Alright, so I'm making my character for my first home game after a long while of playing PFS and I've wanted to make a Magus for a while now, unfortunately the other players are not interested in playing a healer, so I decided it might be interesting to multiclass as a Magus/Cleric with Magus as my preferred class, and I was hoping for opinions on whether a build like this is even really viable.
Considering the Magus itself is already a dual natured class would adding healing to his repertoire just make him too ineffectual at anything to be worth playing? I was considering making him a Mystic Theurge at later levels so that his spell progression wouldn't suffer necessarily in either classes case, but I worry that this could make him so ineffectual in melee combat that it wouldn't even be worth making him a Magus in the first place.
The way he's built so far is as an Elf starting at level five, with one level in Cleric and four levels in Magus with the following ability scores:
Str - 14
Dex - 16
Con - 12
Int - 20
Wis - 18
Cha - 16
I think the character has some potential if built properly, but since I'm inexperienced compared to most when it comes to builds I figured it best to see if I could get some second opinions.
Any input is appreciated.
