I'm thinking of creating a character who used Necromancy to dig up and preserve fossils and ancient bones via animated dead, but I don't know how to go about with it. A summoner with undead eidolon and archeologist dedication comes to mind but Any advice would be appreciated in advance.

Thanks!

Scarab Sages

The idea of Spider sucker punching people with their legs has been keeping me giggle at night of late. I'm tempted to make one for Stolen Fate though I have no idea how to go about it proper.

Again, any Feedbacks would be utmost appreciated.

Thanks!

chime-ringer is problematic as it has only a lvl 4 feat, next one is lvl 10 - you would have to talk to your DM about the "two other feats" rule.

marshal is a great archetype, made for charisma melee classes like champion, thaumaturge etc.
If you have a bard in your group you should coordinate, but otherwise the to hit bonus is really nice to have.

I suppose, in theory, I could Skip Fleet Tempo and take Chime-Ringer at level 6 or 8 to take the rest of its feat.

I'm working on a new PC Champion for Stolen Fate (Free Archetypes Allowed) and I was wondering which archetype would work better for a defensive front-liner (Redeemer) and/or an offensive front-liner (Tyrant).

All feedbacks are appreciated in advance.

Thanks!

My DM told me to retrain my level 8 Gnoll Runelord for our upcoming AV session as the archetype will be affected by remastered change to Spell Schools.

I still want to play a martial wizard so any advice on a new build to replace the current one would be most appreciate. Thank you in Advance!

P.S. My stat are currently 18/12/16/19/10/10, taking Runelord/Sentinel/Time-mage Combo atm. in case you need this info to help with them advices. Again, Thanks in Advance!

I'm currently playing a kobold oracle of Dragon Mystery and I am wondering which build would worth taking, assuming that my character will level cap around 15?

I'm commissioning an artist to draw a player character who happens to be a member of Taldor major noble house when It comes to my attention that I can't find any picture depicting his Noble Insignia in the Adventure Path. Does anyone know where I can find the insignia of each Taldor Noble House or was there never been any as I should make an original insignia for an artist to draw into the banner instead?

Best Regards,

One of the weaknesses of Tech weapons is a lack of bonus damage. Taking Techslinger to 5th level will let you add dex to damage for one specific tech weapon.

If you don't mind making a very dedicated character, you could make a Spellslinger and advance to become a Technomancer at 6th. Not exactly a healer, but if your group is lacking a dedicated crafter this is the person that would understand tech best and will use any tech firearm to throw spells with.

If you go Cleric, Brigh fits remarkably well.

Which Domains are you suggest that I should take as Cleric of Brigh, assuming that I may either playing a ratfolk or a tengu.

From what I see it, we are lacking dedicate gunner and healer atm.

Scarab Sages

Will taking Blackpower Inquisition as a cleric be suffice?

Scarab Sages

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The Current Theme is that the PC is a ratfolk but in truth, he's a ysoki who's coming along the starship that's fallen from space. He has some knowledge with tech gun but is hardwired to never become more knowledgeable about him due to multiple high tier Technic League's memory alter magic that he needs to overcome throughout the AP.

As for the class, I'm thinking of creating a Gunslinger 1/X Pure or Off divine spellcaster class. The party doesn't have a tech gun user or healer atm but they said I should play any class I want despite the fact that Paizo AP would beg otherwise. I can make my ratfolk under 25 Point Buy with two traits, one of which must be a campaign trait, and start off at level 3.

Thank you for all your help in advance.

Regards,
Hiwamari.

Scarab Sages

Thank you, Diego. I appreciate your help :)

Scarab Sages

I've made two digital purchases, but they do not appear in My Downloads Section. If you can fix this issue, I'd make me a happy man.

Being a devotee of Cayden Caliean in a homebrew game, my first level character is sailing from Korvosa to Absalom and I wonder if anyone can give me any suggestion on a drink that I can buy and donate to Temple of the Dunken Hero in Absalom? I have 100gp to spare so I think I'm looking for a keg-size drink with a stated price, based on Pathfinder Material.

