It's a common comment about the AP, although it's not quite as much whiplash as Second Darkness (in Part 1 you take over running a casino, and then all of a sudden you're altruistically taking on drow out of nothing more than the goodness of your hearts).

I also didn't have a fever last time I had it. Both times I've had it, though, my major symptom--and the one that lasts longest--is that my heart rate would jump to like 120 bpm if I went up a couple of stairs. Walking quickly I'd easily get to 140 bpm or higher. And that didn't go away for a month or so. On the other hand, I've read that the best way to avoid long COVID is to do as little as possible for at least a month after you get over the primary phase, and the heart rate spikes made that easy.

Omast doesn't like half-orcs--I'd better not mention that part yet. "So it looks like someone deliberately killed Rodrik, tried to make it look like suicide, and is willing to kill again to cover their tracks. Now, you can crawl back into the bottle and let them get away with it...or you can pull yourself together and help us find out who did it. That's your choice, Sergeant."

This doesn't feel like a chance killing--there's too much of planning that went into it, and some sort of motive we're not seeing yet." She shrugs.
