A big thank you to the crew at Grand OGL Wiki for all their hard work.

No problem Kevin. We are always pleased to get up more OGC regardless of the system for which its been developed.

The 3.5 DCCs are, of course, compatible with Pathfinder.

I was so disappointed when they went from 3.X to 4E. I was a subscriber and was looking forward to many modules in the 3.X to PF transition when they pulled out of the market.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So we've been playing through the Second Darkness campaign and while there hasn't been a lot of character death (wait, scratch that, there has been a lot of character deaths) one thing that my players have asked for and would like to see is more Campaign Traits. Specifically for later parts of the Adventure Paths.

So even though there are nine Campaign Traits in the Jade Regent Player's Guide, it would be great to have 2 or 3 traits squished into the later AP modules or as downloads for replacement characters to help tie them into an ongoing arc or even if you wanted to start the campaign at a later part.

I posted a review up on these forums and at Drivethru for the 2nd one. I already had done a review for the first one. Feel free to link the threads of the reviews if you want.

Dark Mistress's review of Volume 1 is located here. Volume 2's review is located here.

We are working to correct the problem that the Dark Mistress pointed out about the temple sword.

Hello Paizoans,

I want to pop over to the boards here to let you know about Stefen Styrsky's newest Purple Duck Games release Legendary Races: Cyclops. Here is the info:
------------------------------
Cyclops are a degenerate race who have fallen from grace. Cursed with insight into their impending demise many cyclops are driven to take care of only their basest of needs. Still others strive for more. Within this tome you will find:
- Background on the physiology and society of the cyclops.
- A new exotic ranged weapon, the six-bladed throwing gieve.
- A six level racial class for playing cyclops.
- Information on the half-cyclops race including racial traits, alternate racial traits and favored class bonuses.
- A legendary axe belonging to the cyclops champion, Borbyros.
- A half-dozen feats for cyclops and half-cyclops characters.
- A new oracle mystery of foresight.
- A sample NPC half-cyclops oracle.
- Two templates for cyclops and other creatures called the man-eater and the god-scorned.
- And finally a CR 16 – Cthonic Cyclops to torment and vex your party.

Available at Rpgnow and related sites for $1.50.
-------------------------------
The second Legendary Race will be medusa and half-medusa.

On September 1st, 2010, Purple Duck Games released its most successful product, Legendary Blades. This inexpensive tome provided gamemasters and players access to 16 legendary swords that grow with a character without requiring the player to make huge sacrifices to maintain the weapon or causing the weapon and its legends to become the driving force for a whole campaign.

Great weapons that scale easier was the goal and players, game masters and reviewers agreed that it was a hit.

Stefen Styrsky and Mark Gedak have returned to write the second volume in this series Legendary Weapons. Building on the strong foundation laid down in the initial release they have crafted another 14 legendary weapons from the Apocalypse Hammer designed to hasten the end of the world to the Woodman's Axe designed to tear the heart out of malevolent plants and their ilk.

Every true hero needs a legendary weapon.

Legendary I: Legendary Blades ($3) Our Sept 1st release in case you missed it.
Legendary II: Legendary Weapons ($3)
Legendary I & II [Bundle] ($4)

Thanks for taking the time to review this product.

Hi Paizoans,

I thought I better come by an update people on a number of the releases we have put out lately.

1st is Horrors of the GOW.
- this product contains a handful celluloid-inspired monsters, conversions, new cursed item, a legendary weapon, magical incantation, prestige class for alchemists, witch hexes, witch patron and a vampiric otyugh (because Mark has a fascination with otyughs). Additionally there is a Lands of GOW gazetteer page on The City of Graves.

2nd is Encounter Pages.
- this product contains twelve encounters at levels from 1st to 17th. Each encounter is confined to mostly to a single page for ease of printing. Additionally, there is an Lands of GOW gazetteer page on Thune.

3rd is Blue Dragon's Lair Tile Set.
- This product is a four page tile set of a blue dragon's desert lair. This product is automatically included in the Encounter Pages release. Please do not buy both.

Thank you for considering us for your Pathfinder compatible products.

Like many of you, I recently received a copy of the Pathfinder® Roleplaying Game: Advanced Player’s Guide™ by Paizo Publishing. My group has been eagerly awaiting this release as one of my player’s has been using the playtest alchemist in our Adventure Path campaign.

Now I’m terrible for following company preview information and I did not know that the Advanced Player’s Guide would have a ton of new racial modifiers and alterations to the favoured class system. Not surprisingly, my players looted that section heavily as soon as they got their greedy little hands on it. Everyone had the opportunity to take something and tweak their character just slightly, except for Dirk.

Dirk plays a tiefling rogue/wizard. Tieflings were not included because they are not a core race, and yet I think they are a popular race. In order to correct this grave injustice (though Dirk used more
colorful language), Stefen and I have put together some roleplaying notes, alternate racial traits and favored class bonuses for the other guys.
-----------------
To add to the fine work that was already done in the Advanced Player's Guide we wrote material for those players or gamemasters who are using:

Aasimar, drow, duergar, goblins, hobgoblins, kobolds, tengu and tieflings in their campaigns.

