Here is scranford's first Pathfinder 2 character. I feel I didn't really give PF2 a chance when it came out, and have been playing almost exclusively 5E, but wanted to give it a chance and what better way to learn. Gil is from a small halfling village that was raided by a group of Goblins. He was captured and forced to work the mines for almost 20 years. He does not know if any of his family or friends survived. A new arrival to the mines, an old human monk trained him how to defend himself with both his bare hands and simple implements... and before he died how to embrace the Ki within his soul. During a battle between his Goblin Captors and a group of Kobolds Gil was able to make his escape. He swore then and there to never take the light of the sun for granted again, and began his worship of The Dawn Flower. His travels led him to Otari, and he is eager to see the temple of Sarenrae here. I'll clean up the avatar profile if selected.

"I am quite good with words, and scribing if you would like my assistance". "And, as far as escaping the city, I have the ability to fly for very short periods of time...like over a wall..." Gil is leveled up.

"Your words say one thing, but your actions say another". "Why don't you just let go of that spell you've got active there, tell us what you know, then we'll be on our way"..."And you'll still be breathing". 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 Intimidate

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7 Intimidate Not even speaking directly to the prisoner, but assisting in intimidation. "He lies". "He hides something, and only wishes to be gone from here so he can hurry somewhere else". "Maybe, if he comes clean, and tells us where he is in such a hurry to get to, we'll let him live". "Probably not...but that is his only hope". But the smudge of soot on his nose makes him seem more a clown, than a villain.

"I don't think that's Rivereye, but we might not be able to find the real Rivereye if we kill him". "Try to take him alive". "I don't know what that is, but it's not on our side.

Still keeping his face hooded, Gil raises his head to look at the flying thing. (Low light vision, but might as well give it a shot) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Perception Noticing their contact Gil stands by and waits for Torrent's cue.

"I suppose, but at this rate I'll bleed to death before we get to the street". "Do you know of another way to leave this area...quietly, and unobserved". Gil takes out his punching dagger, and stabs himself in the leg. He then takes the fresh blood from the wound, and draws out the holy symbol of his God on the woman's forehead, while chanting. 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Healing

Thinking the rope looks a bit dangerous, Gil finds a ladder and/or some planks from the attic, and bridges the gap. (If there is anything long enough). "There". "Walk on these and use the rope for balance". "I'll be the last across". "Can someone carry the woman"?
Male - Perception +6 (Low-light), Class DC 15 Halfling (Twilight) Monk / 1; AC 18, HP 17/17, F +6, R +8, W +8, Hero Points 1/1
Smelling the smoke from the fire, Gil gets back to the door to the main room, then turns, and rushes back towards the storage room. He will then pick up the woman, sling her over his shoulder, and head back to see how the others are escaping. "Happy to do so, but didn't want to leave innocents behind to burn". Gil responds with a look or ire.

Just out of curiosity, or maybe misunderstanding of the rules, now did Gil with the best save end up taking damage? Never mind I see. This is an attack vs. Gil's Reflex save, not a save by Gil to avoid something.

Gil quickly rushes to the unconscious woman's side to stabilize her. Once he's sure she's going to live he rushes for the front of the room where all the action seems to be happening. I'm assuming 2-3 rounds before he arrives.

Gil takes his time reviewing the map. "There has to be another way out of the city". "There always is". "How about the hills north of the city, perhaps there are tunnels or secret paths there". "Does anyone know someone trustworthy, who might know of these". "Otherwise Lescol's plan of sneaking out and a distraction might work". "I am able to fly for a brief period of time if that helps, and am good in the water as well".

How dare they question...or try to end his connection with his god. Who are they to try and tell me what to do, and what to believe. I sense that they have stirred a nest of hornets, and I know I'll do whatever I can to stop them. If this cleric can help...then I'm willing to do my part Gil enters the room, his hood draped low over his face, and his collar high to hide his origin. He turns at the clerics approach, and nods his greeting. "Hello". "My name is Gil, and I've learned not to expect anything, however this is a pleasant turn of events". "I am doing as well as can be expected considering the circumstances we find ourselves in". "Are you sure we're safe here"? Gil takes time to survey the room looking for other exits or entrances, and anything else of note. He also notes the other arrivals for any signs of betrayal. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 Perception (The room) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Perception (The occupants)
Here are the basics of my character. I've still got to do some reading up on the gear section, and complete my back-story, but he's pretty much done. I know he was found by an order of monks washed up on the beach as a newborn, but still have to work out the specifics. Looking forward to trying this game system out. |