Thanks for helping me, I appreciate it.

Scarab Sages

Sorry about that. I saw this thread around 3AM and was not in my clearest of mind when I posted it T-T

Scarab Sages

Assuming that I intend to get Cavalier to Level 2 and then spends 4 levels as beastmaster ranger, taking boon companion feat at level 3 and picking the same animal companion as my cavalier's mount, what would be your mount's effective level at level 6 and 7?

Scarab Sages

I'm hoping to run a Kobold with an occult class in one of my AP.

If anyone has any good suggestions, I'd like to hear it.

Thanks!

You treat the natural attack as a secondary attack, meaning that it takes a -5 penalty to hit and you only apply half your strength modifier to damage. The two-weapon fighting with weapons remains unchanged.

In other word, my full attack is going to be -2/-2/-5 from one hand/off-hand/tail slap? Assuming I have TWF, of course.

Scarab Sages

Let say that I have one tail slap as my natural attack, how will my full attack work if I strike a creature with my one hand, off hand, and tail slap with my Two-weapon fighting Feat?

Scarab Sages

Is it better to take Elve's Darkvision Trait since I'm going to end up with light sensitivity via Cryptbreker's Mutagen anyway?

Scarab Sages

I'll be playing Carrion Crown two days from now and my GM said that I should Multiclass a class with trapsense since I'm an elven cutpurse who can't disarm magic trap atm.

My GM suggested that I should either try Crypt Breaker or Trapper/Freebooter so what do you guys think of it?

We are playing on 22 point spend so:

If I take Crypt, my final ability points will be:

Str 8
Dex 19
Con 12
Int 18
Wis 10
Cha 7

If I take Trapper/Freeboot, my final ability points will be:

Str 8
Dex 19
Con 12
Int 16
Wis 11
Cha 10

Both Choice will take Point Blank Shot as the first feat atm. All Ability Scores and First Feat are subjected to change, though.

Scarab Sages

Do you make a character for pathfinder society or adventure path? I ask this because primalist archetype is illegal in PFS.

As for two-handers, I might suggest you to take destined bloodline with fate's favor as your trait.

Without a doubt, I'd say Confirmation. It's the intro of intro modules. It gets players right off into what's expected of their characters in the Society.

I've bought the Pdf version of Confirmation this morning. It looks like a good session for both GM and Players IMO.

Scarab Sages

You're a GM hosting for new players and you can pick only one PFS scenario, one Pathfinder Module, and one Pathfinder Adventure Path to welcome them.

Which scenario, module, and adventure path will you pick?

I've recently hosting The Wounded Wisp in PFS, and I was wondering if there's any good module and adventure path that I could host for my newcomers.

Thanks!

Claws (Su)

At 1st level, you grow claws while bloodraging. These claws are treated as natural weapons, allowing you to make two claw attacks as a full attack, using your full base attack bonus. These attacks deal 1d6 points of damage each (1d4 if you are Small) plus your Strength modifier. At 4th level, these claws are considered magic weapons for the purpose of overcoming damage resistance. At 8th level, the damage increases to 1d8 points (1d6 if you are Small). At 12th level, these claws become flaming weapons, which deal an additional 1d6 points of fire damage on a hit.

based on the aforementioned description and assumed that I have Strength mod of +3, Is my total claw damage:

(1d6+3)x 1.5STR

or

(1d6)x 1.5STR?

Thanks in advance!

The Nagaji are also an interesting option. I would probably go for the Kitsune though (call me biased, but Kitsune are just plain awesome)

However, the Tengu are automatically proficient with all swords. Tough (they might make better Swashbucklers)

My best advice is not to go for the most optimal character ever, but just whatever you feel would be a fun concept; sub-optimal characters usually provide the most room for creativity.

I'm interest in making a nagaji bloodrager. What would you suggest for the build?

