Gaelvin, does that affect all constructs? Also, Lyn would that affect me, as I am technically of the Living Construct type, and not a regular construct?

Your not considered an enemy so it has no effect on you. He has complete control of his songs. ;)

Male Elf Bard 20

As the ship went down the band kept playing. Yeah well Gaelvin is not that type but its not at that point yet. What kind of champion is he, always running away. XP

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin had avoided whatever in the nine hells that thing was. But as it seemed to be sticking around and trying to kill everyone he choose not to run as far as he could from it, at least not just yet. He started to play a number of songs at once letting them wash over friend and foe alike granting a number of effects.

Song of Unmaking:

Effects Constructs Only
Dmg
10d8 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 2, 8, 2, 2, 8, 3, 4) = 39

Allies: +4 Atk and Dmg, +4 Str, +4 Dex, and +4 Con.

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin was built up to much. Hope my post does not disappoint. >.<

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin suddenly shows up far to the side of the stage sliding into view with his guitar in hand. He dashes towards the stage.

"Gonna be late, gonna be late, gonna be late, gonna be late, gonna be late, gonna be late, gonna be late, gonna be late, gonna be late, gonna be laaaaaaate!"

He skids to a stop on stage catching his breath. A spotlight has him in moments. He looks up like a kobold staring down a stampede of war weasels. A few moments drift by then he recovers, spinning his guatar he strikes the first chord causing an explosion of sound and color as his illusions run rampant. As he starts to sing and play they take form changing the world around them. The sky shifts in a spectrum of colors and ghostly plants start to grow quickly from the ground. Soon they are joined by animals of all kinds. As the song goes on it begins to effect the people giving them illusionary alterations making them seem more fantastic, a few even find that they can fly with scaled wings.

Knowledge (Arcana) DC 46:

This is a dragonsong of flight. It allows those the player wishes to fly like a dragon for as long as the music plays. Dragonsongs can only be learned from dragons or those who in turn learned the song from dragons. They run thick with power and even among dragon kind few have the talent to master them completely.

Male Elf Bard 20

Let me know when Gaelvin is up. I think his performance will be interesting. ;)

Male Elf Bard 20

Btw are the performances just RPed or do you have some sort of rough system besides skill roll. I just thought it would be fun to add mods based on RP with the skill roll to judge a performances effect on the people watching. Like rolling a 1 with only a +10 then added a +7 for RP giving a score of 18 which would be passable but not good and due to the nat 1 would involve a rather embarrassing mishap in which during your juggling act one of your pins hit you directly in the face but was passed off as part of the act.

Just an idea. ;D

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin sits backstage tuning his guitar, more a force of habit then from any need when it came to Keth. He went thru the songs he intended to play along with the effects he would call to enhance the performance. He thought he would start off with a dragon song of flight, not that the students would know it was a dragonsong. Some how that made it more fun, strange world to hate all dragons and not just those that deserved it.

"Oh well I never was one to pass up breaking misconceptions."

He said to no one.

Male Elf Bard 20

He falls over yet his guitar keeps playing. He had been at it non stop to keep everyone calm. He still had no idea what was going on but he was glad the fiends were gone. He pulls himself into a sitting position, he pushed himself back to his feet and shook out his arms. Placing them back on the guitar he moved on, no rest for the bard it seemed.

Just so no one forgets him :)

That's it, no more maps of Avalon are leaving school grounds. Not even in the pamphlets we send to parents and potential students.

With my luck the mob is going to have a map and walk straight to my office and demand to know why I've got dragons in my school...

Sense no one bothered to make a perception check that time. Gaelvin has a collection of dragon scale picks. Just a little fun fact.....may not play into anything.....most likely.......maybe.....just saying. ;D

Male Elf Bard 20

A few fiends managed to sneak their way into the shelter. Spotted by Gaelvin he let out a powerful note banishing them in a moment before they could cause harm. He wondered how much longer this was going to last.

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin had made it to the shelter and was playing a tune to help keep things up beat, he allowed Kethendmiirik's calming effect to spread over everyone keeping things from breaking into a panic or frenzy. He was also keeping an eye out for any sign of fiendish attack.

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin agree's with the suggestion.

"Thanks again for the help."

With that he dashes away towards a shelter, playing the same strange note that banished the fiends before if he comes across any more.

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin is relieved to see two people coming to his aid, he quickly switches songs. The song seems to empower his rescuers as it turns on the surrounding fiends. As soon as a clear path is made he runs around one of his defenders staying behind them and out of the way. He speaks using his telepathy to keep the song going.

"Thanks, I am not the front line type."

Allies gain +4 to str, hit, dmg, and saves vs charm and fear. Fiends with in 60 ft. must make a will save DC 52 or be banished, this effect only triggers this round and can not be maintained.

