hmm...either would work. What do you think about Carson having been part of the team that caught M'ilo, and then worked with him as a collaborator for a few jobs?

Does anyone want to work in a coordinated backstory? Maybe you know M'ilo from a previous job or even before that? I can see M'ilo having worked alongside/against most of the folks here due to his shapeshifteryness.

Respect my authority.

I'm still playing round with what M'ilo's personality is going to be like. I'm probably going to model him a little after Nate from Legends of Tomorrow in that sense (along with the history buffness).

That being said, some suspicions of androids might come from him. To him, androids may just be walking computers that are forced to report directly to the govt overlords (normally on something he's done).

That being said, teamwork makes the dream work.

Would it be possible to swap from Operative to Envoy? Keeping everything else the same regarding M'ilo.

M'ilo may or may not have a chip implanted in him by the government so that they can track him and deliver a painful shock that forces him back to his starfish form. Lighter version of suicide squad sort of thing. Or maybe they just told him that to make him behave.

Something M'ilo would miss: Shamrock Shakes. Their comeback in the year 2190 has led to a near corporate takeover as McDonalds began dominating the market over their competitors. If not for the invention of the Mint Chocolate Frosty at Wendy's, the fast food industry would have been dominated by the Golden Arches.

Someone M'ilo would miss: M'ilo has a friend, an old professor a community college that helped ignite M'ilo's passion for historical anthropology. M'ilo even had the opportunity to go with Professor Jenkins on a field study of an old abandoned transportation node (bus terminal).

A reason having his past erased would be a good thin: M'ilo is tired of having the government breathing down his neck. A chance to have the slate wiped clean would help him sleep a little easier at night. And he could pull off some more hijinks while he's at it.

M'ilo, Astrazoan Operative: History buff and disguise expert. Team role, knowledge about different time periods, as well as how to dress and different slang/phrases that should be used (like Nate Heywood from Legends of Tomorrow).

Why should a government agency trust him? After an incident impersonating a government official (yes, Youtube and Twitter were involved), M'ilo was given a choice to either work for the government or do prison time. Choosing the former, M'ilo took up bodyguard work, legally impersonaty government officials that were under threat. The arrangement worked out, and the government preferred having a troublemaker like M'ilo within arm's reach as opposed to wandering the world.

Astrazoan Operative would be fun. Able to disguise self within six seconds and able to squish themselves into a small space. And when the going gets tough, go starfish form to freak people out before running.

My group is about to launch themselves into space with the hope of reaching Absalom Station or a similarly advanced location. Thing is, they're not exactly sure where they are in relation to Absalom Station.

And they're making the drift engine themselves out of a bunch of half-baked components. It'll work, but what I'm trying to figure out is where they might end up with a drift engine that might not be firing on all cylinders.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Here is Perigord Acinto (or Gordy for short). I don't see any info on background requirements, so let me know what you want and I can whip something up.

For what it's worth, I've never played Return of the Runelords. I took a look at the discussion thread, and looks like it'll be a fun group.

Here is Malthazar Coronidante, high elf wizard and discredited academic.

Fluff:
Perhaps it's the shoddy way the elf is dressed in contrast to his otherwise noble features. Constantly looking ruffled and wrinkled, Malthazar often has a distracted look in his eye, as though he's seeing something just on the horizon or just out of reach. Passers by might hear the elf mutter or curse under his breath. Something was missing. He knew it, something had happened, and Malthazar had to remember what it was.

Tossed from his studies for "endangering others" and "reckless behavior," Malthazar as he was now is a shell of the elf he used to be. But why? All he could remember was his tenure being ripped from his hands and his spellbook being confiscated as he was sent away from the academy in disgrace. Even the magics he once knew had slipped from his mind, leaving him in possession of only a few basic spells.

Rappan Athuk or...something in the area...somewhere out there was the answer for the great gap in Malthazar'z memory. Somewhere out in the wilds, the lonely places, knowledge could be found that could restore him.

