Male Troll (was human)
Hey! This is Khaladon, I'm Here! Sorry for the lack of posting. Been visiting family and got distracted from this thread. Also am a bit delayed cuz I thought I had all my books stored in digital form somewhere but can't find them so have to look for and re-download everything again. So, to make things easier, I think I'll go with Graul, the Troll Mage (unless my group really thinks a cyber warrior would be more helpful?) since he's mostly already built. Would anyone with more expertise in Shadowrun (so almost everyone ; )be willing to give him a look as he is and let me know what would need to be changed to fit this games rules? That would save a lot of time and gain you much gratitude from yours truly.
Male Troll (was human)
For me, I have to be able to see him, or at least see the place where's he's at, similar to how it was at Miss Starr's. I also have means to getting the truth out of him if that proves to be necessary. So just lead me too him and I can deal with the rest, if we decide to go that route.
Male Troll (was human)
Graul trusts to his teammates greater experience in these types of matters and will go along with whatever plan they suggest. He'll mentally ready himself for when his skills and talents Are needed. btw PHD, is there something in the van that can heal Graul's remaining minor injuries?
Male Troll (was human)
Graul nods his head as Rick clarifies things for him "Right Right, of course." He pauses in thought for a second then lifts his head with a mischievous grin, speaking with a very poor mob-like tough guy accent "An' ife don' agree, I kin jus get in his head like and Make him do what we want" as he wiggles his fingers in the age-old 'hocus-pocus' fashion and winks. And this time his less than pleasant appearance only serves to heighten the humour of his jest.
Male Troll (was human)
Graul pauses for a moment, not sure if Rick is doggin' him or not but then finally smiles his big ugly Troll grin at what he takes for an honest compliment "Gee, thanks Rick! That's means a lot coming from you. I mean with, you know, you having so much experience at this sorta thing and all." The young mage sits back with a smile on his face, finally starting to fell like he's a welcome and functioning member of the team. Speaking of, do we still Have a whole team?? Is everyone still Here? After a few min he sits forward again and says "So, how do you think we should approach this 'Mick' guy? You know where to find him and all? What would the 'Family' think of us coming in as detectives into their turf?"
Male Troll (was human)
Before they leave, Graul can't help but step forward and say, very shyly but still looking Ms Starr straight in the eye "Um, Ms Starr? Are...Are you OK? I couldn't help but notice your eye there and, well..." He falters for a bit but then takes a deep breath and stands up to his full impressive height "Maam, Whoever did that to you is no kinda man. I hope you don't mind, but this here is my personal number" he gives/sends/whatever it to her "If whoever did that to you comes around or causes you any kind of trouble again, just gimme a call, Any time, and I Promise you I'll teach him some manners and he'll Never bother you again" Somewhat surprised at his own boldness, Graul's shyness in front of the beautiful woman returns and, unless she has anything to say to him, he retreats back to the safety of the van with his teammates. Once Rick shares his info, Graul says "Well, we can either go after this Jeff sleezeball or this scumbag Mick. Or both. Seems like at least one of them should have some info on our target. Thing is, we just have to make sure however we do it we don't cause any further problems for Miss Starr...We could maybe try to play one off the other? 'Mick said so & so about you' 'Well, Jeff already sold you out so..' that kinda thing. Or, I dunno, you guys got any ideas?"
Male Troll (was human)
Graul sees his chance and jumps at it "Of course we knew you knew each other Ma’am! You’re Cindi Starr! You’re famous! You’re so great! I’ve seen all your Sims and…ah” Graul starts becoming aware of the incredulous stares his teammates are giving him “…and…ah..that is our…um, …investigations led us to….ah…Maybe I should just go wait in the van now.” Says a thoroughly embarrassed and dejected young Troll. He slowly starts to turn away but is obviously hoping someone will tell him he can stay.
Male Troll (was human)
Graul has an immediate sense of sympathy which goes out to the woman. A wave of pain passes through him as he has a flash of memory of his mother and his abusive father. The memory dissipates any temptation the young troll might have had linger his gaze and he moves on scanning the rest of the house for sign of anyone else. He will also be on the lookout for anything which might indicate Cindi's views on metahumans. If he doesn't see anyone else he will end the spell and report what he's seen to his companions.
Male Troll (was human)
Graul can't help but begrudgingly agree with Enoch's reasoning but sincerely hopes he's wrong so that he will actually get to meet some of his favourite starlets in person. As Rick makes his quip the young troll ruefully grins in embarrassment that his feeling s are so readily apparent. As they pull up to the seemingly empty house Graul says "Hold on guys, gimme a minute and I'll check it out" The huge mage sits comfortably in his chair as he closes his eyes and begins to concentrate PHD, can spellcasters have more than one spell going at a time? If yes, he will cast both Clairaudience and Clairvoyance sending himself into the house to 'look around'. If the answer in no, he'll just go with the 2nd visual only spell. How far would it be from the van to the house so I know what force (forceXmagic=range) to use? And do you want me to roll drain too? Or maybe to speed it up you can just do that. In fact, you can feel free to do that anytime to help speed up the game. Feeling slightly guilty like a peeping tom Graul nevertheless tells himself that this is a job he's doing and he promises himself that he'll be professional. Still, he can't help but feel a small guilty thrill at the thought of 'going into' the gorgeous simstar's house.