Scarab Sages

Ahh that's good. I take it you will be taking fated bloodrage at level 8?

Scarab Sages

How much extra luck bonus you will gain from taking Destined with fate's favor anyway?

Scarab Sages

I don't think it's nerf though I'd like to read the slew of errata that you mentioned.

That's what I took, it's really hard to say no to power attack with 3 primary natural attacks, even if it means a terrible will save for a couple levels.

Would it be better to take Steadfast Personality to remedy Cross-blooded Shaperager's wis penalty? It should cancel out the penalty and you can take power attack at level 3

Assuming I have the following stat:

STR 12
DEX 16
Con 14
Int 10
Wis 10
Cha 16

The Feat should give me +3 Will Save so I'll have +1 will save over -2 Will Save from Drawback.

Haste is good for everyone not just you.

The fighter will love it. Casting it on a group is what makes it so good. Getting boots is great but that keeps everyone else from getting haste.

As crafting wonderous goes add +5 to craft DC if you didn't take haste as a spell known.

I already have haste and fireball on my spell known list, so I should be fine with crafting it at normal craft DC.

Scarab Sages

Corwin Illum wrote:

If it were me, I would get haste via boots. My vote for a third level spell would be Force Hook Charge, or Vampiric Touch. Though I think the first is awesome for flavor and doing cool things.

Spell combat force hook charge, use your boots to haste you up and you will be flying around the battlefield full attacking.

I do have craft wonderous item feat. Perhaps I can craft Boot of Speed using my haste spell and some gold?

Scarab Sages

Tormad wrote:

A little round about but you could take the Extra Arcana feat, pick up spell blending, and then use that to get heroism.

Haste is a great party buff, but remember it does not give YOU an extra attack while using spell combat. Apparently they changed that ruling at some point. Haste is just as viable as heroism is then, you will be your fighter and rouge's best friend.

Haste it is then. Thanks :)

Scarab Sages

Here's the composition of our Party.

- A Sword and Tower Shield Fighter.
- A Rogue with 5 Con who'll soon turn into a zombie werewolf.
- A Channel Expert Cleric with tower shield. (Who doesn't have tower shield proficiency)

I'm a Bladebound Kensai who just leveled up to seven, which will allow me to take one 3rd level spell via my Int's Bonus.

My gut reaction suggests that I should either take Fireball or Haste though I'm uncertain of which spell would benefit our group the most

Hence, I'd like to hear from you guys.

If you have other 3rd-level magus spell in mind, I'd like to hear it as well.

Thanks in advance :)

Going crossblooded with 1/2 Destined will eventually patch your AC and Will save back up to where it should be.

Abyssal/Destined or Draconic/Destined?

I believe I can take Steadfast Personality to remedy its -2 wis penalty.

I already have bite,so I guess getting two claws will be my primary concern for now.

I'll ask Gm whether I can take Primalist Archetype for his skull and shackle campaign, though.

It'd really help to know what your Race is, because "I have a Bite" widdles you down to about a half-dozen races.

We're playing a homebrew game with custom Races. Mine happen to be a gryphon bloodrager with following racial traits:

Type:
Fey
Ability Scores:
+2 Strength, +2 charisma, -2 Wisdom
Size:
Medium
Base Speed:
30 feet
Quadraped:
+4 racial bonus to their Combat Maneuver Defense against trip attacks.
Flight:
flying speed of 40 feet with poor maneuverability. Fly becomes a class skill.
Sense:
Low Light Vision
Bite:
Griffons have a bite attack that does 1d6 damage

Bloodrealm wrote:
You could go Draconic Bloodline with Primalist and Rageshaper archetypes and get 3 to 8 levels of Dragon Disciple (apparently a recent FAQ ruled that DD does indeed improve Bloodrager Bloodline). You get a snazzy bite attack along with your bloodline claws, and at 16th level you get to become a Large dragon (that's 6 attacks!) when you rage!

I'll ask my GM and see if it's legal to use Primalist or not.

