Here is my extra d8, DM.

HP 1d8 ⇒ 6

I'd like to submit a melee'ish druid, I played in a campaign that quickly fizzled. It's Mwangi focused, but could easily be switched over to a neutral setting if selected. Same for items. I think I am right on line with the wealth, but I'll go back and double check if selected. Everything is listed in the alias.

I could easily change around my spells to help more with healing, if the party makeup dictated it, without a problem.

Hit Point rolls. Do we get fulll hp at first level? I'm going to assume so, and if I am wrong, I'll roll one more.

HP 4d8 ⇒ (5, 8, 8, 3) = 24

Thanks for the consideration.

Posts are just coming too slow to get a flow established IMHO. One post from the DM since last Thursday isn't getting it done, I don't think, with all due respect of course. If we can't pick up the posting pace, I would be cool with just letting this one go.

Gerain was for the most part, ruthless when it came to hunting. Animals were there to provide sport for the humans. But much, like his relationship with Ras, Gerain felt a bit of a connection to the whale. He made a point to loudly agree with any of the crew he heard talking about the animal being a good omen, and use that to voice disagreement with the crew who discussed trying to kill the whale.

Besides, once the whale got close enough to the ship, Gerain planned to attempt to use his speak with animal spell to find out about the strange behavior.

DM, while the investigation proceeds, Gerain is going to attempt to communicate with the trailing whale again.

Wild Empathy 1d20 ⇒ 18

Gerain was very intrigued by the whale trailing the ship. Could it be something simple, like thinking the ship was its momma, or was it something more sinister, he wondered. Over the next several days, he jumped into the water, turning himself into a small version of a whale, and attempted to interact and become somewhat trusted by the animal.

Not knowing how many days he have, I am not going to modify the roll, so I am going to take the -4. If any pluses need be applied, you can do that after it is calculated.

Wild Empathy 1d20 ⇒ 2

DM, my assumption is that I cannot Wild Empathy with the animal while in an animal form, being unable to commuincate with it. Could I turn into a small whale and attempt to establish some sort of rapport with the whale? If that won't work, could I get the crew to slow down the boat and get close enough to effect it with a speak with animals spell?

DM, the day after noticing the whale, Gerain would change his spells to include the animal centric spells, such as Speak with Animal, Charm Animal, etc. to try and communicate with the whale. When I get home to my books, I will try to figure out exactly what magic I want to use to help with communication with it.

Gerain, to keep his senses sharp, practices shifting into animal form, alternating days between a shark and an eagle, swimming iwth and flying above the vessel. In between, he made sure Ras was returned to full health and was entertained on the vessel as well.

"Hold still," Gerain quickly tells Rasputin, seeing he had sustained a great deal of damage. He quickly casts a spell on the ape, and some of his injuries closed somewhat.

Cure Light Wounds 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Wondering what's going on myself.

Don't worry Marcus, the constant whiffing of your swings are keeping the rest of the group rather cool! Air conditioning is nice...lol.

Gerain and Ras keep up the attack against the two sea creatures they are threatening. Gerain attacks 3, Rasputin attacks 1.

Scimitar Attack1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Ras's bite attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

Ras's Claw One 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Ras's Claw Two 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Damage 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9

Seeing that the gnome and his companion had the last sea creature on the deck well in hand, Gerain moves onto the ship to help the crew defend against those monsters. "Hold them off, we're coming!" he yells to the crew men. Like clockwork, and honed by much practice, the ape moves right behind the druid.

Double move to D/E10, with Ras behind.

Gerain and his ape friend move up to attack the closest target. #9

Gerain Scimitar attack 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Possible Crit confirmation 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Assuming that was enough to drop #9, then Rasputin will move up to enemy #11.

Rasputin bite attack with power attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

GM, work has went crazy today. If I am holding things up, please hanve Gerain attack, and Ras full attack on the closest fishies to us. Thanks! I'll be back on this evening.

Gerain moves to the closest fish-man, to I 7and swings his scimitar at the beast.

Scimitar with Power Attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Damage 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Rasputin snarls with anger and also moves to engage to J 6 the enemy.

Bite Attack w/ Power Attack 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Damage 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13

I am out for a few hours this morning. If Gerain is up, he will attack any threat close to him. If there is no threat within range, he will move to engage.

Initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Gerain and Ras are near h6. Seeing possible trouble he pulls his scimitar.

Gerain also is happy to depart the vessel, if only for a short period of time. He keeps Rasputn close to him, knowing the small village has probably never seen an ape, let alone one that was fairly domesticated. He keeps Ras out of the more populated area, taking his friend to as close to a wooded area as existed in the town, so he could get some exercise.

Are rations provided to us on the boat or do we have to worry about getting our own grub? If the latter, I need to find somewhere to stock up on rations for Gerain and Ras.

The next few days pass rather uneventfully for Gerain. He notices the young cabin boy hanging around and engages him when possible. He has Rasputin roughouse with the youngster a bit, taking care to make sure Ras doesn't scare the lad too much.