If you are interested please pick up a copy of Monstrous Races at Rpgnow

Thanks for considering Purple Duck Games

Yep, I know that. I think it was my first mistake as a publisher. It is one I will correct in a year.

Hello Everybody,

Now that the calendar has crept past me again and we are firmly ensconced in September it is time again for me to release the PDF edition of the DM Sketchpad.

The DM Sketchpad is a free product that Stefen, myself and others on the Grand OGL Wiki create every month. New content is added daily (when I'm not behind, like today) and then once a month it is compiled into a PDF compilation for everyone who wants a copy. Traditionally, I had a mailing list that this amateur release went out to but now I've also posted it at Rpgnow.

The DM Sketchpad is an amateur release and does not receive the editing of our for sale products. Please forgive the abuses to the English language I commit in it.

Thanks for reading,

- Mark
(who needs to go write the Sept 3-6 entries!).

etc, i would like to see more stuff like that. As some examples at 10ish am in the morning. :)

Thanks. I'll definitely add this to the our scribble list.

Yes. We are planning a second release. We are working on something else right now and the monster update subscription so it will probably be October before the next "Legendary" product comes out. If you have particular suggestions or wants drop me a line and I'll add them to the working doc and it will be include on the Feedback page.

Dark_Mistress wrote:
You going to be selling your stuff here on paizo as well?

I believe we are exclusive with Rpgnow for a year. After that point we may consider other venues including Paizo.

Personally I buy a lot of my material at Rpgnow and Paizo (as I'm a multiple subscriber - though my tag line doesn't say so, sob.)

Thanks for your consideration.

Urizen wrote:
EDIT: Okay, I see that you'll have proceeds to go toward artwork. So the fluff is the question I have remaining.

The proceeds of the final compilation will go to slowly stocking it with at. If we have 50 subscribers then there will be actually more than 250 monsters because if people signed up before September 1st they got to pick 7 monsters and I've also given staff reviewers a number of monster choices. So with 50 subs, we should actually be close to 300 monsters.

Stefen and I will be providing ecology and narrative information wherever it is needed. Some narrative material is OGC but we may still tamper with it.

I'll be sending out drafts at least once a month to solicit feedback from customers as well.

Thanks!

What did I do? I like being thanked.

The school week is almost done and although I have a ton of correcting to do already I thought I better get over here and announce a couple of products.

First is the Monster Update Subscription . In this project scheduled as a year long venture, Stefen and I will convert your favourite OGC monsters to the Pathfinder Ruleset. Each subscriber gets 5 choices of their own and access to all the other monsters already picked. We have a limit of 50 subscriptions for this and I think there are 40 left.

Secondly is Legendary Blade which was released yesterday and has received a 5 star review already. In this release, Stefen and I have created 16 magical blades that will grow with your character.

Thank you for considering us.

I think I have a Grand OGL Wiki to update and a DM Sketchpad to write tonight so I better get back to work.

His editor would have to disagree but we are glad you think so.

Sadly, when his wife read this she chuckled and patted Mark on the head as well.

Well, sounds to me like you should think seriously about writing this creature... :)

Bret needs to work on the introduction, tables and all that jazz. If he does the monsters what will Stefen and I work on.

The August Compilation of the DM Sketchpad has been sent out to subscribers. Several times a week the DM Sketchpad releases new gaming and Pathfinder compatible content. Please come check us out.

New PFRPG compatible material so far this month:

The Great Maw (CR 17 Sorcerer-Otyugh) by Stefen Styrsky
Armiger Swiftaxe (1st level Cavalier) by Mark Gedak
Dread Wraith Soveriegn Otyugh (CR 10) by Mark Gedak

- we are excessively pro-otyugh

Fairy Fingers (a Wellspring, OGL)
Gods of the Grand OGL Wiki (Any)
Staff of the Master (Magic Staves)
Dzon Olkman (BBEG, v.1 mahrg barbarian 9)

More to come as always.

I notice that the PRCs in the PFRPG that have spell casting all have:

+1 level of existing class

Instead of bonus spells or a unique suite of spells (like the old assassin). Is there a design goal to uniform method of increasing Spells per day?

I'm working on updating a 3.X prc and am looking for guidance.

In 2004, Philip Reed and Michael Hammes provided gamers with a subscription service called the DM’s Idea Pipeline. This innovative program provided subscribers with daily material for the fantasy OGL campaigns. This material was mailed out to subscribers on a daily basis (5 times/week) and was influenced by the feedback those subscribers provided.

In the past I have worked off and on as a hobbylancer but lately have been unable to freelance on a consistent basis due to my other work.

The DM Sketchpad collects my random creations and the work of others in a central location for other gamers to use. Since the release of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, I've moved most of my work on the DM Sketchpad to providing support material for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

Each day new content for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game or other OGL systems is added and monthly the material is collected into a PDF for release to subsribers.

If you want to submit material, subscribe to the PDF release or make a request; please email me at gedakm@gmail.com or want to sub
