I've been reading on the rules, but I'm still confused. Any clarification would be aprpeciated.

The rules for overrun state that I during a move or charge can use a standard action to make an overrun attempt.

If I am mounted and have trample and I wish to attack an enemy situated behind another enemy, would I be able to overrun/trample the first opponent and make an attack at the second enemy?

They way I'm seeing it, it's really my mount doing the trampling, so it must also be my mount who is using up it's standard action, which frees me up to attack the second enemy behind the first using my own standard action.

Eh, is that possible, or am I missing something here?

Thanks for clearing up a host of questions Pirate. I have been reading about the ride skill, handle animal, two-weapon fighting and mounted combat, but I couldnt figure out how things where done... perhaps because english is not my native language. In any case, thanks for your time, it's really appreciated.

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply mate. That cleared up so much for me.

Although your mount is using its move action to move, you move with it, and thus time is taken up as you are waiting to get to your enemy, essentially using up your move action as well.

I feel so enlightened :0)

ONLY if your mount moves 5’ or less (does not move), OR if you have the Mounted Skirmisher feat

Okay, so under these circumstances I would be able to sit on my mount doing full attacks while my mount also makes full attacks?

Okay, so my melee oriented transmuter got smoked pretty bad last night. So I'm working on a new halfling paladin build.

I've always been a little confused about what you could and what you could not, when riding.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to ride a small cat (which is medium), then make it charge and make it's standard attack, then fast dismount, quick draw my two kukries and make a full attack with my paladin?

OR

Could I just stay in the saddle and make full attacks?

Cheers!

Thats alot of heavy thougts there Fractal. I'm not to happy about multiclassing that much, but you definatly make several valuable points, which makes very good sense. It's also nice to see a different build than those previously proposed. I like it :0)

Thanks mate!

Cheers!

Thanks for responding guys.

I believe you're right about the Int and Str swap-around, I didnt see that coming. I like your build-ideas - they kinda illuminated me :0)

What about Form of the dragon + transformation - whould that be allowed?

While the archetype from the books looks like she wields a full plate, longsword and heavy shield, we wondered why she uses the heavy shield. It is very impractical for the lay on hands ability, as you always have to use an action to either get your shield off, or get your weapon sheathed.

I believe that paladins may lay on hands on themselves as a swift action. While Im not sure if the paladin has to actively touch himself with his hands, I sertainly wouldnt have a problem if he didnt need to.

I guess that he would still be in trouble if he wanted to lay on hands to heal someone else.

Not much help I know.. just my thoughts..

Cheers!

I didnt find any players near me using those links. But I found out that some RPG-shop in the city have a irl-board for stuff like this, what-ya-know ;0)

Thanks for the inspiration everyone!

Cheers!

ENworld's also got a new gamers seeking gamers area up and running, I believe. (although not at this exact moment, apparently, as they're installing a new server).

Cool, I'll remember to look at it. Thanks!

Hey guys

Im building a Transmuter which I want to focus on shapechangeing, debuffing, and buffing. We're allowed 3.5E stuff, but I want to primarily use PF-stuff (dont have APG!), unless something is really really good. That said, I picked up the variant class feature (I think it was, Im at work right now and dont have my books with me)from UA which allowes you to substitute Scribe scrolls and feats/5th level for fighter bonus feats.

As I said everything 3.5E and PF is allowed, and I badly need some advice. I want to be adaptable and able to (almost) always be able to assume a suitable form for the encounter.

These are the stats I rolled: 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 10. Hot numbers!

So I figured they should be assigned something like this (assuming Im human)

Str: 16, Dex 15, con 17, Int 18+2, Wiz 14, Cha 10

My feats are where I really need some help. This is what I have so far:

Level
1 Feat, Human Bonus feat, Fighter Bonus Feat
2
3 Feat
4
5 Feat, Fighter Bonus Feat
6
7 Feat
8
9 Feat
10 Fighter Bonus Feat
11 Feat
12
13 Feat
14
15 Feat, Fighter Bonus Feat
16
17 Feat
18
19 Feat
20 Fighter Bonus Feat

Not much I know hehe. I could put in some extend spell, quicken spell, and some basic combat feats, but Im really after suggestions for a full build :0)

Also, Would there be anything stopping me from casting Form of the Dragon I followed by Transformation a round later (unless its quickend)?

Cheers!

I might actually consider play-by-post. Good one - thanks Snorter!

.. And I'll definatly check out those links Kolokotroni, cheers mate!

I didn't actually believe anyone would reply to this tread, so thanks again guys, I'm really appreciating it!

That is some good pieces of advice guys, thanks - it's appreciated!

And thanks for warning me Nermal - I'll put on my hat and wizard robe ;0)

I really like playing Pathfinder, but my group is slacking heavily. My DM says he dont have enough time to prepare, but Im thinking its just a matter of how he chooses to spend his time. Fair enough, I just wanna play more, and I have no idea how to find another group.

How do you guys find new groups?

Cheers!

Re: the Commerce domain - there is a Trade subdomain (of Travel) in the APG, so you could simply use that...

Sweet, thanks. Can't wait for that one to hit the local store.

I like your reasoning. Makes me think :0) I have something to work on now.