Male Elf Bard 20

Being the pied piper is not always a good thing. Someone help me. XD

Male Elf Bard 20

A hall is filled with music and anyone encountering it would find both the sound and sight of a nightmare. What appears to be a combination of hell, the abyss, and abaddon fills the area in its fiendish glory. Gaelvin stands amid a field of fiends lying on their backs in unholy bliss as he plays an epic that sends shivers down the spine and compels you to ward it off with a prayer. His eyes darting around waiting for someone to come across him, he sends his thoughts outward.

"What is going on, someone help. Everytime I move they follow me and if I stop playing their going to swarm me. Can anyone hear me!"

He didn't know what worried him more, when he could no longer play or if more fiends were going to come across him to join their fellows.

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin makes a decent defense if Michael needs it. But really murder is a bit strong, great bodily harm would be closer to the truth.

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin streches his back and cracks his neck. He had been pouring over to many tomes. He had finally managed to find something he wanted dearly. He peeked around the corner from where he was and a huge full room bath met his gaze. He put his things into the locker and took Kethendmiirik with him, he placed the artifact against the wall then went over to the controls.

"How about that and that."

Soon the water was hot with clouds of steam rising from the surface. He waded in slowly then went chest deep as his arms remained atop the rim of the bath. It was not long before he heard a slight splash, opening one eye he spotted nothing. But a small splashing sound soon had him looking around, it appeared next to him with its own arms spread out on the rim of the bath. A strange little pocket watch construct of some kind, with a tiny folded pink towel on its head.

"Hi how you doing?"

The pocket watch noded in response. Gealvin scooped up some bath salts from a near by bowl.

"You mind?"

The pocket watch shook its head. He tossed them into the water, in moments the steam changed color and the relaxing aroma was filling the room.

"Mind if I get some tunes going, not the silent type."

Again the pocket watch shakes its head. Kethendmiirik starts to play itself.

"Nah thats to hard, try something more mystic and classic with a soft tone."

Kethendmiirik's neck gets longer and thiner while its body rounds out a little more. Then it starts again.

"Much better, now for a little scenery."

The roof shifts into an open night sky with stars and a large moon. The steam gives it a sharp yet foggy contrast.

"How that huh, maybe break out a few cold drinks."

The pocket watch nods and gives a thumbs up. Gaelvin sings a few lines to a strange song, a bottle and some cups appear with in reach.

"Picked that up from the realm of some god of freedom and drinks. One of the few things I remember."

He pours some into two cups handing one to the pocket watch which is near the size of the cup.

"Cheers."

They both drink, somehow the pocket watch drinks all of its cup as well. They both put down the cups and blow out a long breath in unison. They remain basking in the setting.

I felt we needed a random post of this nature. Feel free to pop up. But no slurks. ;)

Male Elf Bard 20

How is this for Fieri's theme song or masterpiece. ;)

Male Elf Bard 20

Hey dont leave Gaelvin out of the concert. Give a guy a notice at least. T.T

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin has a 120 ft. speed as well as being feyish thanks to a greatful host but someone in his line of work has to be quick on his feet. Have you ever gotten on the wrong side of a djinni vizier, you better be good at running away. ;)

"Why would I complain? The teaching I got as a child was much too rigid. Anything that deviated from the accepted style was seen as wrong. So I've had a lot of catching up to do when it comes to learning musical styles and theory. I'm grateful for the help. Anyways, as far as a place...we have a rehearsal space in the basement. I practice with the rest of the band three evenings a week, so that leaves two evenings and I have a free period after lunch...so any of those times will work...oh, and make sure not to go to the wrong room. Some of those rooms are for combat training of the extra intense type. I'll show you which one it is."

"Just one thing...it's okay if I want to write music that's loud and defiant, right? Cause I am soooo done with chamber music."

Gaelvin shrugs.

"Its your masterpiece, do what you want. As for the location, I came upon a garden that would be ideal. Stone walls and rooms do little to inspire, but that is my taste. I remind you that I can not help you as you do your masterpiece, I will be mostly observing and helping you practice."

"Somehow I knew you would ask that," she said, carelessly tossing a notebook onto the table. "That's my most recent stuff."

There's enough there to show that she knows music well and has a decent amount of talent as a songwriter.

"Well I am glad that this school seems to do its job. But while you have talent that does not amount to skill. If push came to shove I would choose skill. Your too raw, without refinement you can never create something that will endure much less touch someone's soul. A good artist can stir the soul yet a true artist reveals the soul, in such a way that even that soul was unaware of it."

He smacks his hand to his head.

"By all the planes of creation, I've turned into my teacher! I blame you woman!"

