Guy, my mom passed so I need a week or so. I understand if you want to quit.

Arasmes:
"My name is Anevia Tirabade." says the female. She offers you no hand to shake."I think my leg may be broken."

Looking around you can not figure out where you are. The only thing you know is that you are somewhere under Kenabres.

Please make me a Diplomacy check.

Belen:
"Are you the leader hear?" Says the elf. Lowering his hands you now see that his face is badly burned and he is missing both eyes. "I can not tell as you can see. I seem to have suffered from a glancing blow of the balor's flaming whip."

Please make me a Diplomacy check.

Ennike:
You sneak forward to the northeast to scout the road ahead. You come to the entrance and see that it narrows to a little less then 10 feet. You see that it continues on for about 40 feet and then opens up.

You also notice before you left the others that there are some silver scales on the ground lying among the rocks.

Please make me a Diplomacy check.

Peter:
You see that the elf that Belen is helping is badly burnt and missing both eyes. He tell Belen that he took a glancing blow for the balor's flaming whip.

Please make me a Diplomacy check.

As Peter and Belen approach the spider, a globe of acid flies over there heads and hits the spider. As the spider becomes well illuminated, you all see the second the acid hits the arachnoid in the head the abdomen burst open on the spider and two (2) giant maggots crawl out and head towards you.

Initiative Giant Maggot #1: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Initiative Giant Maggot #2: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

As the maggots advance, Peter lets fly with his flail hitting one maggot square in the head. As Peter draws his weapon out of the maggots skull, blood and guts fly everywhere. The creature drops unmoving. Not to be outdone, Belen brings his greatsword down on the other maggot, severing it in two.

Everyone gets 100 xp for the encounter.

As you begin to look for survivors, the three that stand before you are the most obvious. The one that calls herself Anevia Tirabade is a human female dressed in leather armor. You notice that even though she said she was ok, she seems to be favoring her left leg. She carries a bow and arrows and a short sword.

The second stranger is a male elf that seems to be holding his face as if something is wrong with him. He wears no armor but carries a quarterstaff and wand.

The third stranger is a male human. Even though he is dirty and dusty, he seems to be very well dressed. He carries no weapon and wears no armor.

You are all located about 40 feet from the spider. It does not advance.

If you are searching the rubble, you are sure that there could be no other survivors except the ones that stand before you. A few arms and legs can be seen sticking out of the rocks and boulders that make up the rubble pile.

Peter-

Spoiler:
You find a few shreds of clothing (enough for one torch). No weapons and no food.

Arasmes, Peter, and Ennike - You see that the spider is a giant black widow but you also notice a muffled chewing sound and a bulge wriggling inside the spider's abdomen.

Belen - You see a giant spider.

You all hear one of the strangers say "We seem to be ok."

Room Description The room is about 120' in diameter. The west wall has completely caved in. There are two exits out of here, on to the northeast and one to the southeast. You are near the cave in and the spider is in the middle of the room.

Everyone give me a perception check.

The loot idea is fine.

"He didn't just save you four. He must have seen fit to save us too." you hear a voice say from your left. Looking that way you notice three others have also survived the fall. "My name is Anevia Tirabade. What be yours?"

The ceiling and far walls of this vast cavern recede into darkness.
On one side, the wall has collapsed in an enormous mound of
rubble—here and there the arms or legs of victims who didn’t
survive the fall protrude. In the back of the cavern, a disturbing
shape looms. Nearly the size of a horse, what appears to be an
immense black spider crouches silent and still on the ground.

I don't usually follow any encumbrance rules other then you cant carry something that would be extremely heavy like an anvil or something like that. I am up for whatever everybody want when it comes to that. So maybe take a vote.

As far as a loot sheet, that's a great idea. When you search for loot I will tell you what you find along with the room number you found it in. That way when you get the magic stuff identified, you can tell me what room its from and it will be easy for me to find.

You are suddenly in a very dark place. Your heads throb with thunderous headaches. Your ears ring. Your having trouble breathing. After a few moments, the sounds of rocks clattering, coughing, and moans of pain, as well as the choking smell of dust, become apparent as your senses seem to return, but it remains pitch black. Feeling around in the darkness, there seems to be what is rubble all around you. Your bodies seem to be covered in dirt and filth. Besides the general aches and pains, you don't seem to be to hurt.

It doesn't take long at all for your heads to clear and you begin to recall what just happened.

