Well the nice thing about the multi class options, or the one level dip, is that it allows us to make the character we imagine, rather then being pigeon holed into a class. With my character, Iago Isildur, I am trying to make a “silver tongued barrister” and to focus on the contractual and the legalistic aspects of Asmodeus. Not all clerics are healers. I have focused on negative energy channeling to see how the other side of the channeling system work. I have also taken the flame domain to add some punch to the character and I took trickery domain for the bluff skill. My cleric has Bluff, Diplomacy Sense motive, Knowledge Religion, Linguistics, and sense motive. While my character can heal, I haven’t built him as a healer. I for one like seeing what the character classes can do if you go “off script” a bit, and I think a wizard with a rapier, or one who has a side interest in music sounds interesting. The level of bard could easily round out an aristocratic up bringing.
DM Morvius, I have fiddled with Iago's Scores a bit. How does this look?
Here are the revised gaming statistics Game Statistics

Official Title: Legate Iago Isildur of Asmodeus Iago has black eyes and longish black hair, which when pulled back, shows the beginings of a widow's peak. His black which contrasts with his pale skin. when he travels, he wears his black scale male and shield, with a black cloak and a heavy black mace at his side. when not traveling he usually dons his clerical robes (sever black with red trim) for official religious observances, or he dresses as a moderately successful barrister, when he is practicing law. Background Spoiler:
Iago Isildur grew up in the lap of luxury in Cheliax. His family House Isildur was fairly powerful, neither the most powerful nor the least but powerful. Iagos's uncle Mirrax Isildur controlled the house seat. The house had vast tracks of land and various businesses under ownership. However the most lucrative enterprise of House Isildur was given to Iago’s father Diago Isildur to run. Diago ran a trading house with offices in Katapesh, Absolom, Korvosa, the Nidalese capital of Nisrosh, and the Chelaxian cities of Corentym, Westcrown, Ostenso, and the capitol Egoran. The trading house specialized in magical spell components for conjuring, summoning and Necromancy. It was extraordinarily lucrative. His brother Mirrax sent Diago, to personally over see the trading houses offices in Katapesh. Katapesh was the source of most of the spell components. Anything was available and legal for trade there. Diago ever the political animal, saw that Asmodeus wasn’t the dominant faith in Katapesh, but Abadar was. He joined a congregation of Abadar for the business connections, and he had his son Iago become educated in the Abadaran faith and to become an altar boy. He expected this would help him with his business contacts. It did. There were more deals and much more profit. Daigo longed for his home in the capitol Egoren in Cheliax. One day he got his wish. Mirrax foolishly made a mistake. Mirrax made a deal with a Devil lord. He exchanged his soul, and the souls of his wife and children for immortality. The devil accepted. Immortality doesn’t mean indestructibility. The Devil had some of his imps, lock the manor house, and set it afire. Mirrax and his family perished, their immortality short lived. Diago being next in line inherited the house seat. He was elated. This meant wealth power and a return to civilization, a return to Cheliax to Egoran. Diago moved his family back from Katapesh to Egoran. Diago then began grooming his first son to succeed him, and his second son, Iago, he sent into the church of Asmodeus. Iago with his initial training in the church of Abadar, did quite well in the church of Asmodeus. He was unfortunately a bit too lawful and neutral for his superiors and colleagues taste. They decided to give Iago an assignment to get him out of their hair. they sent him to absolom to join the pathfinders. After a year of going to interesting places and exploring tombs, Much to Iago’s surpise, he was recalled to cheliax
Well here is the revised character for consideration. if he needs any tweaking in terms of game statistics, or background please let me know.

Thank you for the recommendation DM Morvios. Thematically I would prefer to play a scholarly cleric as in a monastic monk who illuminates manuscripts and maintains a library rather then a "Knight Templar" with combat training. So I guess that means i would prefer to focus on spell casting rather then combat. I had initially put the charisma at 18, because I was thinking of the clerics negative energy channeling. With Selective channeling I could designate up to 4 others not getting affected by the negative energy channel. I also noticed with the 18 in charisma it gave my character a nice boost to the bluff and diplomacy skills, two skills that I think would fit the idea of a "silver tongued fiendish barrister". I had put a 14 in intelligence, for the +2 extra skills. I had thought that a 14 wisdom adequate, and i could build it over time to gain access to spells, but if my character is going to primarily be a spell caster, I can see the wisdom in well having an 18 wisdom. I'm going to go ahead and reshuffle Iago's stats with an eye to an 18 wisdom.
Hello I have never played in a Play by Post game before. DM Morvius, your premise for a game sounds interesting, and i have always thought Cheliax would be a place with adventures lurking dark alley ways and underground wine cellars. I mainly post as Elyas Ravenwood My character Iago Isildur, is a Pathfinder Society Organized Play character and i have gotten him up to 5th level. Not wanting to let good materiel go to waste ( waste not want not) i thought this character might be a good fit for your campaign, so I put him back down to 1st level. So I would like to apply. Here is Iago Appearance:

I apologize for dumping so much materiel in your lap, but once i got started, before i knew it, it was done. Is there anything i should know about playing Play by post? how is it different from a table top game? thanks
When asked what we are going to do to re absorb rebellious territories that left the fold, such as Andoran, as a Legate of Asmodeus, and a Citizen of the Glorius empire of Cheliax, I useally reply, "we don't have to do anything.....we simply have to wait. Andoran's experiment in "liberty " will eventually implode and collapse into the chaos that is Galt. The citizens will yearn for the order our empire can provide, and then we can march in and save the Andoran province from the depredations of Mob rule." |
