My PC's will be facing a violet fungus soon and I have a couple questions about the rot ability. It says it is a poison effect but it doesn't list a frequency. When a tentacle hits and a PC fails the save, does it just do the 1d4 str and con damage once? Also, what if multiple tentacles hit a PC? Does the PC take the str and con damage for each hit/failed save?
Thanks for any help in advance! My group just switched back to pathfinder from 4th and we are having a blast. It's been great to have adventuring be "dangerous" again. These poisons seem deadly and I think that is a great thing :)

We are running savage tide but I am using updated monsters from the beastiary and it has been very challenging for the group so far. Surprisingly, no one has died yet but this fungus might have other plans for the group *evil grin*

I just can't hang with all the product anymore. I love what you guys are doing and will buy books when I can!! Please cancel all of my subs. *I really feel bad about it*

After searching for 19 years I FINALLY found the "beowulf" album that kept alluding me! They were a punk band from venice, CA that I loved as a kid. So happy!! It's even better than I remember it to be *wipes tear It was totally worth the wait!!!

I really like the idea of the 3 buff limit. I would even like to see that as the standard for pathfinder society etc.. I might be in the minority here, but that would work wonders towards speeding up high level play.

Dark Archive

I would like to see a change to point blank shot/precise shot. Would combining them into one feat be too powerful? I will be playtesting alpha with RotR soon and was thinking about trying this combo out.

*I know 4th edition got rid of them, but I think that's going a little too far :)

Dark Archive

There was a great quote at my gaming table this week when the group realized someone was following them. "Someone is smeaglin' us." Just thought I would share some happiness with everyone for a change of pace from all the 4th edition nonsense.

P.S.
It's great to be back on the isle of dread again. My first "real" d&d session was on that isle when I was only a lad. *Oingo reference unintentional, but that album still kills today as well.

Hey Jade! If you happen to read this, I was wondering if I could ask you a couple of questions about selling a screenplay. I remember you posting somewhere that you had sold one, and I could use any help I could get. There is some interest in something my brother and I cooked up, but I really don't want to go in to the business process completely blind. If you could e-mail me at aarecording@hotmail.com it would be greatly appreciated. I totally understand if you are too busy to respond though.

Thanks

I'm just curious why the items are still listed as pending. The order was placed on the 12th of december. I was hoping to get this order by xmas lol *I knew I was too late on the 12th even, so no complaints.

Dark Archive

It's been said over and over, but I have really been feeling the loss of the magazines lately. I just wish a new dungeon would arrive in my mailbox for xmas. Thanks santa :(

Can a Cleric of Wee Jas use scrolls and wands of cure spells? This is the 1st time we have had a negative energy cleric in our game. Thanks for your time...

Dark Archive

I will continue my sub to pathfinder, but please cancel my gamemastery sub. I will continue to buy them at my FLGS :)

***extra points for having the balls to publish Hook Mountain!!

Dark Archive

I just picked this up a bit ago and it's a blast. Anyone else playing this game? Or is it just WoW and Eve around here :(

Dark Archive

Hello all! Time to start posting here for the next 2 years while we run the savage tide. I have 6 dwarf pc's so it should be very interesting to say the least. Cheers! *clangs ale mug

I was wondering when the exp to greyhawk and other items are going to ship. Are we still waiting for them to sign the copies? I have been jonesin for this product for way too long now.

Dark Archive

I gave a not-so-great(3 star)review of D1 and it's gone. I also posted a similar message on product discussion that is gone. No profanity, spoilers, etc... hmmmm.... maybe it's just lost in space as I hope you wouldn't remove something like this on purpose.

The "goons of diamond lake" will be facing Kyuss tomorrow night and putting an end to the AoW after 2 long years of hacking/slashing/killing/dying. The goons destroyed the unlife vortex and did a decent job of fighting despair as well. Any tips/hints on running Kyuss and making this a great campaign ender would be greatly appreciated. The goons are definitely a hack and slash group so sheer power would scare the crap out of them. I am hoping for an opening round from Kyuss that will put a huge hurt on their egos :)

Now that's an adventure to end the magazine with! I can't wait to run it. I might even run Crown of The Kobold King in to Bargle. Well, the players have already started Mad God's Key, so MGK to CotKK to KB! Hopefully end up heading to Bloodsworn Vale at 6th, so any suggestions for a 4th to 5th level adventure to tie in to these would be greatly appreciated. We have a 4 PC group that is doing some side treks until our missing Age of Worms player gets back in town and helps us defeat Kyuss. I must say that we are really enjoying low level play haha! I can't believe how fast the combats are moving compared to our 20th level group. Even though I was sad to get the last dungeon in the mail today, it sure goes out the right way.

Dark Archive

Thank you dungeon magazine for getting my gaming group back together for the Age of Worms. We are almost done after close to 2 years of playing time. You gave all of us a reason to hang out once a week again and that is a gift you can't put a $$ value on. It was close to ten years that the group was dead, and then I saw the 1st issue of AoW at borders and dungeon immediately cast true rez on my gaming group. Thanks from all of us! You will be missed...

Hojas AKA Trent- DM and npc cleric
Spleef AKA Kevin- wizard
Garbok AKA Chris- fighter
Yu-Hai AKA Jesse- monk
Jezlo AKA Terry- ranger

I just added the gamemastery sub to my list and I was wondering if the sub starts at Crown of the Kobold King or conquest of...? Any info would be greatly appreciated so I can order crown seperately(and quickly!) if I have to.

