

I do really like the whole nature magic and wildshape, what other classes would let me do this? preferably a full caster.

Alright, so it's because he doesn't really understand the class or summoning, he is fairly new to running a game himself so he doesn't want to use things he doesn't understand.

He would prefer if I stuck to the core classes, all archetypes and stuff are okay though. I like the whole nature aspect which is why i really like druids. I want to play as a caster type, but i want to be able to fight too, which is another reason i like druids as they have the whole wild-shape thing. I'm already playing a hunter in another campaign. He also said that it's not all urban, we're going to end up in dungeons/crypts and mountains within 5 levels. We're starting at level 1.

I'm going to ask him again about what exactly he doesn't like about druids.

So I'm joining a game that some friends started last weekend. The party make up is currently a rouge/bard, a fighter and a wizard. The gm is 'encouraging' me to play a cleric or paladin.

I don't really want to play either of those classes, clerics confuse me and seem rather complicated and i don't want to play a lawful character. I would like to play a druid but the gm hates them for some reason that he can't explain. The setting is typical fantasy with a little urban. I think they want someone to play a healer, but I don't want to just be a bandaid the whole time. Any advice?

That will be my next purchase. I had the oracle do the burial rites, he has gone to a better place than the godforsaken world we were traveling.

I think I will go with a wolf, it fits well with the whole theme of the area pretty well so I think it's a good bet. What feats should I be looking at getting for it?

I'm a level 1 dwarven hunter and in the first session an enemy got a crit on my lion and then coup de grace'd him. I'm a little stuck on what animal companion to get next. We are playing a game based in Innistrad(mtgsalvation.gamepedia.com/Innistrad_%28plane%29) I am looking to focus on flanking as a combat style. I would appreciate any suggestions, no dinosaurs, and it has to be something that I can find in a darkish forest.

She is going to let me change to unchained rouge, are there any archetypes from rouge that I should use with it?

I'm going to ask today, hopefully she is cool with it

I don't think my GM would let me switch or modify the class itself. I was looking online, Would slashing grace work? I don't mind just doing one weapon. Or should I just use agile?

So I have started a game, my GM is using the innistrad setting/story. It's a similar setting to carrion crown for those who don't know. She is changing it over to pathfinder from dnd.

I am playing a ninja, we rolled for scores and I got 13,16,14,13,9,16. I'm a human, normal traits. Feats are Dodge and Weapon Finess: Wakazashi's.

I'd like to do two weapon fighting, so would be at the front a lot. We also have a soundstriker bard, drunken monk, some kind of cleric, and another person might be joining.

Any advice for what I should be doing?

I think I might go with the melee life oracle Rory suggested. I can use feats to make myself more versatile, especially with a human. I can also be quite good with the charisma based abilities and I can always boost it with an item too.

would a dip in undead sorcerer still be recommended for this? Also, what curse should I use for this build?

A friend is going to be running a game of Carrion Crown in a few weeks and I'm trying to figure out a character/class to play. I don't know what the others are wanting to do, and I like to plan out ahead of time, so I am making a few options.

I was wondering which would be better suited for a Carrion Crown game. I am wanting a charismatic character that can work as a face, but also can have an effect battle. I am thinking of also possibly acting as a healer for the party if they need it.

Things I am interested in for Oracle are the Heavens and life mysteries. The charisma focus is nice, and it seems to be better in a healing manner, but I'm not so sure how it would go in a battle setting. For the curses I would probably go with haunted.

For the Shaman I like the Heavens spirit, but the life one doesn't seem that great. It isn't focused on charisma, but the adaptability is nice and could be useful for when I need to battle.

I would also appreciate advice on what I should do with the ability points. I am presuming we are doing a 15 point buy, we haven't had any confirmation yet.

As far as races go I am not wanting to do anything too out there, considering the setting isn't the most open minded setting, most of the core races or races that can pass as human are fine though.

(I also have a flame dancer dirge bard drawn up, but I'm not set on that idea.)

I've been reading over the magus class and I'm fine with playing that with the greensting slayer archetype. He is okay with me making a new race/class as long as it isn't overpowered.

Flying creatures get a +4 bonus on checks if they have good maneuverability, I only have normal, so having vestigial wings gives me the bonus. Also, it doesn't say that having flight gives you wings so I thought I would have to take vestigial wings to get them.
I estimated the size modifiers as being +4 to dex and -4 to strength
I think attribute modifiers would be +2 cha +2 int -2 con. Or possibly +2 dex instead of cha, but then that seems like a lot of dex modifiers.

I used this to create the race. http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/other-rules/creating-new-races

I put 8 points into flight to get 50ft fly speed. Is there something else I should use instead?

That actually works really well. I didn't really think about magus being an option for a fairy character. Thanks.

I'm wanting it to be more caster like, but I'm also going to be using sneak attack a lot, especially at lower levels. I won't worry about the ranger combat feats, It's more the casting and sneak attack I am wanting.
I don't need to have level 9 spell progression.

I looked at bard, but the flavor of it just doesn't fit with the idea in my head. My group already has two anyway.

Thanks for all your points. I'm not trying to make a super character, just one that has the flavor of sneaky fairy.

I want to have sneak attacks as well as casting, would changing to the sorcerer progression make it better? Or is there something else that would be more balanced? I'd still limit it to two schools. The ones I'm going to use are enchantment and illusions.

Also, because I'd be playing a diminutive character with this class, I put in the ranger combat feat progression so I would actually be able to attack at lower levels. Is there a better way of doing that? I'm fine taking it out if it's too much.

The race features are
Humanoid/Fey
Diminutive (-2 size mod,-2 special size mod, +6 fly size mod, +12 stealth mod)
Base Speed 20ft
Fly Speed 50ft (normal)
Weapon Familiarity as a bonus feat
Low light vision
Languages: Common, Sylvan
Vestigial Wings (+4 to fly)

So I'm wanting to create a new class because I want something that fits well with my race that I made (basically a fairy). I used a guide I found online (http://inkwellideas.com/resources/FantasyClassBlendingRules.pdf) but I thought I should get it checked before I take it to my GM. What I'm going for is basically a sneaky, arcane archer type (without using the prestige class), possibly with a larger familiar that she can ride.

The features I chose are
-D10 for health
-medium BAB
-4 skill points +int
-Light Armour
-Simple and, longbow, short bow, rapier, short sword and quarterstaff
-Barbarian Maneuverability
-Ranger combat style feats
-spells as a wizard (only two schools)
-rouge sneak attacks
-wizard cantrips
-arcane bond

Basically I just want to know if this is balanced, or if I should change anything, or if there is something that would fit better flavor wise. I'm not sure what to do for the level 20 feature either, any ideas?

The Warpriest sounds interesting. What would be a good build for that? I'm having trouble finding a good guide.

I have no problem with complicated builds myself, it's more so long as the GM understands everything I'm doing. I wouldn't mind paladin but for the fact I don't want to play lawful. We have to play as good though.

So my group currently consists of a
Cavalier (warrior
Wizard (transmutation)
Bard
Bard
Wind Oracle (me)

This is the first campaign for our GM so I want to try an make it easier for him. I am going to change my character for a more front line type but I am having trouble being interested in any of them. It would be great if someone could give me some advice on what class would help balance the group out, preferably one that isn't too complicated.

edit: we are starting at level 1. we rolled for ability scores and I got 14, 16, 16, 18, 11, 18. I will be playing a human. We can move points around using the point buy system.