He points an accusing finger at Fieri. A book soars over the stacks smacking Gaelvin in the back of the head. A sueeshing sound can be heard coming from that direction. He recovers quickly rubbing his head.

"Ah the price of dramatics."

He picks up the book and places it into a stack.

"We need to arrange somewhere that we can work. Also I would suggest you work on a masterpiece. It does not need to be your life's greatest work but it should be something you pour over and attempt to perfect to the best of your ability. That more then anything will help your skills and the result will be detailed evaluation of your current level. Any questions, complaints, or threats upon my life?"

"Hey," she said, gracefully plopping into a chain at the same table. "Nice trick with the floating books. I was hoping you might be feeling in a more teachy mood now," she added with a charming smile.

He looks up at the books. He stops humming and they fall back into place.

"Oh that, seems your books dont get read enough so they like to dance. Normally it only happens to a few but if I sing the whole place goes nuts. I take it you make use of screens here more then tomes. As for teaching it depends on what you want to learn, I dont even know if you have any skill. Do you at least know how to read and write music, if so do you have any samples of your work?"

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin sits in the library hidden by rows of tomes he had been reading. His blue shades atop his head as he rubs his temples. The fact that his senses were picking up a number of powerful minds was not helping, normally such power had control enough not to leave themselves open. He started humming and started feeling better, the tomes slowly rose moving in tune. He was aware he would get dirty looks by any staff in the library but he cared little at this point.

Male Elf Bard 20

Iynora sent you an email.

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin walks out of the library with a book in hand as he makes his way back to his room, he hums while walking. A long row of books dancing behind him to the rhythm as they follow. Most of the books had to do with Agartha, but some had to do with different subjects completely.

"It's no problem. It's actually a nice change of pace to not have to worry about a new transfer student. As long as he doesn't cause any trouble, I see no reason why he can't stay. Welcome to Avalon, Gaelvin."

"Yet another person to do a background check on though." Ryo thinks.

"Thanks but dont worry about the background check as I assure you it would take years and I doubt you would get a full account. To many secretive host and what not."

He pauses for a moment shaking his head.

"That last part was in your head wasn't it. Sorry I forget to turn it off sometimes, most planar creatures use telepathy to converse. I have a few psychic abilities but nothing as grand as pyrokenetics or telekenetics.

Headmaster Ryo wrote:

"Poor us, if he decides to prove how irresponsible he is. Anyway, I'm sure we can find a place Gaelvin here at Avalon, we never have a shortage of rooms." A screen appears in mid-air next to Ryo and brings up a map of the school. "No need to make a room today. One just opened up to hallways away from the library. Will that work for you?" He asks Gaelvin.

He gives a bow to the Headmaster.

"That would be great, you have my thanks again. Feel free to call on me if your in need of a bard."

And he can fill you in on the local taboos. Not that I can think of any that extreme here," she said with a sunny smile. "Come on, I'll show you to the office."

He finally stops playing, swinging his guitar over his shoulder. Taking a breath he speaks in his own voice.

"Well it cant be worse then that demon lord's guest room. Honestly who calls the screams of countless mortals music and relaxing. Dont get me started on the food, nearly starved the whole time there. Anyways thats enough gripping, shall we?"

"It's okay, I'll be happy to learn whatever I can. There are two things I'm good at, music and fire," she added with a bright smile. "And I love to spend time studying both."

Gaelvin shrugs.

"Well not that I dont love playing at this school but I have a bit of plane lag. Would you happen to know an inn I can hole up in near by. I dont really need to rest but its a habit and so much more relaxing to. A local libary would be useful too so I can brush up on this world, last time I did not I got chased out of a town because they found it highly insulting to eat with your mouth closed. Something about hiding the gods blessing or something."

He shakes his head.

Male Elf Bard 20
Fieri del Sol wrote:

"Oh, you're new. Ummm...okay, the quick primer...this world is called Agartha and you're currently at Avalon Academy. Planar travel to and from this place is almost impossible except for a few special exceptions so most people don't even know what planes are. This school is for 'special' students, we're most of us viewed as freaks by those on the outside. So, you know, be prepared for a certain amount of 'issues'."

"And now that I've done with that spiel, I'd really love it if you could teach me some songs. I'm a native of Agartha, so I'm sure you know lots of songs I've never even had a chance to hear before. I mean, if you don't mind that is."

Gaelvin listens with no small amount of interest.

"Well thats interesting, very interesting."

At the part about teaching his smirk drops a little bit.

"I am not the best teacher, I mean I could give you the notes and everything. But most of my stuff is pretty advanced, not to mention most of the songs require more then skill to be truely played. But I guess if we stay off those songs you may learn a few. I promise nothing, the songs do the choosing not me."

