Thanks!

Playing thru 'Approach to Thistletop' for first time today which gives Goblins additional 1d4. Not to mention the location 'Goblin Fortress' gives additional 2.

Question is does Gogmurt get buffs on both checks?

Defeating Gogmurt is 10/12. Say I roll a 4 on 1d4 in Goblin Fortress. Does is check then become 16/18 or can we pick and choose which skill gets which buff? In this case I can make him 14/14 or 12/16.

Thanks, I'll keep scouring rule book for this in the meantime.

I thought you had to shuffle location deck after you encounter the monster.

Yep! I have only played base set but I know closing general store leaves 4-5 items in the location for players to try to acquire.

Wanted to point out that I didn't notice the "game designer" after your name when I posted that so I feel like an idiot now for agreeing with what you obviously knew. LOL.

I had similar situation with Valeros playing solo. I was down to last 3-4 cards which included a longsword +1 which I was able to recharge instead of discard for an extra dice.

I thought for sure I was gonna die but fought off last few cards with some good rolls. It was epic.

The one exception is Ambush.

A player had a situation where Ambush was last card in a location so there were no monsters to pull.

The designer called that Ambush gets banished after you check for monsters.

I have a house rule that Ambush gets random monster from box instead of the location.

Thanks!

So I am currently playing Local Heroes solo with Valeros. The scenario states I must close all locations to win. (No villain; allies are considered henchman since they burn blessing deck if you fail to acquire)

My question is specifically for the Woods location. Since there is no villain in this scenario the only way to close it is by succeeding at a wisdom or survival 6 check which is impossible since Valeros only has d4 wisdom. Even with a blessing 2d4 it's a tough roll.

So does it not get closed and lose the game? I'm considering at least clearing the entire location as a victory.

What do you guys think? At least in normal scenarios I could trap villain in woods and close via combat.
