Lady Gabrielle hands the kitty to Nixie as she steps between her and the Guardian. "We have an invitation to be here," she says to the demon, retrieving her fan and cooling the guardian's heat. "Would you care to escort us to your master's library?" she then asks.

"Now you are a pretty kitty," the Lady gets the cat. "And we will become better acquainted soon," she adds, scooping up the cat before the group escapes. "Do any of you happen to know the form of this guardian?" she asks, looking for a place to take cover. -Posted with Wayfinder
The Lady adjusts her glasses before focusing intently on the strange message. "These carvings, they are instructions for leaving this place," she explains after a moment of study. She then looks up to the stranger to answer his question, quickly changing the subject away from the message. "I am Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher of the Empire of Taldor. My intuition tells me that you recognized me from somewhere in your past. That is rather unlikely, considering how long you have lingered in this place." -Posted with Wayfinder

Lady Gabrielle lets out an annoyed gasp of air. "Free passage in does not imply free passage out. How lovely," she comments. "The mother of all succubi, you say? Sandin, Elros, Knute, Nixie... is it at all possible that we all find ourselves suddenly thinking in concert?" she asks the group, a clever smile washing across the Lady's porcelain face.
"It appears that we may have stumbled across an ally of circumstance," the Lady quietly tells Sandin, tilting her head to speak to him while watching the being. -Posted with Wayfinder

"I am afraid that I am not in a position to know, and that is troubling," she says, sinking into the bath until her chin is touching the water. "As Euphrixia has chronicled, I am a small sprig of an ancient tree. There are likely to be bloodlines, debts, curses, and treasures which have all been lost to time. A child of Aroden himself could lie in that tree, or an Apcher could have been the center of some prophecy about defeating the Chelish House Thrune, or we might possess the secret to controlling Absalom without even knowing it. The line extends as far back as the birth of the Empire, when monsters roamed the earth and humanity was afraid to venture outside its tiny tribes. The Empire brought light to many regions of darkness. It would be natural for some of the more romantic bits of history to have been picked up along the way by my ancestors. "Euphrixia certainly knows how to make someone feel comfortable," she says to Nixie, before slipping her whole self underwater for a moment. "To be quite honest, Charlotte, I had nearly forgotten about the Professor for a moment there. This news of my family has entirely overtaken my thoughts," she explains, following up with a deep, calming breath. "The exact nature of Izimara's wrath is a puzzle. There have not been any strange deaths or disappearances in generations. If we are facing our downfall, naturally, I must assume that my mother and her wastefulness is to blame. Hmm... So, for some background, I had been wanting to do an aristocrat who used her fan as a weapon for many years, so the moment I learned that Ultimate Combat had the fighting fan, I was quite happy. I had planned out the basic idea of NinjaX/Monk2, because the fan was a monk weapon, the Ninja used Charisma, and Monk2 would grant Evasion, which Ninja loses. Other than that, the rest just came along as I went. Tripping, for example, was something I tried out at 7th and quickly began to really enjoy it. -Matt -Posted with Wayfinder

"I anticipate that capturing the soul your master desires will prove a hint more difficult, especially with all four of us present," she says. "Perhaps we will have to side with Izimara, and concoct a plan to steal the seventh circle from him, as a sort of vengeance." She gently opens her fan as she speaks.
"A demon in control of a circle of Hell would certainly shake things up down there."

"Attack us, and Izimara likely wins the seventh circle," the Lady says. "I know of the Apcher family, because I am, in fact, Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher, and I represent the last, best hope for my family line. I offer my assistance in turning the tables against Izimara, if you wish it, " she says, looking to Sandin, Elros, Nixie, and Knut for support, a nervous expression in her eyes. -Posted with Wayfinder
The Lady pays close attention to the demon-dragon and his tale. Lady Gabrielle had never known of the darker side of her family's history. Of course, her house was old enough to have waxed and waned many times over the centuries, but devilish bargains had never played a part in the tree she had known. As for facing the wrath of a demon queen, the notion came easily to her. The way her mother Florianne had led the estate towards ruin by indebtedness meant that the devil was rapidly achieving his revenge. The thought of her mother as an agent of evil was the first thing to come to her. She had ensnared Lord Thomas so completely that he could never lift a finger to resist Lady Florianne and her endless expenditures. Even her mother's decision to send Lady Gabrielle to the Lantern Lodge in Goka would fit a pattern of ruin. With Gerard in Mendev, Dante in the corsairs of Cassomir, and Gabrielle with the Pathfinders, the estate's heirs were all placed in mortal danger. Well, almost all. Violette was destined towards priesthood since she was a child, a path which would remove her from eligibility. It was for the best, she thought. If Violette were capable of experiencing a single clever thought, she would likely have been sent away like her siblings were. Among all of her lingering questions, one was most prominent in her mind. What of her brother Gerard? Why was he missing from the tree they had uncovered in Euprixia's library? Next-most prominent was the one she could not help but become fixated on: how could she use this true family history to her advantage? "I know of this family, and their recent experiences with, as you say, Izimara's haunting," she says. "What are the terms of your being bound to her, if you are not bothered by my asking? Is your service contingent on the Lady inflicting a particular amount of haunting? Or are you bound for the length of certain family members' lifetimes? I do hope my curiosity is welcomed."
The Lady rubs her stomach, taking several deep breaths while she daintily flicks demon blood off of her fan. "The stench was nothing short of atrocious. I do wonder what lies below us. The water has to be flowing somewhere," she says. -Posted with Wayfinder
The Lady's face twists as the terrible scent assaults her nostrils. She deftly dodges out of the way of the demon's bear hug, then parries its bite attack by smacking its chin with her closed fan. She then opens it right in front of its eyes, (hopefully) distracting it for just a moment...
