Hessiah moves to get cover and also to get a clear view of the enemy. He again hurls an arcane bolt at one of the enemies.

Ranged Touch Attack and Fire Dart Damage (1d20+2=12, 1d3=3)

Hessiah moves near Brock.

If Hessiah can still act and there is an enemy within range he fires off a fire dart.

Ranged Touch Attack and Fire Dart Damage (1d20+3=14, 1d3=3)

Hessiah delays his action and waits for Brock to lead the way.He will then follow, firing off spells at the enemy.

Just reserve the attack roll for the next round.

Having problem accessing IC; Rolling dice. Init 19+6= 25; Ranged Touch Attack 14+2= 16; Damage 1

A ball of fire forms in Hessiah's right hand. He hurls it at the nearest enemy.

Black Tom, please place Hessiah at L1.

Init; Ranged Touch Attack for Flame Dart; Flame Dart Damage (1d20+6=18, 1d20+2=10, 1d3=3)

Hessiah flings a flame dart at one of the guards. He hangs back and moves to a flanking position so he can rain spells on the enemy without fear of immediate retribution.

"Yes to the temple." Hessiah assents enthusiastically.

Alright. Hessiah casts one of his "hexes" on one of the thugs.

"What say we you tell us what we need to know?" Hessiah tells the charmed one.

"We can make it worth your while plus you can get even on them for abandoning you."

"Sounds reasonable, yes?"

"Greetings, Warenhari. I am Hessiah."

Interrogation? Call it persuasion. Kill one of them then the rest will be persuaded to spill their guts.

The thugs stir, except for the one who met the sharp end of Brock's axe (who is unconscious, but alive). Sullenly they sit up and glare at you.

"You guys want me to persuade them?"

Quick and Spark wrote:

"Round 'em up," Quick instructs. She helps to bring all the dying thugs close together. "And take away their weapons."

Quick closes her eyes for a second, and a white light lashes out from her, healing wounds 6hp within 30ft. "This'll stop the bleeding."

"As for the sobbing woman, talk to Hessiah."

"Don't look at me like that! I didn't molest her or anything! I was very nice to her. You guys saw, right?"

Ranged Touch Attack; Fire Dart Damage (1d20+2=11, 1d3=3)

Hessiah takes another five foor step away from the woman and again tosses a ball of fire at one of the remaining "viking" warriors.

"Brock, we're in need of your great presence!"

welcome aboard :D

Ranged Touch Attack; Fire Dart Damage (1d20+2=15, 1d3=1)

"Since you want to stick your collective noses where they don't belong... have at you then!"

Hessiah takes a five foot step away from the woman and hurls fire at the leader.

Let the hostilities begin.

"Brock, show them who's the real warrior here!"

"Bothering the lady? Surely not. Father Beamus, sent us here to help her. Only a complete idiot will not see that she is under one of her fits. And you great warriors are surely the most clever of chaps I have ever laid my eyes on."

Bluff (1d20+7=18)

I leave it up to you if you will add other modifiers.

Init (1d20+6=25)

Will post action later. IC is not cooperating.

So the plan calls for a stakeout?

"We should also oil the expected path of our target so we can maximize the utility of my spells."

Burning Hands.

"Thank you very much, dear lady."

"Gawd damn it! I'll fillet whoever took my cash!"

Hessiah mutters weird words and makes strange gestures.

Will Save DC 14 for the woman to avoid being charmed.

"I need your help, lady. Someone stole from me. And I am very generous."

It's up to Brock to protect Hessiah from his obliviousness.

Perception (1d20+1=5)

Hessiah is not paying attention.

I'll post again in ten (10) hours, have an appeal brief to file.

"And this friend of yours who told you about his misgiving regarding the temple of the moon, what exactly did he tell you? Unless it's part of a confessional."

"Father Beamus, I admire a man of faith and would like to make a donation. Pardon the paltry sum." 10 cp

"But if my fortune turns I'll be sure to come back. The gawds appreciate those who give thanks for the gifts that they receive from them, yes?"

"Now can you tells us more about the temple of the moon. Surely not just theological misunderstanding?"

Hessiah nods, "I get a feeling we would need all the sleep we could get."

"Let's rest and meet up later at Quick's room."

"So Quick, what did you find out while I was 'engaged'?"

Looking at Brock and Juliare, "And what happened to you two?"

Tom, what are the uses of a hero point?

For Tom

Spoiler:
By "engage", you mean small talk, right?

Tom and Quick

Spoiler:
Hessiah reads the thing written in Draconic. What does it say?

For Tom and Quick

Spoiler:
"The Temple of the Moon? This place looks like it is dedicated to death. Are you sure want to go inside?" Hessiah looks skeptical.

"I'm not one to argue with an expert."

"Let's go find them. I get the feeling we can't leave them alone without them getting into trouble."

"Perhaps, these Quinchinos would be willing to pay a reward for eliminating the bandits. What do you think, Quick?"

Black Tom wrote:

I don't have my books with me at the moment, but please roll and we'll see what you and Quick find out.

Diplomacy (1d20+7=14)

Try a cartographer, or the assessor's office, or the local merchants.

"Try getting a map of the area while you're at it."

Can I take twenty on the diplomacy check?

Hessiah searches for more information on the bandits. In particular, he wants to know who their victims were and if these victims were running goods in competition to one or all of the big merchants. He wants to rule out the idea that these bandits are enforcers of the aforesaid merchants.

Brock Brightmore wrote:

Brock Calms a little when Juliare steps between him and Quick, and As she steps away and Hessiah compliments him on his strength he smiles, "You are right".

"Of course, I am right."

"Actually, I was thinking of cutting an extra deal with the Trade Guild. We rid them of a problem and they provide us with extra cash and help. All we need do is package the proposal properly."

"Hence, we need to find information on how much of a pest our quarry is."

"Brock, leave Quick alone. We know you are not a coward. Why only a fool would doubt your courage? Look at those muscles why they can probably topple a tower. That steely gaze in your eyes is reminiscent of heroes from a great ballad. So you see whatever it is that you heard is something that is not directed to you. Please sit down and have some ale."

"Whatever is the case, let's discuss the matter of our plan in private."

There are couple of things we will need: a map of the area, a schedule of caravans and a meeting with the trade guild, aside from the usual equipment. Can someone try to find out how many bandit comprises this particular gang? We don't want to be caught unprepared to reduce their numbers.

"Onward then."

"Information is power, Brock. Hence, we shall discover whatever we can about our quarry before pursuing him. We wouldn't want to leave our acquisition of the prize to chance." Hessiah says in a hypnotic voice, the afternoon sun giving his green skin a sinister cast.

Hessiah smiles at the half-elf, "Hessiah, recently of these parts, pleased to meet you. Shall we discuss the matter of division of labor and rewards? We wouldn't want there to be any misunderstanding later."