Armasse officially began at noon, with the blessing of the festival
by Lord Hulrun himself, ruler of Kenabres. The crowd gathered in
Clydwell Plaza quieted as the aged inquisitor took the stage, clad
in shining, resplendent armor. He cleared his throat, but just as
he was about to speak, a bright light shone from the west, as if
the sun were rising from the wrong direction. Hulrun’s shadow
fell huge and distorted across the cathedral’s façade. A moment
later, the sound of a thunderous explosion ripped through the air
and earth, along with a violent tremor.
To the west, the fortress known as the Kite—the location of
Kenabres’s wardstone—had vanished. In its place, a brilliant
plume of red fire, lightning, and smoke erupted into the heavens.
A moment later, a powerful roar accompanied a welcome
sight rising from the crowd—Kenabres’s greatest guardian, the
ancient silver dragon Terendelev, who had until that moment
been attending the opening ceremony disguised as a human.
Above, another form appeared, as nightmarish as the dragon
was breathtaking. A humanoid shape three times the size of any
man, with skin coated in fire and lightning, gripped a flaming
sword and whip. The creature’s identity was immediately obvious:
Khorramzadeh, the Storm King of the Worldwound, had come
to Kenabres!
As the ground continued to shake and disgorge demons
into the streets, the dragon and the balor lord clashed above.
The fight was over in a few harrowing moments, as the balor
cut deep into Terendelev’s body, swooping down to strike the
dragon and arresting her charge. A few more blows, and the
titanic duo spiraled downward toward the crowd.
The sight of the dragon smashing into the façade of the
Cathedral of St. Clydwell is one no witness would ever forget. At
that moment, a titanic demon erupted at the far end of the plaza,
reducing several buildings to ruins as it smashed into this world.
The rift it created shot across the plaza, and this time there was no
escape—it opened below your feet, angling away into darkness.
Even as you fell, the dragon noticed your plight. Though she saw
death standing over her, she seized this final chance to save a few
more souls. After she uttered a few arcane words and stretched
out a bleeding talon, you felt her magic take hold of you, slowing
your plummet into the darkness as if you were feathers falling
into a pit. Yet the fall remained as inexorable, and as you drifted
downward into the depths, the last thing you saw was the Storm
King standing before the ancient silver dragon, his sword lashing
out and cleaving full through her neck. As her severed head fell,
the rift above you slammed shut, and the light of the world above
was gone.

Peter - The layout of the city really doesn't matter at this point but I can tell you that Clydwell Plaza sits just to the west of the Cathedral of Saint Clydwell in Old Kenabres.
EVERYONE - go here to learn more about the city.

No that's fine Peter.

Belen you can put whatever you want

yes I figured it out and have started the game.

You have arrived at Clydwell Plaza early this day so that you could get a good seat for the opening ceremonies. You are not alone in this thinking, for a few others have joined you in the stands that where built for this ceremony. The festival is called Armasse and it is traditionally an opportunity for scholars and priests to come together to study the lessons of history for wars past.

As you sit and wait for Lord Hulrun to begin the festival with the annual blessing, you decide that maybe it would be a good idea to introduce yourself to your fellow festival participants in the stands. You never know who you will meet here.

You may take this opportunity to introduce and describe yourselves to each other.

Ok we will start tonight @ 8:00pm CST.

Questions:

Would you allow a drawback to gain an extra trait?

Also, reading through the Player's Guide, downtime rules are a possible option. Will you be including these, and would you, like several other GMs who run this, be willing to grant us an extra skill per level that must be spent on Craft, Perform or Profession?

I am not familiar with drawbacks so I will go look them up and let you know. No extra skills.

drawbacks will be allowed

Monkeygod wrote:
What about the down time rules? I put a rank into Profession just in case, but I could easily place it elsewhere if they won't be used.

downtime will be allowed.

As I am fifteen, posting is not going to happen during school hours. I get out super early on wendsays though! I also have the core rulebook as a PDF. Just the one issue is my computer dislikes PDF files. Though I pour over the PRD daily. Just expect to help me once or twice. especially in combat.

This will not be a problem.

also, I can post more than once a day usually.

What are your thoughts/concerns on crafting items? and posting requirements

As long as you have the skill, time and requirements, I don't have any concerns.

150 gp starting money and max HP first level.

Fantastic Willow. I cant wait to see it.

I would like to begin a Wrath of the Righteous AP very soon. I am looking for 4 players who can post once a day and maybe more on the weekends. Here is how to build your character.

  • One: Use 20 point buy system.
  • Two: No evil characters.
  • Three: Any race or class.
  • Four: Use one Trait from AP and one from anywhere else.

I will view all applicants and make a choose by March 14th. If you have any questions, please ask.

thank you very much

Can anyone tell me how to change text or color on this messageboard? Maybe there is a lesson I can read on this subject?
