A qoute from my current GM when one of my party memebers suggested we incoporate the alchemist (we play CRB only) is: "roleplay is everything. If your 12,345 DPS build does'nt make any sense roleplay wise, don't". And we never dumped charisma to 7 ever since. BACK, FOUL NECROMANCER! GO BACK TO THE SHADOWS!

Appearence
More, her grace and economy of movement bely a lifetime of preparation for an ungoing battle against the dark. When prepared for adventure, she wears shining armor, singally adorned with the face of the Sunfather on her left shoulder. In her hand she grips an antique steel shield emblazoned with the mark of her warrior god. Most menacingly, she is festooned with not only her oversized bastard sword, but at all times several other weapons. Otherwise, her appearence seems as though she were a common priestess, unadorned by any finery, though she never goes far from her swords and shield willingly. Background
The course of the River of Life was sundered soon after when a raiding party attacked and destroyed the village, razing the homes and raping the women. 'Nastasia was spared by the grace of one of the village's much outclassed opponents, as he pinned the babe beneath a steel shield to hide her from the attackers. Or so the priests say. The day after the raid, a traveling cleric of Pelor passed through the village, and spent a great deal of time attending to the dead, until by chance, he stumbled upon the concealed young child. Unable to find any other survivors, the cleric gathered her up, shield and all, and brought her to the nearest city, where by fortune the Church of the Sunfather maintained an orphanage. 'Nastasia was given to the orphanage, and the anonymous wandering cleric left, never to be seen again. The priests gave her her new full name, Anastasia her given name, Ilizabetta was an apocryphal name from a holy anecdote, and d'Solavard indicating she was an orphan and ward of the Sunfather. For the next sixteen years 'Nastasia was raised by the orphanage. She was enthralled by the church, specifically by the drive to serve both a god and one's fellow mortals, and she spent many of her days and nights stufying the holy texts and listening to sermons and training. Unlike many of her fellow orphans, she took no interest in the visitations by the few outsiders who sought out the orphans to raise as their own, and so she remained. On her seventeeth birthday, she took the vows of the initiate, and began her studies in earnest to become a cleric in her own right. However the more deeply she attempted to become intune with the Sunfather, the more elusive that goal seemed. Until, Herethin, a Paladin serving the Maiden Protector Mayaheine arrived at the temple where 'Nastasia was studying. Herethin was greivously wounded, and tortured by an unholy maladay laid upon him by some unknown terror in the night. Like the rays of sun piercing the clouds, 'Nasatasia found the new course of her life's river in listening to the tales Herethin shared. Despite the elder clergy's attempts to remove her, she stayed by Herethin's side for five days and nights, recording on scrolls his every lucid word, and etching those words as memories into her own mind. Exhaustion and malnurishment finally claimed her conciousness, and in her troubled sleep she saw a vision. She stood upon a rampart, beside a healthy and lively Herethin, beneath the shining sun. The sun reflected off of Herethin's armor, and from that shining light another figure stepped forward. "Do not fear, 'Nastasia, for Herethin's life was well spent in my service, and he will dine with me eternal. Now, my child, your service to our Sunfather has never comforted you, for you were in truth always meant for me. Will you take up the vestments of my service, and shine your light into the void that Herethin's passing has left?" Without hesitation, 'Nastasia fell to her knees and swore an oath of fealty to Mayaheine. When she arose, she realized that she was back in the mortal world, and that Herethins flame had gone out. When she spoke to the high clerics of what she had seen, there was no question left. Released from her oaths as a cleric of the Sunfather, 'Nastasia stepped onto the path of a cleric of Mayaheine. The close relationship between Mayaheine and Pelor smoothed the transition. As she gathered her meagre belongings she was presented with several gifts from her friends, mentors, and caretakers. First she was presented with a suit of scale armor with a burning sun epaulette to protect her, and remind her of the sunfather's eternal watch over her. Next, the middenmother who had cared for her as a babe presented her with a repaired swaddling blanket, a connection to her unknown home. Third the abbot of the orphanage presented her with the shield which had sheltered her as a child, now concecrated, and adorned with the panolpy of Mayheine; now to protect her soul and body as it had protected her life so long ago. Finally she was presented with Herethin's blade, though some fell magic drained it of it's greatness, the High Cleric thought she should again bring it into battle against the enemies of the Sunfather and his disciple goddess Mayaheine. Personality
However her upbringing and martial nature make it difficult for her to present the expected impression of a lady, when she bothers to try at all. |
