I hadn't gone and looked up the adventure; I'd assumed if the DM wanted to tell more about the adventure he would, and I didn't want to potentially throw any spoilers my way.

Sorry that you interpreted my comments as whining. I was trying to point out that an adventuring group which "...will accept any work that falls into those fields in exchange for food and lodging (though if the person is in dire need, Steed has often been known to pressure them to work completely for free)" doesn't have much of a place for someone LN, which is one of the alignments the DM okayed. Just some constructive criticism so that maybe the group could be reworked to be more accommodating.

But whatevs, you obviously like your group how it is and I think I'm okay sitting this game out. I've played plenty of characters acting good for the sake of good, and didn't care to play that this game, so I'll just withdraw myself.

As Steed's Samaritans are written, I don't think my own character would fit in with them; I wasn't planning on playing someone who risks his life on a constant basis without expecting any compensation. You say you just want good Samaritans, but the Samaritan didn't risk his life to help someone, and in fact lost practically nothing for his act. I think Shuo would definitely help an injured half-orc along the road; I don't know that he would if doing so puts his life in jeopardy. I was told LN would be okay, and my character definitely sits in the LN area.

It's hard to do this stuff now when I don't even know if I'm playing; I wouldn't want you to change the group based on my suggestions if I'm not playing in this game.

I wasn't planning on having Han Shuo be as LG as membership for the Samaritans would entail; though he'll help others in need, I doubt he'd put his life on the line for a complete stranger. In addition, he'd be highly devoted to the church of Irori, which would mean attachment outside the Samaritans. His primary drive, a desire to spread knowledge and improve himself, doesn't seem like it would mesh with a philanthropic monster-hunting group; though the two don't exactly contradict, he wouldn't gain much through such an association.

Of course, if everyone but me likes the idea of the Samaritans I could rework my character's personality.

Here's Shane's character; if you okay Extra Performance, it'll replace Toughness. My basic mode of operation is to move in close with Acrobatics and lock one person down with Scorpion Style and/or Stunning Fist. Gonna be more of a supportive character than a damage dealer.

I may add some background and personality at a later point (unless I'm selected, then I'll definitely add these things).