Male Elf Bard 20
Fieri del Sol wrote:

"What was that song? The lullaby, it sounded like something my grandmother used to sing. Where did you learn it? Oh, wow, that's a cool guitar. What kind of pick do you use? I like horn best cause it doesn't get warped by the heat as easily as metal. You're new here right? My name is Fieri."

Gaelvin switches up to something more upbeat. The guitar shifting to red oak with silvery strings. Speaking with his mind rather then spoil the song he replies.

"Oh I pick things up, you would be surprised how many songs cross over the planes to different worlds. As for picks."

He taps a hidden compartment that pops open with rows of picks on his guitar.

"Kethendmiirik has his own supply of picks but I find that different picks give different things to the song, while someone with keen hearing or knowing its there wont notice it. It still changes the song in subtle ways so I keep many different kinds from scales, bones, to woods and other types."

In a fluid practiced manner that you bearly even catch he switches picks and closes the compartment. You spy what seems a red scale but almost polished armor or jewel like.

"As for being new, yes I dropped in last night. My name is Gaelvin Sieti commonly known as Plane Song Gaelvin by some. Interesting world from what I have seen of it."

He gives a slight bow while still playing.

Let me know if anyone with close knowledge of all dragon types saw his pick collection or current pick. ;)

Gaelvin drops the invisibility without missing a beat. He was thinking of what to play next, something from the elemental plane of water maybe.

Don't forget that Lysander and Ephebe are on guard for attempts at mind control. While I can't speak for my niece, when it comes to his little cousins I can tell you Lysander is more like to attack first and not give a damn about questions later.

It does not control, it acts more like a suggestion. Anyways he is not considered a student or even a visitor. You got someone walking around your school no one knows anything about and you dont know how he got in. Really his ability to compel dragons seems very minor considering. ;)

Male Elf Bard 20

Is it wrong that I happen to have a dragon song of compulsion. :D

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin finished his performance in the garden then started playing yet another tune, this one was a gentle almost sleepy song. He could sense a large number of people as he walked along. His guitar was made of darkwood with dark green strings this time, giving it a mellow but deep tone. It was not long before he finally found a sentient crowd to play for, then again he would stay on the side of caution.

Perform
1d20 + 46 ⇒ (10) + 46 = 56

He cast invisibility on himself and has Kethendmiirik's calming effect active (DC 23).

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin had found his way to the garden area of the school. He gave a smirk, he had a way with plants. He started playing a tune and soon the plants moved in time with his song. He sat on a seat of vines grown from his tune. The whole garden was growing and turning wild with his song.

Druids eat your heart out :)

Male Elf Bard 20

<-I got the music, it turns groups into engines of destruction.

Edit-Waiting for day break before posting again.

Male Elf Bard 20

<--- About to E-X-P-L-O-D-E :)

Gaelvin is not used to being ignored, should he wait or do something to draw some attention sense this massive school seems deserted.

Male Elf Bard 20

Gaelvin slows down as he wanders the school halls. Feeling in the mood for something darker he starts to play a dirge of dispair. Once more the world around him starts to change. Things become darker and shifting, mist begins to thicken with creeping spirits slowly rising.

Gaelvin gives him a wink.

"Feel free to make a request next time."

He disappears his song fading with him. Down the hall he can be seen jogging away.

His speed is 120 ft., just so you know.

Male Elf Bard 20
Taron Sunwake wrote:

Taron stoically ignores the longing he feels for this illusion to be real, to be able to fly freely.

"You are in Agartha. A plane all it's own, and a world too. If you didn't know that, it means you're new here and don't know that that particular song and these illusions are dangerous. There are people hiding among the student body that do not like dragons, and that is putting it kindly."

Gaelvin shrugs still playing.

"Songs are only dangerous if their player chooses. I have played devil dirges in front of celestials who wept for their fallen brothers. To put it simply I will play what I want or is asked of me. I could care less what others think, their minds rarely agree with their hearts."

Male Elf Bard 20
Taron Sunwake wrote:

Ah, that makes sense. Taron seems more worried about the songs origin than the fact it might wake anyone up. I believe singing dragonsong went out of style as the Hunter's point of view became more wildly accepted.

Taron, realizing this person was right about the song and remembering that the Hunter's were already after his family, became immediately wary. He dispels the illusion covering him, making him appear human once more, before he continues.

"It's not often you hear a song like that. I'm interested in where you learned it."

Gaelvin keeps playing, the song was nearly over. The illusions were shifting now into a draconic paradise with flights soaring thru the skies.

"Oh here and there, I do request and make it a point to study new songs. You mind telling me what world and plane I am on?"
