How about "Nine" as in nine layers of hell.

Asmodeus
Amon
Pazuzu
Errtu

I am calling him all these names to see if one sticks haha

For some reason, I think of Roman names when I see "Pit Bull" - Brutus, Gaius, things like that.

Liberty's Edge

Blinky. The Lawful Good blink dog. If you ever end up in court because of your dog, an innocuous name plays a lot better than Damien or Thorduke. "Then, Nermal savagely bit me...." yeah, sure.

Lidda?

Seriously, say the name in your best Arnie-voice and it's anything but a delicate 3' halfling chick...

;P

Peace,

d7? (Dee-Seven)

Actually, no...

Name your dog Cosmo.

I'm particularly partial to Cosmo. It's a damn good name.

Scarab Sages

Pancakes!

hmm... so many names to suggest.
Gubbaffet (J/K)
Walter
Gopperson
Drenil
Ricksus
Rover
Lappy
Flappy
Gringon
Rifusaw
And the one I would really suggest would be.....SALSA
Just some suggestions and even though I said Quote" Gubbaffet (J/K)" Unquote, that doesn't mean you shouldn't name him that.
:)

That is funny because I called him cosmo for a couple hours but it just wasn't sticking, so I decided to post here for help. It's driving me crazy calling him "come here" and "no" all the time. Balor seems cool, but I wouldn't mind a cute name either. If anyone wants a pic, please e-mail me at aarecording@hotmail.com

thanks to all of you for your help, Paizo board clan is the best!

I'm horribly disappointed!

How bout, "Didhebiteya."

i.e. stranger walking by looks into the yard and says "whats your dogs name?"

and you say, "Didhebiteya"

I know its not D&D related, but it would be funny.

Pelor (pay-lore) the Pit Bull?

If you're referring to the boy who bites from Cabin fever, you have my eternal respect.

If you're just mentioning pancakes for pancakes' sake, you have my order.

This is good. You can tell the judge that your pit-bull is named after "the God of Sunshine". Who would convict with that excuse?

Whatever you name it, please train your dog to get crazy happy when you say the words "sausage gravy". Trust me. Being able to say the words "sausage gravy" and have your pet go wild. . .
oh man!
there's nothing better.

The seventh legendary King of Rome:

Tarquinius

Has the advantage of being shortened to "Tar", which can give his name multiple meanings.

Also IMHO, Roman pit bull puppies should wear spiky collars and have at least a small legion of followers. Followers that should deliver pancakes to them. With butter and syrup.

I like "Stay", Handle Animal checks might be a little harder though... "Here Stay, come on boy, here Stay."

But seriously, pick a good strong name like "Mjolnir" after Thor's hammer.

Cerberus
Anubis
Odie ;)

Fenris, Fenrir, Surtr, Ulf, Tyr, Ragnar...

Thauglorimorulus the Black.

Flumph, definitely Flumph.

Slepnir, Odin's 6 legged horse.
Ares
Taren the assistant pig-keeper.
Meepo
Wulfgar
Doppleganger
Otyugh (dogs do stink sometimes!)
The Lord High Slayer of Feline Foes. "Lord" for short.
Evard
St. Cuthbert (sound good in court)
thats all I got.

I like Ragnar...

Dogmeat *so* rocked in that game. It was even better in Fallout 2 when you found the Cafe of Lost Dreams and "reacquired" Dogmeat.

Tim...the name of the enchanter from the Holy Grail.

Meepo might be the one :)

Meepo is out of control! List of things that he likes to chew: Big rocks, Glass, Concrete, Light bulb........

Baha-Mutt
Kurtulmak (Kurt)
Hextor (Hex)
Gruumsh
Maglubiyet (Mag)
H.P.O.F.L.I. ("Hypofly" - High probability of future liability issues)

my kitties are named cringer and battle-cat, and they love it. you should name him prince adam, and then we can meet in the park, and prince adam can play with cringer and battle cat. you can get him little purple tights. it'll be awesome.

Buy him a stuffed white dragon to chew on.

Friend of mine had a pit bull name "Saxon." He was one mean SOB and even liked to listen to heavy metal.

Meepo almost had to pray for a raise dead spell this morning. I barely open my eyes and the first thing I see is a hundred tiny chunks of paper scattered all over the floor. I thought he attacked a kleenex so I shrugged it off and got ready for the day. I was all cleaned up and ready to go when I remembered that I had to pick up Meepo's mess. I started grabbing all the little pieces and I noticed small bits of text and other images were on the shredded confetti(sp?). My heart stopped as I realized it was my limited edition print from the movie "Cannibal Holocaust"(perfect theme for the new AP, savage tide). I only blame myself and consider it a failed intelligence and handle animal check. I put everything of value on higher ground, so hopefully everything is "Meepo proof" in my house now. At least he didn't get the stack of hardcovers :)

I used to have a cat named Lidda.

If you ever change your mind, Krusk is another suggestion. :)

Thank you all for your help! I want to get a bunch of other pets now so I can use all of these great names. Dwarven ale for all! *gives fake healer permission to tap the giant keg

Yea, me!!! Good luck with the monster and hope he doesn't take any class levels in the Carpet Destroyer PRC!

A pit bull named Meepo... how oxymoronic.

I named my chocolate lab/American husky mix: Vitus (the patron saint of comedians). But if I ever get another dog perhaps I'll name him something D&D related. I realize I'm late on this discussion - I came for the free ale.

I think Umberhulk would work for a pit bull. There's always Gorgon, Taurus, Worg...

This thread reminds me of an old tv show on MTV (back when MTV was relevant in some form) that John Stewart hosted where they would act out stories sent in by viewers. One guy from New York City wrote in about how he had lost his dog and ran around the neighborhood yelling his name at 2 a.m. The dog's name? Batman. 2 a.m. in New York City, a guy runs around screaming,"BATMAN!! BAATMAAN!! HAS ANYONE SEEN BATMAN?!"

A pit bull who may become the weekly group mascot could be named Crit.

Bubbles...

Bubbles the Purple Psydo Dragon... *sighes* The interesting stuff a bored 14 year old comes up with.

D8... seriously, spell it that way too. Our cat is named 6e after the cat 6e ethernet cable. The vet just laughed... using numbers in names turns heads and is easily remembered.
