At first glance, Hailey often gets taken as just another fashion plate. The long auburn hair, trim and curvy figure normally encased in a short skirt and tight fitting blouse under a leather jacket. In another life, she may have found her way onto a runway, or a bikini magazine shoot. Her talent with magic, however pushed her into a different type of profession entirely.
Early on Hailey started working with trinkets, and found that she could imbue them with bit of her essence to create different effects. Protection, charm, at first, simple things that merely gave her an advantage in school, or socially. Soon though, she found out how to create charms that would help track down lost items. Eventually this got her the attention of the Paranormal Investigations Dept. Too young to be hired on as an agent, she was contracted to help find paranormal criminals. She made enough to put herself through college with a degree in anthropology, specializing in the occult. During this time she started to dabble in more serious magics, including summoning. She worked with summoning light creatures, pixies and fairies mostly, but one incident got the attention of something darker, and dangerous. She shut down the summoning once she realized what was coming, but the touch of it left a mark on her aura that PID wouldn’t overlook. Her goal of joining the force was shattered. For the most part, the agents of the PID think she got a raw deal, but more than a few still hold resentment for her dabbling in dark arts, as evidenced by her spotted aura.
Now, she still has contacts with the PID, and they still come to her when they need to find someone, or too often, some thing. The pay, when coupled with the money she gets working for the things sometimes actually pays better than if she were an actual agent, even if it doesn’t give the clear conscience. But then, a living is a living. Hailey tries to do right, but there are sometimes when the job is in a…grey area.
Armed with potions, charms, and a unique potion delivery system (aka paintball gun), she feels adequately armed against the supernatural, and her fearless demeanor often leads to positive results. Still there are times….
