Gritash gives Samantha a courtly, yet somehow rakish bow as he exchanges the sword for healing, a sly grin on his face.

"Red glow. Red glows are rarely good things," he comments as they find a thankfully locked door unthankfully guarded by cultists and a supernatural creature.

Ever one to wade in to his neck then start swimming, he rushes in and attempts to draw first blood.

"You look as though you also depend on finesse more than strength. But if it is not to your liking I shall keep it," he says.

"'Tis not as elegant as a rapier, yet we might encounter creatures who are harmed by the material."

Gritash's eyes widen and his hackles rise as he prepares for an encounter with the beyond.

He quickly checks any of the nearby corpses (including skeletons) for any Pharasman holy symbols.

"I'd rather stick close to the surface as long as possible, anyway," Gritash says, falling in line with the others.

He casts a lingering glance at the slain and drained bodies, contemplating the unpleasant possibility that he might join them.

Gritash has low-light vision and sticks close enough to Khaine for that to be enough.

While the others go about performing more pragmatic tasks, he checks out the artwork.

Thanks to Khaine's work, the howling of the wind and swirling of sand is reduced enough that Gritash can focus just enough.

"Yes, yes," he says, rubbing the back of his hand against his cheek to rake sand out of his fur thoughtfully.

"I'm seeing definite evidence of water element elements in the ancestry of these individuals. And there is clearly a Jitska Imperium influence to the art style. I forget...was this place an oasis? That might explain why they were here. Or maybe them being here would explain why it existed."

"Delightful," Gritash remarks as the sandstorm bears down on them.

"As though I didn't already have sand everywhere in my fur."

At the first sign of the sand shifting under his feet, Gritash leaps straight up in the air, his fur standing on end and making him look half again his size. He twists in a way that seems impossible and barely touches the ground as he lands before bounding away from the beetles.

"Through the heart!" Gritash declares, though the stab he aims there is a false one to put the man off his guard before he actually thrusts for the cultist's eye.

Suspecting the man is close to the end, he does not bother with defense and lashes out with his Main Gauche as a follow up.

Main-Gauche: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 10 - 4 = 15
Slashing: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Confident Finisher: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10

The +2 from the the rapier and the Confident Finisher are contingent on the Feint working. Which a Preview tells me clearly did not...

I remember why I don't play my swashbuckler in PbP, now.

A LOT of contingencies involved. Almost need a flow chart to give to the GM.

"Ai!" Gritash yelps as a whip cracks across his snout.

But then he shouts "Ha!" as the next blow misses. The shout follows after each incoming miss until he is simply laughing rakishly at the clumsy attacks of the cultists.

"My turn!" he declares with relish as they seem to wind down.

His wrath seems great and he makes what appears to be a wild swing at green's face.

He then weaves his main gauche around in an elegant, yet efficient pattern that makes him more difficult to strike.

Extravagant Parry - raises my AC by 2 and gives me panache if someone misses me.

Less inclined toward brute force than panache, Gritash leaves the task of wrestling the victims out of the water to Khaine.

"Do not douse yourself, my friend!" he calls to the flame based entity even as he rushes the cultists, slipping past Captain Cappy, he makes a leaping thrust with his main gauche that is only a feint toward the cultist in yellow before trying to pink him with his rapier.

"Such a shame that the world is a place where one must prepare for the worst when simply meeting a stranger," Gritash says as he dons his leather armor.

"That being said, let us hope that there is glory in the fight if the fight comes," he says, his tail lashing with excitement as he checks his rapier and main gauche and tests to ensure they will slip from their sheaths easily.

Gritash doesn't know enough about surviving in the desert to know if they're in trouble or not. He simply assumes they're making headway and lightly complains about sand getting everywhere.

"A blessing and a curse, eh? Much like my handsome face and nimble wit. We will gladly bear this key for you and just as gladly deal with these foul cultists," Gritash says, with a dashing bow. He gives Gol Amri a wink as he straightens then saunters out to examine their supplies, pleased that they did not have to remind her about them. It is so...unseemly to request supplies.

He is no fool and would much rather die in glorious battle than from heat stroke, so he shucks his leather armor, securing it to a camel and puts on the more desert appropriate clothing.

"I am ready for this quest when you are, my noble companions," he says to his fellow Pathfinders.

He has low light vision.

Apologies for the "delayed" start - true to form, I forgot that March 2 means March 2 GMT in PbP, so I didn't think we were starting until "today" - I'm in U.S. Pacific, so I recognize it's already tomorrow for some of you, and today is actually yesterday.

Does this mean I'm my own grandfather?

Also don't feel bad about any delay, the entire team for my event is still caught up in the last battle of another scenario by a slow GM.

For a moment, I was afraid that I'd already played this scenario. Then I realized that I just ran a scenario with the same bad guys for 1e recently.

"And I am Gritash, a pleasure to make your acquaintance," a black furred catfolk with an accent that sounds like it could be from this area says as he strides in.

He has the air of a rake and a scoundrel who has depended on his luck to carry him through the hardest times but the casual way he wears the rapier and main gauche at his hip and the well worn hilts of each suggest he is disciplined where it counts.