*Malthazar's secret is that he used to be a very powerful wizard. He got greedy (not in a world domination way) but his experiments with harnessing power increased, and eventually he summoned a devil, hoping to gain more power. The result destroyed half the building he was in and severely injured Malthazar. His magical abilities were drained, leaving him with a novice understanding of magic and a gap in his memory for how he got this way.

1d10 ⇒ 10 silver

Oh, what the hey.

Dice rolls:

4d6 - 3 ⇒ (4, 6, 3, 5) - 3 = 15
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (2, 1, 5, 1) - 1 = 8
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 6, 6, 5) - 2 = 17
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 4) - 2 = 14
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 2) - 2 = 14
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 4) - 1 = 14
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 2, 1, 4) - 1 = 10
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 5, 2, 5) - 2 = 12

Class is being rolled randomly, classes given a number alphabetically.

Class choice: 1d12 ⇒ 12

And it looks like my secondary character will be a wizard!

17, 15, 14, 14, 14, 12

Sounds good. Thanks for the info!

Ok. And if we do decide "Hey, I think I have a different character idea that will fit the potential party better," do you want us to roll new stats or keep the ones that we rolled for our first character?

The players that have already in are a Paladin and Bard, correct?

Okay slight issue here, I've been away from Paizo for so long, and the interface has been changed, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to make a Penance alias. Any hints?

You need to click on "My Account" in the top right corner (or click on the three lines that opens up the menu that has "My Account" if you're on mobile).

From there, click on "Account Settings." From there, you will be able to see your Messageboard Aliases and can create a new one.

Fluff:
approximately 6'10", Aric stands out by standing above the crowd. That and all the weapons he carries normally dissuade most from speaking with the large, heavily tatooed half-orc. Cloaked in the pelt of a large bear that he slew, Aric looks every part of the wild, untamed barbarian, with the exception of his short hair and clean-shaven face.

Leaving his home when he was 18, Aric's reason for seeking a life of adventure was both to seek glory and to escape his greatest shame. Aric grew up as part of a mercenary group. On his first time joining a contract, he watched, frozen in fear, as his company was cut down before turning and running into the wilderness.

Seeking some way to redeem himself, Aric overcame his fears, though the first time he entered battle and fought, his shame returned and sparked a burning rage in his heart. The secret shame burning within him drives Aric with a desire to succeed in everything he does.

1d10 ⇒ 5 silver

Let me know if I'm missing anything.

Aric Forthin, hero extraordinaire (to be).

Fluff to come.

A barbarian is what it'll be then. Never played one, should be fun.

4d6 - 3 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 5) - 3 = 16
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 1) - 1 = 15
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 4, 5, 5) - 2 = 14
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 5) - 1 = 8
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 4) - 1 = 12
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 2) - 2 = 12
4d6 - 1 ⇒ (4, 3, 1, 5) - 1 = 12
4d6 - 2 ⇒ (2, 5, 3, 5) - 2 = 13

so 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 12. Not too bad. It looks like there's almost a one of everything applying so far. I'll wrangle something together here real quick.

Trom Deoch, dwarf wizard. Headed to Falcon's Hollow with the intent of exploring the ruins in search of an ancient brewing recipe that has been lost to his family.

I have a player that wants their soldier to focus entirely on unarmed combat. Now that characters are starting to get up there in level, they want to add an enchantment to their soldier's unarmed strike.

I haven't found anything very clear or concise on the matter. I know that in Pathfinder, unarmed strikes could not be directly enchanted, but had to access enchantment via the Amulet of Mighty Fists. I have not been able to find a similar item in Starfinder, which doesn't surprise me as none of the classes in Starfinder place an extremely heavy focus on unarmed strike.

An option that has been suggested is to allow armor upgrades/enchantments to be made that would affect the soldier's unarmed strike, but in my mind, this means the soldier is striking with their armor, making the armor a weapon, no longer unarmed strike.

Hopefully I'm not overthinking this. I realize that homebrew is an option, but I would rather find a way to confirm whether or not enchanting unarmed strike is possible in Starfinder with RAW first.

What do you think?