I have read a lot of the threads about running dragotha but I am still nervous that I will forget something. Any last tips/tricks to blast the pc's with? Launching both breath weapons on the opening round is the plan so far...

P.S.
6 pc's
fighter/rogue/ranger/wizard/cleric/monk and they have all of Balakarde's fragments

Dark Archive

I can't seem to find the original thread, but my group is getting close to fighting Dragotha and it would be great to get in the rotation for that lair. I also think that every group that uses it should graffiti(very small lol) the name of their party on one of the walls. Hopefully this thing is still going around as it was a great piece of work that could bring enjoyment to many AoW groups. Thanks for any info :)

Dark Archive

Wrong place to ask this?

Dark Archive

I wasn't sure how this adventure would go over with my old school group, but I am happy to report that everything went well! The rules in 3.5 worked wonders by allowing the players to still roll dice while moving the story forward. Even though we went through the adventure quickly, the list of things that was accomplished in that time is very long. Securing invitations, finding the sickhouse, gather info checks, intimidate and diplomacy checks, Ilthane's lair and a couple of cool monsters made this one to remember. The highlight of the evening was the archery contest with our ranger taking on Zeech himself. I just made it a best of 4 dice contest with Zeech receiving a +3 to his rolls. Something so small ended up being very cool because everytime Zeech shot, the ranger would roll just a tiny bit higher. Building up to Zeech rolling a 16+3=19(and a description of "zeech kills 4 birds") and the ranger firing right back with a nat 20 for the win("ranger kills 6 birds..") impressing Lashonna enough to meet with the party next adventure. You have to love it when an adventure goes a lot better than you thought it would :)

Dark Archive

but this is the funniest thing I have ever seen. Hopefully I wasn't the last one to see this like usual.

Sorry, can't find the link. (I know, I suck)

Just go to google video and type "Farador D&D". Just don't drink anything before you watch this or you will wet yourself. Adult theme!! You have been warned!!

Dark Archive

My last post was eaten so I will try this one more time: Can a caster summon any monster from the summon monster list regardless of his alignment? Does alignment restrict a cleric from casting certain spells? This is the one area that has been confusing in our AoW campaign, so any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

How many cultists should I place in the Hextor temple? I know this has been covered before, but I am in a hurry to prepare for Thursday's game so I am taking the easy way out and bringing it up on these boards one more time :) Thanks all in advance!

I just got another dog, but I have been struggling with names! Help! male Pit Bull, D&D related name, his big sister is named "six"

It's always the little things that make a DM shine, and I missed a couple of big ones during my gaming session last night. The party was about to face the Grick/sphere trap in the whispering cairn and meet the ghost of Alastor Land. Even though I had planned all week for this encounter, and really liked the idea of Alastor busting the PC's chops while they were in action, I still forgot to play it out that way. I got caught up in the excitement and didn't even realize I missed it until the PC's were on their way back to Diamond Lake with the bones and a smile on their face. I guess I need to start using notecards to remind me of the important details for every encounter. What do all the great DM's here on the Paizo boards use to keep track of everything?

My old group finally got together and started the Age of Worms campaign! It was so much fun to roll some dice again and "The Whispering Cairn" is the best starting adventure to bring old groups back together with a bang. It has been almost nine years since we played(we are late 20's to early 30's) and the old feel of this 1st adventure has everyone anxiously awaiting the next session. I was so nervous when I sat down behind the screen and you can bet I didn't drill every mechanic correctly but the game flowed extremely well thanks to the good story of the AP as a whole. We only made it past the wolf den in the 1st session but I think we have worked the rust out of our rolls and it was so great to actually hang out with old friends in person instead of sending tells to each other in the latest MMORPG. Thank you Dungeon for allowing us to do some "real" adventuring again!! The whole group owes you an ale.

Dark Archive

Seriously, anyone is welcome LOL We have 3 players so it would be nice to add at least one more :)

Dark Archive

I have dusted off the old books and the group is getting back together. All of us have been playing MMORPG's for some time now and it dawned on me(after 10 hours of endless ganking) that we haven't seen each other face to face in ages. I also noticed that all the stuff that we liked in the on-line games was the stuff we were comparing to D&D. So I called up the crew and everyone was just as hyped to get back to the dice and do some "real" adventuring again. I decided to go to the hobby shop to see if D&D was even available now. I was so happy to see that D&D was going stronger than ever before with a wealth of new material available. A few bills later(ack!) and I have the new version 3.5 core books, Forgotten Realms campaign setting, City of Splendors, and minis that I never should have started to look at. Then I spotted a Dungeon magazine on the shelf. I remembered the magazine from years ago, but I really didn't read it back then :( I bought it and when I got home I was amazed to see how much quality material is in the magazine. The whole idea of running an adventure path as big as this through 12 issues is great. I am bummed I missed out on "The Shackled City". Our group has always enjoyed epic plots with the combat so I was thinking "AoW" would be a great place for us to start fresh again. Since it has been awhile for all of us, do you think that we should start with a side quest that would tie in to the start of "AoW"? Just so everyone gets the rust out of their rolls? Any suggestions for the tie-in? It sure feels good to be back :)

P.S.
I can't believe how much positive information is being given out by fellow DM's on this messageboard! Thanks a lot for the time and help that you give to the new DM's and those of us who need our skills refreshed.