So thanks alot mate!

I agree with those who state that the monks attacks arent natural weapons. The proves, I beleive, are stated in other peoples posts. My reasoning would be, that a monk uses his whole body for attacks, not just his fists. He throws in a knee, headbud, arsebud (?) and so on to the cocktail. Then it would only be approptiate to take the improved natural attack for every attack option he uses - Improved Natural Attack (Arse) for starters. Like a dragons bite attack is different from its tail attack, and it would need to take the feat for each of its attack type.

BUT...

We all know that monks need the extra damage, so what the hell... allow it ;0)

Cheers!

EDIT: ya.. something like what meatrace said

My group's adventure takes place in Eberron and I want to play a Sovereign Speaker. As we also use the Pathfinder corebooks I could use some help matching PF domains with the Sovereign Host. Most of the domains are already placed, but others are nowhere (and not under the dark six either).

The Sovereign Host and associated domains:

Arawai: Good, Life, Plant and Weather
Aureon: Knowledge, Law and Magic
Balinor: Air, Animal and Earth
Boldrei: Community, Good, Law and Protection
Dol Arrah: Good, Law, Sun and War
Dol Dorn: Chaos, Good, Strength and War
Kol Korran: Charm, Commerce and Travel
Olladra: Feast, Good, Healing and Luck
Onatar: Artifice, Fire and Good

Please help me place these leftover-domains:

Rune
Water
Glory
Repose
Nobility
Liberation
Did I miss any (cleraly not associated with the Dark Six)?

Also:

The feast, life and commerce domains are not converted in the Pathfinder Corebook. Have anyone done it, or could anyone help me do it?

Any help is appreciated :0)

Cheers!

I use both. Some people dont like RP'ing, and others that do are bad at it so I let the players choose if they want to do any acting at all.

Spot on. Some people just have an innate ability for talking and always have a reply - roleplaying just comes easy to them. Others are having a harder time, and in my oppinion they shouldnt be punished at the table for that. But Im also under the oppinion that this IS a roleplaying game, and some social encounters should be played out. To some degree, and 90% of the time, I let the PC's decide for themselves.

Still rolling 4d6 - and lovin' it

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Thanks for the help, it's a good start.

I'm interested in seeing what suggestions others may have.

In that case Ill suggest something like the character Im currently playing. Its a Human blaster/crowdcontroller/minor debuffer/minor buffer. I know Im prolly gonna get pommled now by treantmonk and his disciples :0P

Rolling 4d6, removing the worst dice I ended up with

Str 10, Dex 14, Con 16, Int 14, Wis 13, Cha 18(+2 from human)

Seen worse hehe.

I then built my character as following:

I choose the arcane bloodline because its versatile and you get alot of the bonus spells you know you love to have at somepoint, but just dont have the slots availible for. (like greater teleport and dimension door). I also like the +1 to DCs when using metamagic and +2 to DCs when using evocation spells (or what you want it to be)

1st-level: Improved Initiative (Bonus Feat), Nimble Moves
2nd-level:
3rd-level: Spell Focus (Evocation)
4th-level:
5th-level: Greater Spell Focus (Evocation)
6th-level:
7th-level: Silent Spell, Still Spell (Bonus Feat)
8th-level:
9th-level: Empower Spell
So far...:

Aye, I choose empower spell. I did it because it makes your blasts more versatile. Ie. your fireball does a max damage of 10d6 in a radious. Cone of cold does 15d6 in a .. well cone :0) Empowering the fireball would net you a 15d6 radius blast as a 5th-level spell instead of the cone. I find it handy to be able to "shape" your blasting-spells like this. And being a sorcerer means you can do it when you need it.

That being said I also love crowdcontrolling, and depending on your party it can be extremely potent. Somtimes blasting just dosent cut it, I have to admit.

I choose the folowing spells (doing it from memory, so it might be a little off):

0-level: Message, Read Magic, Detect Magic, Acid Splash, Mage Hand, presdigitation, Light.

1st-level: Mage Armor (Bonus), Grease, Enlarge Person, Protection from alignment (or was it magic missiles...hmm), Ray of Enfeeblement, Silent Image.

2nd-level: Invisibility (Bonus), Scorching Rays, Web, Glitterdust, Resist Energy.

3rd-level: (Bonus), Fireball, Haste, Slow (or lightning bolt. I cant remember. Slow is prolly best though, but for thematics I like "LB")

4th-level: Dimension Door (Bonus, but not yet), Black Tentacles, Fear

I would only use spells to do damage to a bunch of targets. Let the fireball hit 10 enemies at once and not 3. With an average just above 30 damage (at CL 9)on the dices (excluding saves which is why you wannt all the +DCs), thats gonna be over 200 damage with a little luck. You might wanna be flying or invisible ofcourse.

Cheers!

"Lacerta" is latin for lizard.

"Sobek" is the ancient egyptan god for crocodiles, power, protection, and fertility.

"Sauros" is greek for lizard.

With a little fantasy either could be changed to make a "kewl" name imho.

Good luck with your new race god ;0)

Cheers!

EDIT: Depending on how scientific you want to be. I suppose the correct name would be something like "Homo lacerta" hehe

Love guides... and this one too.

Thanks mate!
