Hey guys
I'm afraid I will be unavailable for roughly the next three days.
Feel free to bot Hase as necessary.
"What happened here?" Hase asks the Guide.
When Sustos bows, Hase shakes himself
"Thank you for warning us." he bows and moves to the open door.
"Overseer - is there a way to avoid detection by the sides? Is my normal preparation sufficient?"Mind Blank is up
Wrong country... but I noticed all my PbPs seemed to stop because of it, thought that might be the case here ;P
"I have found it is usually easier to destroy than to create"
"Alright - so we want to help heaven, or stop the war. Are you allowed to enumerate paths that have these goals?"
"And Desna is on the side of heaven?"
Hase asks, all too aware of how often those he thought were on the side of the angels had turned out to have a different agenda.
Hase sits, stunned, through most of the presentation.
"Do we need to stop both sides using their capabilities, or just one?"

Yeah, I've tried to react as stunned. A lot of what I've done since the invite has been "hold on and follow directions".
I know that at this level a lot of the rp is agonizing over what to do, rather than just how to do it, but given the goal is "save the world" and there seems to be only one thing that knows how to do that, there's no real reason to debate it.
Incidentally the "what should you do" aspect is the reason Hase's cohort is guarding his people, rather than along for the trip.
I think we were putting things together in the prelude, but had to shut it down in order to get through to the invite scene, and have been waiting to talk to the (post-divine?) author of that note.
Post length wise, I'm not sure what detail you want in posts. I am reluctant to extend narrative control over elements of the game not directly tied to my character without a clear invite. I believe I'm telegraphing or outright announcing Hase's thought processes. I can use more words, but I'm not sure it will have a greater narrative impact than the current, briefer posts.
Assuming that the game becomes more proactive after our discussion with the invite's author, I'm interested.
Hase abandons the refreshments and sits at the table.
"This is surreal." Hase mutters, wandering over to the refreshments.
"I've never heard of Xergius"
Unconsciously Hase steps closer to Xara as they move into the 'conference room'
Australia. Good luck guys!
Knowledge: Nature/planes 1d20 + 36 ⇒ (3) + 36 = 39
Hase breaks step for a moment
"What" he asks quietly "Is that?"
Hase talks to Guide
"Are we outside the conventional timestream?"
Sure, I would have been some annoying newb 5 levels lower than you. But you would have been lime Elmister to me :)
Hase stops for a second, and turns to those following him.
"I missed a few words there. Did anyone follow all that? I think something went wrong with getting us here. All but slagged the Academy. Hopefully Derric's quick thinking saved people."
I should have done something. I guess Derric's just more experienced than me at this.
"Also, forgive me, but who the Abyss are you?" this last directed to Sustos Figure I'd know the names, but might not recognise the aces. Gelein - have we met in our history? I know we talked about it...
Hase blinks in the new light, still stunned by what has happened. He glances around at the people around him.
"Do we?" he starts to ask, then stops, catches himself and strides briskly towards the figure, trying to look confident.
"I am Hase. Are you the one who sent me the invitation?"
Hase does his best not to look convey how shaken and horrified he is.
"I'll be... I'm okay. How're you? You've got more experience than me. Do you have any idea what in the Abyss that was?"
Before I post (and speak), has the iron body worn off?
Hase, unable to cast anything or even call out, holds grimly onto the button, trying to remember the faces he'll have to resurrect when this is all over.
Hase, not known for his patience, presses the button a few more times, then holds it down.
Hase stands a little apart from the others, on a beautiful lush lawn (a few feet from his left foot is a "Keep off the grass" sign that he ignored.)
He reaches into his pack and pulls out the frozen body of Noiso. He regrets he didn't leave more of a message for his parents, for his friends, for Rogar - but to try to do so is to risk his invitation disappearing, and therefore risking his chance to stop the Godwar.
Hase presses the button.
Sure - house rule for creatures with no respiration?
@DM Fnord - Quick thought - do the spells work?
Hase starts casting, adding
"No, Xara. That looked like some enormous spell. I didn't cast it, and before I started panicking I wanted to check you hadn't either."
Hase casts Stilled Iron Body - his best defence spell. This *might* be an attack, after all.
Hase turns to his companions, some of the greatest arcane powers in the land
"Was that you?"
The heck? spellcraft 1d20 + 41 ⇒ (12) + 41 = 53
Seems reasonable assumption to me
Hase was spending some time setting up a demiplane for evacuation (he doesn't know the effort is doomed). If anyone of you wants to evac people there they are welcome too. His plan is to leave his Cohort looking after it, so if you guys want to take your lieutenants Hase can ask him to look after your people too.
Hase nods, and heads to the Library
"I think we should split up. I'll start looking through this library. We can meet up tomorrow and share notes. Where?" Hase's voice is abrupt and clipped.
Hase relays his cryptic clue
"So, the Tower. The Academae. Anywhere else likely to have information? Or any one?"
Can Hase make a knowledge roll to identify places most likely to have the information?
"Have you heard of the Library of Ages?"
Hase is nonplussed
"Huh - I guess that works. With Xara's rep I sort of expected something more... arcane."
@Gelein: I did. Isn't it awesome! Solves so much of the problem OOC. I just couldn't see Hase being cold hearted enough to consider his familiar expendable as long as the spells were backed up. Ended up spending way more on an item to make it harder to kill.
Hase was planning to spend a day casting as many create greater demiplanes as he can so that he can evacuate at least a fraction of Golarion's population. As long as he doesn't discover the planes are disintegrating, he'll probably still do it.
"Do you have some sort of communication ability with Xara? I'm wondering if she has heard of it." Hase asks Fritz.
Assume knowledge rolls won't help with library of ages?
"So, Fritz. Ever heard of the Library of Ages?"
Added Nosoi note. Is that okay?
I thought we were on day 1?
Hase meditates upon his question, sending it... somewhere.
"How do I stop this world from being devastated."
"Alright Fritz - can you keep the people away. I'm playing with a lot of power here, and while it should be safe, being distracted could be a very bad thing."
Hase starts to perform his divination.
"Well Fritz, before the explosion I was talking about doing a Divination. What do you think - worth trying?"
How is the woman Fritz and Hase are helping?
Confident his companions had matters well in hand, Hase jogged over to Fritz.
"How is she?"
Are the Hellknights still advancing?
Hase feels the anger rise in his chest as the old woman is crushed, and with the anger comes the Scream, rising from his chest to his throat.
No, hold it in. Can't start a fight here...
His self control strangles the scream stillborn as his anger is distracted by the explosion.
Hase calms down a little when Derric confides his calm demeanour is a facade and the necessity not to appear frightened.
"Sorry Derric - you're right."
Taking a few deep breaths he gets hold of himself.
"One of the students here saw that the kidnapped astronomer had a stellar drawing. Looked like a conjunction of the planets of the solar system - and part of the drawing indicated that there'd be a smaller conjunction involving the moons and planets of the inner system first. Maybe they were referring to a convergence?"
"Also, it's weird, but when you mentioned your dreams I had the strangest sense of deja vu. Something I dreamed about a coin. Flashes of scenes."
Concentrating he continues
"Shelyn triumphant over Zon-Kuthon. Shelyn and Asmodeus fighting together. A golden coffin and a giant statue - and people praying. A dead god?"
He shakes his head "I'll go looking through my memories tonight, see if I can get more detail."
Hase still tries to grapple with the concept
"So you're saying this could be an actual war of the actual gods? That's... that's like The End Of All Things! Rovagug breaks free bad! How can you be so calm about it?"
