Gideon grins as he figures out things poking at the computer.

"First, those spheres are made of very rare star metals. Let me get a video record of them before we do anything else." He scans what he can and then resumes his explanation.

"Someone thought he was clever, putting the actual terminal to control the first pair of doors on the other side of the zap zone. Fortunately, I have an app for that."

He concentrates and sends a faint bit of mystic energy at the terminal across the aisle from everyone. It sinks in and in front of Gideon a holographic set of computer controls appears and responds to his hand motions as if here were at the other computer.

Gideon studies his hands and waves them about, apparently amused. He tries rinsing the glow off with some of the water and dries his hands with an old rag to see if it washes or rubs off.

He examines it trying to figure out whether the glow is natural or magical.

Gideon writes a computer program on his comm unit that observes the sounds of water hitting the water linked to a video view of where the drops hit with a link to the video camera. Then it calculates where to be to capture the next drop.

I am sorry for not posting recently. As I said I would be, I have been traveling since Saturday morning and while I had some time on the weekend with Internet access, I had trouble signing on to Paizo and could not get a password reset to work. I'm just now able to post again, but now I'm crunched for time as I get caught up on my work and all my games. I'll post as soon as I can, but I'm okay with 'botting my character if it will help keep things from bogging down.

Generally yes. If the memory is limited, he has it set to a low resolution most of the time and only switches to high res for situations where a better view might be helpful.

My work schedule has changed. For the next five weeks, I'll be unable to post generally after 3 PM (same time zone as New York City) on Monday through Thursday. I'll check games in the morning and make what posts I can.

Gideon sets the camera to remain fixed to his chest and sets it for low resolution. He lets it act as a body cam to make a record of their path. When the hexagonal panels show up, she switches to normal resolution for a close-up of the panels and then sets it back to body cam mode.

"I ain't 'fraid o' no ghosts," he sings softly to reassure himself.

Gideon thanks Vic and then says to his comrades, "How shall we divide these? I'd say Tiny gets the serums of earthen stature and fiery vengeance, since he's likely to be up close and personal with anything we fight. I'd say the Doc gets the infinite air, since if there's any poison, we'll need him healthy to help the rest of us. I see Calisst has two small arms, to my one. Plus one of them is a pulsecaster. So how about I take this arc emitter? Or maybe Rex, you want the arc emitter? It can be set to stun."

Reposting something I posted yesterday evening but apparently got stolen by the Paizo system goblins:

Gideon finishes up his instructions with words of advice. "If you are thinking of using these scams for your own benefit, remember to never apply them to any less fortunate than yourselves. If you scam those who are struggling to survive, you are scum and no better than those goons who have been giving you trouble."

Gideon checks his supplies and waits for everyone else to do the same and get started on the search for the missing.

After failing to help with the technical side of things, Gideon sheepishly moves on and mingles with the locals to learn what else he might help them with. When he learns about them being harassed by gangs, he takes it upon himself to teach them how to spot attempts to trick them into falling for scams to get resources out of them without providing real benefits. He role plays with them as he pretends to be someone with some miracle device that will make food out of nothing or multiply electrical energy. Then he points out how they can tell this is a con.

At some point he taps his head and says, "Doh! We've brough some supplies that might help." He shows her the mk 1 null-space chamber.

"I love what you've done with the place," Gideon says, admiring the fountain. "Where is the water coming from? Have you tested the water? We might have a way to do that." He looks at the others in the team for someone with a water testing kit, likely part of a medkit or some other toolkit.

Gideon talks with the refugees while he recovers from the minor minor shock he took in the firefight. He mingles and asks their names, listens to their stories of how they got to this point.

To amuse any children in the area, he says, "I know it looks like I'm a big spender rich guy type, but remember this: things are not always what they appear." He rubs his palms together and makes a sweeping gesture reaching down near the ground and passing the palms of his hands up from the floor to over his head. As his hands move pass his clothing changes from those of a well-to-do merchant or businessman to tattered, dirty, and apparently cheaply made togs like the refugees are wearing.

He figures it best to look more like the local refugees than a mark for thugs looking for some top of the line gear.

Wardrobe Change

He also replaces the four small arms rounds he fired with rounds removed from the gang. If no one else wants it, Gideon will tuck the semi-auto in his belt as a back-up firearm or to use if he needs more stopping power in the next fight.

On the trip to the downlow, Gideon puts on the boots, if no one else will and spends some time programing his comm unit to receive the data the boots provide. He also arranges with someone to transfer a copy of the data at regular intervals as a back-up. He also sets his commlink to download reduced pixel versions of what the camera records as a back-up.

When he sees the Bulkhead Bruisers extorting the refugees, he rolls his eyes and thinks, Amateurs. Idiot amateurs!

He mutters to the others, "Back me up, okay?"

He strides confidently up to the gangers, smiles broadly, and says, "Best move along, mates. I saw a team of steward enforcers heading this way. I don't think they'll approve of your marketing scheme, admirable as it is." He glances back toward a busy passageway as if they might be almost to the intersection.
