The Brazen Tower

Out of the shadows you hear a voice. "Hey Omari. Come over here."

Checking on the voice, you find a woman you have seen occasionally in Kelmarane before you left. She inquires if you are going to free them from those evil genies and requests you to get rid of the guardians at the bridge so people could leave Kelmarane and those unnatural things guarding the entrance to the upper town as everyone is afraid they might come down and eat everyone. And she warns you of the Brazen Tower, a thing that grew in seconds in place and destroyed the Battle Market from within. "That's the dark arts that created that thing."

Some steps are heard and some voices, and while you check who else appears - two gnolls - the woman is gone.

"The blacksmith is that direction. You take the wide road to the temple and then it's somewhere in the alleys to the right. Maybe you can tell by the hammering." a woman replies.

"Yeah. It would have been nice to get that warning before you tried to kill us." Cimri chimes in.

"Indeed." Cimri agrees and once back at the Ash House, she leads upstairs too meet again with "The Shadow".

After taking the full blow of the dark energy, Cimri decides that this is not her fight and retreats with Willow. Shouting at Moira "You crazy b@#&%!"

Cimri is baffled by the attack and dowsn't know what to do.

"Give me the decree. I'll nail it to the building. You hand the sheriff her dismissal." Cimri states and grabs the tool.

"I brought a hammer and nails." Cimri tells.

"Sure." Cimri replies and produces the sash out of the pocket of her coat.

"I don't need to have that." Cimri replies.

Cimri for sure doesn't want to answer to her aunt and follows Willow.

Once back at the house she leads the group immediately to Razelago. She gives a short summary of the sermon and the events afterwards.

Cimri stands there, not knowing what to do. "I think we should go back and report our findings." she suggests, nervously looking where her aunt, the sheriff is.

"Pretty much. As long a nothing big happens." Cimri replies. "Maybe intimidate some obvious supporters against Thrune to make them shut up."

"My aunt is a pain in the ass." Cimri replies.

"No, we're only here to watch and make the presence of supporters of Thrune known."

Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
"Is it a crime to be patriotic?" Cimri chimes in. But not very persuasive.

"No, should I?" Cimri plays clueless.
Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
"Not likely, unless she’s pulled the stick out of her robes and started
worshiping Calistria."
Cimri tries to evade the questioning.

"Not particularly." Cimri replies.

"I was just dandy, Aunt Rhona." cimri replies.

Cimri takes the box, opens it and hands out broad, crimson sash emblazoned with the symbol of Cheliax and the arms of House Fex — a pair of fighting stags with bloody antlers.

"I guess because that official entity doesn't want to be connected to us, in case we screw up?" Cimri comments. "But I don't really know. I'm in for the money, to get out of this stinking town." she tells.

"I guess so. Has to be upstairs. Never used it." Cimri replies. Until now she never had a reason to stay here that long.

As the situation unwinds Cimri relaxes a bit, but stays clear of Bony. "You can stay here if you want and have no place of your own. If not, just tell me where I can find you, when there is the next job."

Cimri steps back checking her options to get out of this. "I'm telling nothing."

"What?" Cimri grins, as she has an idea what Bony found. "You didn't think it was that easy, did you?"

"Too bad that's no option. You can of course decide to not work for the guy you don't know." Cimri replies.

"But why would you care. The job pays really well and you don't seem to have too high morals that would hinder you."

"Of course I know. And once he wants to, he will tell you too." Cimri answers.

Cimri moves to the figure behind the screen and places the lockbox there.

"Come here through the window. The door is jammed." Cimri tells and leads the way through the window.

Cimri decides not to comment on Bony taking a coin, because she can't win a staring contest without blinking.

"That's enough, not one coin more!" Cimri shouts.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

"Okay, my boss expects something around 1000gold." Cimri tells.

Sense Motive DC21:
Bullf: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
That's just a guess from her.

"How much is in the box?" Cimri asks.

Cimri looks in as the talk turns to money. "That's all for my boss to have."

How did you get invited to this raid Clarice? Did I forget I invited you to come to the gate too?

The evening comes and the night too and with the moon Moira and Karthus raise from their rest and leave Longacre through the Castle Gate. There Cimri waits already. "It's time you show up. Come along." She leads the group about a mile out of town. There from a hill there is a good view over the countryside.

The town of Longacre sits just outside the fringes of the Whisperwood. A few lights shine in the streets and windows, and the occasional snippet of conversation or laughter issues from open doors, but here on the outskirts of town, the night is quiet and dark. Sparse clouds scud across the sky, momentarily obscuring the dim light from the moon overhead. Across a scrubby field, barely distinguishable under the starry sky, a darkened, fortlike compound hunches in the distance.

Cimri points toward the dim structure. "That’s it—Louslik Tannery. Here’s the job: We break in, sack Ol’ Louslik’s office, take whatever’s shiny, and get out before the sheriff shows up. If we get separated, meet back at the Ash House by dawn." Dull moonlight glints across her dagger as she flicks it in emphasis. "If you get pinched, remember: you’re mute. Keep your mouth shut, and I’ll handle things. I got assurances that we won’t take any blame if things go south. But get chatty and I’ll let you rot." A beat passes and her usual crooked smirk appears. "If you don’t screw things up, we’ll all be drinking on Razelago’s coin come dawn. Let’s do this."

"We'll meet tonight when the moon rises over the trees. Just outside the Castle Gate." Cimri tells. Then she gets up, checks that the barkeep didn't listen in on their talk and leaves the pub.

"It's someone who didn't pay their taxes. You can either have your share of what we find or I pay you five gold each and you get nothing else." Cimri offers. "And don't get the wrong idea. The not paid taxes are not yours to have."

Cimri sits down. "We will rough someone up for not paying their debts. And we get to keep what we can shake out of them."

A woman enters the Arch and Lark looking around she comes over to Moira and Karthus. She pulls out a chair. "You're here for the job?"

As Cembers puts the towel down to come over she stops her with a glare and a small gesture of her hand.
