Harren has, since birth, been a member of an ancient Pharasmin order. He was pledged by his mother, a particularly poor and devout gnome. Before the beginning of the Age of Lost Omens, the order cataloged and maintained the many prophecies of Pharasma and were held in high esteem. Their vaults were impregnable, their records immaculate, and their scholars preeminent.
Following the death of Aroden, the order is a shade of its former glory. Madness drove meany of the scholars to death and more to deep paranoia. The prophecies were scattered to the corners of the world kept by madmen or lost in dangerous locales. The order now works to reclaim these prophecies and to gain what was lost.
Because the prophecies have scattered, a scholarly disposition is no longer the chief requirement of members of the order. Harren's skills reflect that. He frequently leads missions to recover the most important prophecies. He has become an accomplished scout, stealthy as the wind, rarely caught by a hidden trap, and a decent (proxy) combatant in a pinch.
