Yeah, I play 1e. Typically as a divine caster with a focus on keeping the party alive.

Casters shine best with creativity and high level cc/buff/debuff/summon spells.

Most games don't reach high level though, so I prefer divine casters greatly over arcane.

has the potential to give people the entirely wrong idea about real-world cultures and practices. And that can be extremely damaging.

The wendigo is a great example of this. The actual wendigo story does not involve a flying, footless zombie-ghost with a deer head. But some guy heard some stuff, wrote a short story with some alterations which inspired a movie that took his version as a fact and altered it further...fast forward to The Incredible Hulk fighting a guy called The Wendigo.
Then you consider how the native tribes of North America were subjected to literal and cultural genocide and how their people are struggling to pass on their traditions to the next generation...and suddenly, misrepresenting what is a very serious, very important piece of a culture's spiritual beliefs is basically an attack on the culture itself.

Ok, I don't see how changing a make believe story hurts anyone. I think people should have thicker skin than that and worry about more tangible problems. It also doesn't relate to Pathfinder. Who in their right mind would get offended at Pathfinder? They're just looking to be offended at that point, imo. No disrespect man/lady/other, I'm just being honest and if I'm wrong then I want someone to correct my honest opinion rather than a sugar-coated one I don't really believe in.

And by the way, the other person and I who were talking were not hostile. If anything, you can see us both bending over backwards to be polite to each other.

This is why I prefer conversations in real life. You have to actually engage with the other person instead of encouraging them to be censored.
