The stat block is well done. And I love a well done stat block.

I am with SRM on this one, very nicely done. I am also partial to barbarian / cleric combos and I think earth is one of those overlooked elemental affinities. It works so well with the oread. I guess what I like best is that the guy is a powerful adversary, providing a solid challenge, and the aspects of the character concept blend so seamlessly.

I know you are limited in terms of text for the contest, so you can't really flesh out motivations and goals, but you did a great job within those limitations. There's a nice seed that a good DM could take and run away with.

You've got my vote. Nice job, Joel!

I think goodberry is one of those overlooked yet essential druid spells, especially at low level. Druids don't get a lot of unique stuff, and I think this is such a great item, especially the heal part at the end. At low level, this is such a boon, and it forces the character to make a tough choice between keeping the daily benefit or splurging on the big benefit to undo a significant misfortune to a party member.

Lots of flavor, lots of crunch. Fantastic job!

The illustration in the playtest is the iconic oracle, but beyond that, I don't believe there's any details on any of the new iconics yet.

Thanks JoelF847, if that is your real name. ;)

Also, I believe the choice to pick up an extra Skill point or a Hit point can be made at every level where a favored class level is taken; as far as I can tell from the toggle on your generator, it's always one or the other, is that correct?

Looks like you can choose one or the other depending on the total level of the character. I tested it with a 16th level druid, and I could choose from +16 hit points, +16 skill points, or somewhere in between.

Nice job with the generator! I bookmarked the page. :)

And it seems Conan O'Brien is a fan! Well, sorta. :)

Kudos!

Can anyone point me in the direction of this free PDF?

Thanks,

I played #1-#3 at Gen Con, and didn't find anything I wouldn't want my 14-year-old daughter exposed to.

So, after one session, I have to say that playing the Pathfinder sorcerer feels much more fluid than playing the 3.0/3.5 version. Even though I was rolling like crap, it was nice to have the option of the d6 lightning zap, rather than using my 4 1st level spells and switching to a crossbow or (*gulp) melee weapon. I may have to pick up the precise shot feat to avoid that -4 for shooting into melee.

It was also nice to be able to do a bit more resource management. For example, going up against a few thugs? Zap 'em for d6, save the magic missile for the boss.

Unlimited cantrip use isn't bad either.

That's all so far. :)

I still am, actually. :)

Although I should probably ask for clarification on this bit:

Elemental Ray (Su): Starting at 1st level, you can unleash an elemental ray as a standard action, targeting any foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack. This ray deals 1d6 points of damage of your energy type +1 for every two caster levels you possess.

I read it over and over. This looks like an "at-will" power. Could I get some feedback to make sure that I don't need to be carrying around a crossbow anymore? :)

At least the name sets up other names.

Paizo is releasing a RPG hued teaching tool for gamer kids called Mathfinder next year. I think we should all support them in this daring venture.

They also designed smallish dragons and demon lords made of cheese for use with their new Pathfondue -- Cauldron 'o Cheese kit.

Mmm.. My cholesterol levels are gonna go through the roof!

Same in my group. If they have heard of it or even saw it, they have already forgotten about it because it was so bad (or repressed their memory of it). I don't think people will confuse Pathfinder RPG with the movie in a few years, as no one will remember it or at least they won't even care.

I like Pathfinder because it reminds me of a cool Viking movie with the same name. :)

Thanks for the shout out George. I was on fumes with that last slot but I'll never forget you guys singing "Yo Ho Yo Ho a pirates life for me" before charging onto the Hydra's Fang and beating the ever living love outta Du Moire.

Singing is an integral part of adventuring. I tell my tables that I only give full XP to those tables who sing along with me!

Oh, no, just referring to Sh'blu's double demise . . . we killed him, then brought him back and sacrificed him again afterwards. It seemed like the most efficient thing to do . . .

Ah, yes. More sacrifice for the buck!

I told everyone at Gen Con that, as much as I was hoping for a good play experience, I was blown away by PFS. I had a blast at every table I played. I am completely hooked.

I also had the opportunity to participate in Acension of the Drow Saturday night, first as a ticket-taken and demon understudy, then as a player. By now, most other have probably identified the main problem, which was trying to expand a LARP-style interactive from 30 to 150 people in a short period of time. The overall effect was chaotic and truly frustrating. Most frustrating was that the concept and design were so phenomenal, it pissed me off that the lack of organization detracted from the game. However, the fact that this game was pissing me off drove home the point that I was instantly and significantly emotionally invested in a game that I had only played for the first time just a day earlier.

My suggestion: Use Jason Buhlman as a resource. Some of the best interactive events I every played were in the early days of LG in the Highfolk region, and much of it is due to Jason's ability.

P.S. Congrats to Hans House, M.D. for intriguing his way to having his character crowned Queen. Thanks to the Shackleton brothers for some of the best roleplay I have ever seen, hands-down. Long live Queen Sho'Benigm and House Sardavic!

P.P.S. To the player of Fermal Tracinoa, you really are the best. :)

I'm a GenCon attender, and I got 1636. Might I already have one if I bought tickets?

Not that it matters, but I don't want to use the online number if I had one assigned when I bought the tickets. Could someone shed some light on the subject for me? :)
