Friendly bump: Are we still alive here?
Sorry for the delays and absences in my posting. I have now completely moved into my new apartment and just went through orientation for my internship. It seems I will have a pretty normal 40 hour work week, a 9-5 job (eastern time) for Monday-Friday. So my posting will mostly be in the evenings and weekends, although I usually play with my local group on Sunday. Thanks for bearing with me through this time of change.
Goivan charges in besides Kalora.
"We have the advantage of surprise. I'm not sure what all of your magical capabilities are, but if we are fully buffed before entering we should be able to take them."
I am here and ready to proceed.
"Sometimes the simple approach yields the best results. Onwards, headfirst into the fray!" Goivan suggests with a hearty grin.
This weekend I have a very large tournament to attend (I'm an umpire) which will take up most of my time from Friday to Sunday. I should still be able to check the boards later at night, but starting on Friday my posting will be very scarce until late on Sunday.
Even though it's a creature conjured from the ether, Goivan still gives it an apologetic pat as he mounts up. I know I am no dainty rider. Thank you for bearing my burden. On the road as the trackers are ahead and guiding them, Goivan's mind starts to drift. He thinks back to his time with Akaash and the young princess who he grew up with; well grew up was a strong term for what he was, but she was who he spent his first years with. And then his light daydreaming turned to the unfair conviction that was set upon him, and dark thoughts started boiling in his mind. And his current mission began to weigh heavily upon him; Goodwin was who gave him a purpose in this world. If he could not find the Archmage, he had no point. Goivan snaps out of his thoughts, grumpy from self-perspective. He listens to the trackers and nods. "So, should we quietly observe or go in with blades held high?"
"Hmm, definitely at least one giant. Some little creatures as well. It seems we were right to investigate." As the tracking continues Goivan feels the pang of worry as his allies keep the pace slowed down. "We either need to march on longer than usual. Or I could go ahead, but I'm not a skilled tracker." At Lillianna's suggestion he sighs in relief. "Yes, as long as you have enough magic for all of us. Although I can nearly keep us with a horse."
Goivan wakes with a start, then takes a deep breath. "Asheranthi got in touch with me last night. They're traveling to Kao-Lor temple, following the western edge of the mountains north from fort until black ice. I wonder if they just wanted to update us or if they need help?"
Goivan hunkers down and looks at the moving figures. "Should we try to get closer to see what it is?"
Knowing that he personally won't have any trouble with the terrain, Goivan agrees with Lily. "Let us see what we can learn upriver. It may be invaluable information."
Goivan looks around with a frown as they follow the tracks. Curious indeed... He looks at the plants on the sides to see which way they were knocked down to give him an idea of which way the boat was going.
I have finals and final projects looming as well. Apologies for my very scarce posting, I am still very much here.
Apologies if my posting has been slowing down as of late. I have an extremely busy week of school coming up and I'm heavily stressing over it. Please DMPC as needed.
"It's got some underground, probably pretty easy to defend."
"It's not if we can take them, but if we can keep any of them from escaping. I can't fly, and I guarantee one of those fliers would get away and report on us, compromising our position."
"Scouting parties are made to report on enemy positions. We should only go after them if we think we can surely take down every single one of them. With all those fliers, I doubt that's a possibility. I agree Kalora, I say we let them pass."
Goivan chuckles. "If the murk bothers you so, I can carry you through."
"It's good to see you!" Goivan roars, going up to greet the other children of Goodwin. Even amongst his odd collection of children, Goivan is easily recognized since he greets everybody brought in; he seems as old as the haven itself. "I'm glad it fares well so far! Well we just done with a bit of a scrap ourselves, the tomb of a would be lich."
"Here Grub, your injuries are still bad." Goivan hands Grubgullet the magical liver.
I think the heart would be really cool thematically with Goivan, but paladins end up immune to fear anyways.
I'd like either the liver or intestines. Also, if that liver can be traded around, we have infinite out of combat healing.
Goivan's thick skin allows him to ignore the pests of the wilderness, but he cares for his allies. "Do you all wish to have a fire?"
"We have made good progress, let's make camp here by the river and continue tomorrow." Goivan suggests.
"This person sounded righteous, but to gain powers from preserved organs? It sounds like the works of necromancy to me." Goivan frowns and scans the area for evil.
Goivan just stands and shakes his head. "I don't want to touch anything unless we know more about what's going on. Between ancient magic and the rights of the dead."
Goivan takes a breath. Here we go. He tries to open the urn and grab whatever is inside.
Goivan chuckles and steps forward. "Why not."
Aw c'mon, I fixed the formatting almost immediately!
"Here, let me have a try at that." Goivan suggests.
When we wake up I can slam Grub with some LoH to get him healed up. Grub, is your header up to date?
Oh I didn't know that was now, I thought it was a future plan. But greater mercy so good :(
Oh dear, I'm sorry for your loss. Feel free to take some off time if you need to, don't worry about us. ~~~ I can be backup trap-checker. My disable device isn't quite as high but I can throw in some assists for skill checks. And I'm a good person to be with if things go south.

Yeah, there's a reason I built a marvelously simple character despite being triple gestalt. Full attack. Add in LoH if I'm getting hurt. Add in electric damage for hard fights. Add smite for really hard fights. Try to get a flank if possible. That's basically my entire fighting strategy as long as nothing crazy is going on.
Eh, might not be the greatest idea in a party. There's no way to get that many people immune to it without entirely changing their builds.
If you want to take that risk, it's your call. But I think first we must deal with the mountain of ogre flesh blocking the door.
A single room left? Unnnnfff that hurts my OCD, but I'd rather feel a little offset than get somebody killed. My vote is that we go back topside to rest. Resting in a dungeon is just asking for it.
"A painting that we hoped to use to gain a tactical advantage against the hill giants." Goivan grins. "Crazy how that sounds without the details."
Goivan shakes his head. "Find isn't the right word. We were on the shadow plane and were leaving when I was suddenly just dumped here. I have no idea how it happened."
Well Grub needs to get his fat arse up for us to go anywhere :P