Haha, talking to people. Not my strong suit. Maybe they hate teh gorilla!

Diplomacy 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

not bad!

Gerain spends some of the next day talking to the crowd and introducing his friend, Rasputin. Some of the sailors seem to take to the ape pretty well.

Gerain heads to find Rasputin, to make sure the big fella was doing okay on the boat. Finding him to have already fallen asleep, Gerain joins him in trying to catch some shut eye.

"I haven't actually considered that, to tell you the truth. I always figured if he wanted to use a weapon, he would have picked up one of mine and made hay with it over the time we have known each other. He is pretty good with his paws, though, so I don't know if he would care for it."

"Well, nice to meet you, eidolon. Sounds like you two and Rasputin and myself have much in common. We are also hunters of game ourselves."

Turning back to the gnome from the strange creature, Gerain says, "That's right, he's a gorilla. Very smart one, to tell you the truth. He likes the hunting as well. Guess he feels it keeps his senses sharp, since normally he just hangs out with me."

Looking down at the little gnome, Gerain responds, "I have to know about your companion. I have never seen something like that. What is it?"

"Ah, makes sense. I am sure there will be plenty of time to stake out your claim there. Do you know about how long our journey will take?"]

Just a chance to see what there is to see, so to speak. Different sites, creatues...just to experience new things. How about yourself?"

[b]"I haven't seen either of them in the last little bit. I was making sure Raz was alright. He isn't much of a sailor. Doesn't like the swaying of the ship, I don't think."

Making sure Rasputin is comfortable in his quarters, Gerain begins exploring the vessel. Upon seeing some of his compatriots, he approaches them with a nod, "Greetings everyone. Heck of a first day, huh?"

Rasputin expertly jumps onto the vessel, following Gerain's lead. The human examined himself, making sure he didn't take any extra wounds during battle that he hadn't noticed yet.

You okay, buddy?" Gerain checks on Rasputin, patting him on the shoulder. "What should we do with that critter," Gerain akss, pointing a finger over his shoulder toward the carcass.

Seeing the creature sway slightly from the combined attacks, Gerain pressed the initiative.

Scimitar 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27
Damage 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Gerain and his companion continue to rain blows on the dinosaur.

Scimitar 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Damage 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

Rasputin's attacks follow.

Bite 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Possible crit confirmation Bite 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Claw One 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Claw Two 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Possible crit confirmation claw 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

I did not add a flank bonus for Rasputin, as I am not quite sure of positioning. Also, I did not add teh aid bonus from the archon, as I assume it will take another round to be summoned, then cast its spell.

DM, once again, I am out for most of today. Please have Raz and Gerain keep attacking the dino. Thanks.

If I can move to flank the beast with Grudge, I will do that. Hoping I can, I will add +2 to my attack. If I can't do that, please subtract two from my attack.

Gerains moves into a tactical position and slashes at the beast with his magical weapon.

Scimitar 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

DM, I forgot the Hunter trait, so I get +1 to attack and damage on that recent attack. Thanks.

Seeing his friend trying to bring the dinosaur down, Rasputin also moves forward to attack.

Bite 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Damage 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Claw One 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Claw Two1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Damage 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Gerain moves as far toward the animal as he can this round. While moving he pulls his magical scimitar and prepares to engage the creature.

Double move should put him roughly 10' from the dino.

Rasputin also begins moving toward the dinosaur, seeing his friend preparing to engage in combat.

I am out for several hours today. If the monster shrugs off my hold animal spell, the ape and I will close distance on him and prepare for the melee.

I hope so, Mouse. I do the same.

Gerain moves 30' toward the creature. "You might want to sit this one out, Ras. That tail looks brutal."

At the end of his movement, he casts a spell at the large dinosaur.

Hold Animal. Will DC 14 for the dino.

Initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

DM, not sure how you want to do initiative for the ape. I figured to just roll once for convenience's sake, and you subtract 4 from my roll for his, if that is acceptable. If not, I will be happy to roll for him as well. Just let me know how you want me to proceed.

"Hello, Miss Vaneo. I go by the name of Gerain, but some people also call me Gerain the Huntsman. I guess I got a bit of reputation for enjoying a good hunt. My large hairy friend is my companion ape, Rasputin. Don't worry about him, he;ll be no problem."

Hearing his name, the ape turns and nods toward teh lady, showing a bit of intellect not normal for the species.

Here are my 4 hit point rolls:

4d8 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 6) = 20

How should I determine the hit points for my ape companion? I will assume it is done the same way as a player, so I will roll 4d8 for him as well. If its, wrong, let me know.

4d8 ⇒ (3, 5, 3, 2) = 13

Hey GM, here is my first draft of Gerald's druid. Please check everything for me, and make corrections, if necessary. I have everything included except hit points, as I am unsure how to calculate them. I might have missed that in your char. creation post, though.

I will be out all day tomorrow and will make the corrections and hit point additions on Sunday. Thanks.
