Idrian takes a moment to decide how to answer. "We've shared an adventure or two just before you came to town, along with Jo'no, Tania, and a few others. I don't think he would have given the man ghoul fever. That's why I decided to leave. Obviously, though, he is willing to use the situation to his advantage. When we come back, he will fight. And he does it well." Idrian goes to find the others.

"Of course. Just as long as we understand each other... friend." Idrian walks out of the room with his head low and his fists clenched. He hates the thought of having to fight Algus.

Idrian hesitates for a moment, but relents. "Ok, Algus. We'll leave, but the sheriff will hear of this and I expect that he'll send us back. I hope that you will be willing to accept our authority at that time." Idrian motions for Durik to leave with him.

"You knew he had ghoul fever and you didn't let us know? You're crazy! You belong in one of your rooms here. We're going to take you to answer for this absurdity."

Idrian does a quick scan of the room. "Antidote for what, Doc? What's going on?"

noting the 'good' doctor's absence, Idrian goes to search him out.

"I have something prepared for just this situation." Idrian casts Disrupt Undead. If needed, and possible, he'll take a 5' step before doing so.

K: arcana 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 I'll Aid Jo'no if I can, making observations that he missed and offering suggestions he hadn't thought of.

"I'll go, Sheriff, but understand you're only postponing the inevitable. Mother Creedy said she held me accountable for whatever happened to her boys. When they come at me I don't expect they'll only want to talk nice. And whether it's tomorrow or in a month, I doubt she'll forgive or forget."

[b]"Actually, Sheriff, I was rather looking forward to the 'vigorous debate' with those rougher elements."[b]

"Waste of time." Idrian responds to Tania, but he sees the emotion in her eyes. "But if you want to go through the trouble...."

As the group gathers after the sentencing, Idrian let's them know that Mother Creedy is holding him responsible for her boys' fates and that he expects them to act against him in the next few days.

As much as Idrian was for having criminals pay for their deeds, he disliked hellknights. They had a way of finding everyone guilty, even the innocent. However, we is ready when they finally call for him.

"Besides, I want to be here to see the Creedy's get their comeuppance."

Idrian checks in with Sheriff Hemlock and Father Zanthus. He rents out an anvil from a blacksmith to help pass some time. Other than that, Idrian will mostly be at the Rusty Dragon.

We could get the Father Zanthus to cast Consecration if none of us can.

I'm still in.

Idrian had never met Nualia, but in his time in Sandpoint, he had heard of her. To him, she was just another bad guy that needed to be brought in or brought down. However, he had fought side by side with Jo'no and Tania and they knew and mourned for a different version of the deceased celestial maiden. In what was for him an uncommon bout of humanity, Idrian did not make a negative remark. "I'll go, uhh, secure the perimeter. Um, Jo'no, why don't you see if there's anything of worth in here. And take your time. Take all the time you need. Mikka, would you come with me? There should be some sheets upstairs we could use to cover her up and, maybe, take her back home in, but I would rather not go walking around here alone just yet."

Durik's healing touch is much appreciated by the ranger. With the hound continuing to attack him, Idrian is forced to drop his precious bow and haul out his sword. He puts the effort of drawing the weapon into his swing as he magically enhances the sword.

Is there enough room for Idrian to get up there and draw a bead on her?
"Come along quietly and you'll get a fair trial and hanging."

Idrian tires of the delay and searches the area for a trap.
"Just move and let me do it." He says irritably.

Idrian will be last down the rabbit hole. He gives a meaningful look at the merc as he leaves.

That wasn't a threat. I was informing him of my code.

Idrian gives the mercenary a disapproving look. "We'll be sure to tell the sheriff how helpful you've been. He's a fair man who'll take that into account. I am less fair, though. I won't hurt a prisoner, but if you're running you're not a prisoner. Do you understand?

Don't forget that Idrian is also a Magus. Though I am totally fine with the switch outs.
Idrian doesn't like prisoners, but he won't let a prisoner just die, so he allows Feldspar (or Durik or whoever) to apply first aid to the merc's wounds before binding him .

Idrian moves to relieve him of any other weapons he has. Idrian is not worried his comfort.

It's ok DM Wrath. I was waiting for everyone to post so I could figure out where I could go. And Jo'no, the woman is not Nualia. Nualia is past them somewhere makeing preparations.

Idrian halts the group, then has them pull back some. "There's at least two up their waiting to ambush us. They set up a barricade of some kind to hold us off while a third finishes other preparations."

Idrian will cast Shield on himself.

"Then lead on my stalwart companion." Idrian says to Feldspar. "Wither you go, we shall follow." He adds with a bit of sarcasm and a flourish.

"We could try going across one at a time with the folks on the other side holding onto the what's left of the rope." Idrian keeps a watch out for anyone appearing in the towers.

"Patient with me? Why? For believing that bad guys and evil creatures should be treated like bad guys and evil creatures. If that's the case, then your patience is going to be sorely tested indeed. You offered a surrender, they accepted it, and I respected it even though I didn't like it." Then with an abrupt sincerity he adds, We don't see eye to eye on some things but I did not mean to insult nor do I mean to offend your divine sensibilities."

Killing them would be an act of evil, but it is something that Idrian would do, if he thought it necessary. If it were only up to him, Idrian would leave them locked up to live or die as fate would have it. In some ways that is even more cruel but, in his opinion, only what they deserve.
We are not speaking about this in front of them.

"First, you were a fool for offering them a surrender." Idrian growls as he plays with his bow string. "We should just kill them or leave them to die. Taking them out of here is asking for trouble."

"What about the 'prisoners'? Are we going to leave them or finish them?"

"I'd rather go on, but it seems I'm outvoted. Let's fall back to the briar-maze outside to rest. We run the risk that they'll be able to reinforce or set an ambush for us, but it's better than being caught where we can't escape."