Male Troll (was human)
Graul flashes Leo back "You mean a good chunk more than you Normally do? ;-) But thanks buddy, you da man" Graul simply nods to Enoc's opinion, the 17 yrd old being slightly distracted by the mention of several of his favorite sim stars and the possibility of meeting another one of them soon. Great log by the way Enoc! I say you should get a bonus for your excellent diplomatic and creative storytelling skills lol ;-)

Ok, if Mr. Neighbor didn't give Graul anything else (Although he Must have had contact info for Billy at least, no?), he still asks Leo if he can tap into any communication for Billy and try and find some evidence of a girlfriend and perhaps a short list of hotels in the area. and if I did my math right, after his Heal Graul just has one point of physical damage
Male Troll (was human)
P.H. Dungeon wrote: Unfortunately, the guy claims not to know any real details about the girl, nor does he have any idea about any hotels where Billy might go. Not even a first name of the girl? And he obviously has a number or whatever for Billy if he left him messages. I was just thinking he might have different contact info for Billy than what we got from the sister
Male Troll (was human)
Graul slips 50 nuyen under the door "Ok, tell you what. Give me number you have for Billy, the name and any contact info you have for the girl, the name of any hotels you might think he'd be likely to check into and I'll add another 50 and you'll never hear from me or my friends again" He'll then comm Leo and pass on any info he gets, asking Leo to do Traces and Backgrounds and anything else he can think of to get us further leads
Male Troll (was human)
Having not heard anything from his teamates...ahem...Graul opens the hallway door a peek to check what's up. Seeing the pro's he works with have down the lycans he relaxes and joins in the discussion.
And during this he will be harkening back to his SRer days and checking the downed lycans out for any worthwhile equipment to snag. Then, if there's still time, he will knock on the door of the nosy neighbour he saw before (being sure to not stand right in front of the door and say "Hey friend, I thought I'd ask real nice again one more time before I lose my temper; What do you know about your neighbor Billy down the hall. Answer me and my friends and I won't have to show you what happens when we're actually in a bad mood."

Anyone Spoiler: P.H. Dungeon wrote:
Thanks. Swapped it for Influence "There's no problem here" "There's no problem here" "We can pass" "You can pass" ;-) Also long as you don't mind also swapped Mind Control(as reading it doesn't seem like something the company would approve of) for Physical Wall (I hadn't looked up the spells before,no book, just copied them from Romp's sheet...)And I'll be sure to mention to the next murdering lycans we see that we're not actually Allowed to get into firefights so, sorry, we'll have to play another day heh heh ;-) Oh, and about the Karma? And finally Drew, I have 3 points in Banishing. Will there be any spirit stuff at all? Are those points just wasted there??
Male Troll (was human)
P.H. Dungeon wrote: They'll be out for a good while. No worries about them. Ok, but he'll still give a good kick in the head to the one that shot 'im ;-) "Guys! WTF are you? WTF's going on up there?" If Graul doesn't hear any response from his team he will fear the worst and creep back up the stairs and quickly open slightly and peek out the door Spoiler:
Drain Roll Force 5 spell (8d6.hits(5)=2) which means Graul is able to pull it off with no Drain. Then, for third round (unless we're out of rounds) he will Heal himself.
Also, for next time, I don’t think you included my 1 bonus from my Dodge Skill which would have made my dodge roll 5d6 instead of 4d6…that can make a Big Difference! (If I had remembered how much I would’ve but more into Dodge! :P ) And then, in looking up my Spellcasting Foci, I ran across Karma (pg 263-had forgot about that ;-) So, did Graul (and the rest of the gang) Have any Karma to start with, so as to be able to bond his Foci (and all the other neat stuff can be done with Karma)? Or will that have to wait until he does have some? Finally, after understanding spellcasting more, I realize Analyze Truth is kind of redundant with Mind Probe, so would you let me swap A.T. out for something else? I realize this is slightly ‘unkosher’ but I really just beginning to re-understand this system… Oh, and things to make sure we have on us next time (and would the Company provide them?) :
That’s all I can think of for now :P
Male Troll (was human)
Graul will look down the srairwell to make sure there's no more thugs coming up then mikes or 'net's' or otherwise communicates with his comrades that the N stairwell (the one he's in anyway) is all clear. He then moves down to the first landing where the lycans are sprawled out, making sure to give the one who shot him a good kick in the head (hopefully 'acciedentally' breaking his neck) as he growls under his breath 'shoot Me will you Mother F#@%&$r!' He then puts his back against the wall and raises his roomsweeper to cover both the stairs coming up and the door which is now above him, waiting for his team. "Come on guys!" He (mikes? Sorry it's late and my brain's not working too well..whatever you call it-using their communication network/radio whatever) "Hurry the F&%k up and get in here!" PHD, how long will these guys stay passed out? If it's not that long and Graul would no better than to leave them alive behind if their gonna wake up and be a threat soon, he'll make sure they Stay down as well
Male Troll (was human)
Oh, ok. So re-roll?