Scarab Sages

I already have bite,so I guess getting two claws will be my primary concern for now.

I'll ask Gm whether I can take Primalist Archetype for his skull and shackle campaign, though.

Scarab Sages

How to make it work within this class and what archetype would be the best for this class? Do I need two weapon fighting to be better hitter with my natural weapons?

Lastly, should I better off be a natural attacking unchained barbarian than a natural attacking bloodrager?

Thanks in advance for the help, I really appreciate it.

Regards,

Hiwamari

P.S: I'm taking either Abyssal or Draconic for extra claws with my racial bite.

Scarab Sages

Magus have just leveled up in Ravenloft campaign, and I'm allow to take Harmonic Blending as the feat reward.

I can either A.) Take one 2rd level bard spell or B.) Take two 1st level bard spells. Which bard spell would you suggest me to take if I am to choose either one of these two choice?

Thanks in advance!

Scarab Sages

He said he's fine with me taking Trapfinder trait (Mummy's Mask). He also reminded me that I will have to replace my defensive strategist trait to cope my crappy kensai's flatfoot AC (13). I told him I will think of it, though.

Scarab Sages

Hmm...is there a way to collect a trap for later use in Pathfinder?

Scarab Sages

Can I throw a stone or poke it with a reach weapon to trigger magic traps? Our DM tends to enjoy placing trap right on the bottleneck path (I.E. Narrow bridge and corridor).

Scarab Sages

It's turned out that our current party will head into a campaign (Level 6-10) without a rogue and despite the fact that I'm a magus with disable device skill, I won't be able to disable any magic trap.

Is there anyway to indirectly disarm a magic trap without having a trapfinding skill?

My current solution is to use master thieve tools + Traveler's any tool ,posing as the extender, in hope to trigger magic trap from the distance though I don't think it will work against AOE trap such as fireball and cloudkill.

Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks!

Scarab Sages

Just want to be sure:

So you can spend your arcane pool to give your black blade an ability (I.E: Keen) but you can't upgrade it via money and crafting, yes?

I was wondering about this because if I can use my arcane pool to give my rapier black blade a keen ability, I might as well be a normal kensai instead of the Bladebound Kensai.

Scarab Sages

Thanks for the link, Snowblind, it's an interest read :)

With the PC being Natural Good, I suppose Command Undead won't be an option then?

Anyway, I'm currently working on Human Bladebound Kensai/Unarmed Fighter. His random dice rolling stat is 16,15,14,13,13,13 as we will start the campaign at level 6.

Since He's still qualified for either 1 2nd-level wizard spell or 2 1st-level spells. Which spell would you suggest that I should take to even the odd in Ravenloft?

Other than that, I also tempt to take Unarmed Fighter to gain Crane Style, Crane riposte (5th Level Feat + Unarmed Fighter's Bonus Feat) and chain it with Crane Wing afterward (7th Level Feat).

If you guys have any idea for the strength based magus, I'd like to hear it <3

Scarab Sages

Will I ruin the campaign if I cast command undead most of the time? The magus I created is intending to get one via spell blending atm.

Scarab Sages

Which one is the most useful in and out of combat?

Scarab Sages

Hmm,fighter archer, hunter, and zen archer look promising as well. I need to look at them when I get my chance.

Scarab Sages

I've been trying to figure out a direction for my level 3 Sword Saint Samurai. She has taken Deadly Aim,Point Blank Shot, and weapon expertise (Longbow), and now I'm looking forward to multiclass her in a range-based class for the remaining of her PFS career.

Can anyone help me with suggestions regarding which ranged base class/archetype that I should Multiclass at level 4 and so forth?

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

Scarab Sages

I've been having a hard time figuring this out,so should anyone has the summarized table of how much one must pay at X level to change feats, class, archetype, etc. Please link it here, for I'm happy to learn about it as we speak.

Thanks!

Scarab Sages

When a samurai grant his weapon expertise to Longbow, does it extend to his composite longbow as well?