Male Troll (was human)
When it's his turn again Graul will cast another Stunball on the Fu@%#$&s
Male Troll (was human)
Graul's resistance rolls
Ah, and I just realized IC is set up for this type of rolling Xd6.hits(5)...Cool.
Male Troll (was human)
Consider that Stunball fired.
and Enoch, sorry but I don't think you can get into the stairwell until Graul moves out of the door. And GM, since Graul posted that action before initiative would casting the Stunball be considered a surprise round handled Before initiative?
Male Troll (was human)
Aha! ok cool, thanks, well then that all works out then don't it? ;-) I'll make whatever adjustments. Now about the casting. Ok so first I choose the Force, which can be up to 4 if my Magic is 4 (which reminds me btw, in the char gen I used to make Graul I had put my magic at 5 but it reduced it down to 4 in char sheet. Is there a reason for that? Or is that a mistake??) and that also determines what the radius is in meters for area effect spells. Then I add my Magic(4)to my Spellcasting(5), which means I roll 9 six-siders? But then what? And what does my foci of one give me? One more dice? And then I roll for Drain, which is Will(5) plus Logic(3) to resist Drain of (in this case) F/2 +1 which equals 3. But how can/should we put our Physical or Stun stats on the character sheets here? Can't make a graph chart... Ok, so I'm going to roll 10 dice and post the results here 1st so as not to mess up the IC, then maybe you can help me as to where to go from there? Here the ROLL I'm making the Stunball a Force 4 spell btw, my max. And then here's the ROLL for Drain. Now what?? :P
Male Troll (was human)
"Guys if there's just a few of them I think I got this covered" Graul says. As he nears the stairwell door and prepares to cast a Stunball GM, can I cast this spell through clairvoyance? If not, he'll open up the door a peek and prepare to cast it at the fist landing or, if he can look down the stairwell, at wherever he sees them (or their hands) on the way up. Also, can you walk me through this first casting in the OOC thread? I think I almost got it but not 100% sure. See ya there
Male Troll (was human)
Ah yes, i missed that. I'll correct it. How many guns Can he have on him? Obviously the Remington as he's already brought it out. If he can have one more it will be the Warhawk (Which is in a quickdraw holster which I'll add) and the survival knife and a few other things (Indicated it on sheet) Is there a specific limit to what he can carry on him? Subtracted 1 from Etiquette
Male Troll (was human)
Graul shrugs, generally immune to the opinions of others about his appearance by now. No one could dislike his being a Troll more than he does after all. He comms his teammates "There's a nosy neighbor type down the hall here who may have some info about Billy. I heard a couple shots, what's up?"
Male Troll (was human)
Graul says calmly to the man, not moving his shotgun at all but ready to at a moments notice "No, we're not friends of Billy's, but we're not enemies either. We were hired to find him and make sure he's ok. Those two Lycan punks who were hanging out in Billy's apartment made the mistake of messing with us. I suggest you don't do the same. But if you know Billy and can help us make sure he's ok, we'll make it worth your while."
Male Troll (was human)
Graul, seeing that the immediate threat at least is over for the moment, mosees on over to the doorway to take a look. As he does so he makes sure to give Miguel a "Don't even Think of going anywhere, meat" kinda look. Seeing the effiecnt carnage his companions were able to deal out in seconds, he once again admires the skill and whistles in appreciation. He is also keeping an eye on the passage-way behind him (His back is against the wall opposite the doorway)
Male Troll (was human)
Being well aware of these kind of punks and the way they work Graul couldn't agree more. "I don't think we have anything to worry about from them. Let's go check the place out" As the leader of the punk gang steps out and makes his racism known Graul will smile hugely in a not-friendly-at-all manner and bulk himself up to his most imposing size. He'll then lean down to the punk and speak quietly "Oh, I think they'll make an exception in our case" and will then stand up and proceed ahead without waiting for a response from the pipsqueak. He will however have his hand on his gun and a spell ready to begin forming in his head...
Male Troll (was human)
Just to explain all, I am kinda waiting until I head back to Mexico and can get my hands on my original Shadowrun character sheet-which I had brought with me when I moved there but didn't bring when I came back to Canada for a visit-which is the main reason I haven't filled in my character info here yet. I will be back there in about a week. But if we will need to get into combat or anything before that Drew please let me know...meanwhile sitting-Finally!-comfortably in an ECI chair for once, Graul announces to the team his intention to scout ahead astrally to the apartment and see what there is to be seen. He makes sure he is comfortable and secure in the seat, closes his eyes, and begins his meditations to send his astral self soaring... PS This avatar pic doesn't really look like Graul at all...but something about the bestiality of the features yet the lost innocence in the eyes appealed to my idea of Graul...so this is the best I could find for here
