![]() I've started running the Shattered Star AP for an online group of three players. We need an additional player or two to round out the group. The party currently consists of the following: male human spiritualist
The party could use a martial front-liner (or two). We are playing Thursday evenings from 8:00-10:00 PM US Central Daylight Time. We use D20PRO as our virtual table top and Discord for voice chat. If you are interested in joining this campaign, please post a reply to this thread or send me a private message. GM Budman ![]()
![]() Before anyone commits to a particular AP, would you and your other players be willing to create first level "disposable" PCs that I'd run a short module for? That would allow us to get to know each other and see how well the group gels before undertaking an AP. If you would like to proceed, please Private Message me your email address and I'll provide character creation info and setup instructions for playing online with D20PRO. GM Budman ![]()
![]() eggellis, check out the thread that I created on the Gamer Connection forum: https://paizo.com/threads/rzs42evb?D20PRO-Skype-Looking-to-form-an-online What Adventure Path(s) are you and your party interested in playing? GM Budman ![]()
![]() I'm looking to form a Pathfinder (1E) group in which the GM and players participate in online live game sessions using the D20PRO virtual tabletop program (d20pro.com) along with Skype for voice chat. The D20PRO software is available as a free download and I have six guest licenses so players can also connect to my game for free if I am hosting as GM. I'm willing to initially serve as GM for the group but the GM role can be rotated as the group sees fit if others are interested in taking on the GM mantle. Before we can begin discussing adventure and campaign options, we first need to assemble a group of four or five dependable players (of any PFRPG experience level) and determine a day and time when we all could be available to conduct our game sessions, which would most likely occur biweekly or 2 or 3 times a month. My general availability would typically be as follows, in order from most to least preferred: Saturday mornings
I am located in the US Central timezone and work full-time days Monday through Friday. If becoming a member of a group like this interests you, please reply to this thread and indicate your availability. Also, if you have questions, feel free to either post them in a reply or send them to me in a PM. If we can find a common day and time that works for enough people then we'll be able to move on to the next step of discussing adventure options. Typically for a new online group like this I offer to run a homebrew campaign comprised of loosely-connected modules. For the right group, however, I will consider starting to run a Pathfinder Adventure Path. Thanks, GM Budman ![]()
![]() You should consider attending GameHole Con in Madison, WI. This year's convention (GameHole Con VI) runs from 11/8 to 11/11/2018. Future planned conventions: GameHole Con VII: October 31 - November 3, 2019

![]() 10/7 update: We still have an opening for another player. The party currently consists of the following third-level PCs: female half-elf paladin of Osiris [player has taken a leave of absence until early November]
Our next session is scheduled for Saturday, 10/20 from 10 AM to 1 PM CDT. If you are interested in joining the game please reply to this thread or send me a Private Message. Thanks, GM Budman ![]()
![]() 8/25 update: we still have openings for one or two more players. The party currently consists of the following three second-level PCs: female half-elf paladin of Osiris
The PCs have almost reached Level 3. Our next session is scheduled for Saturday, 9/8 from 10 AM to 1 PM CDT. If you are interested in joining the game please reply in this thread and/or send me a Private Message. Thanks, GM Budman ![]()
![]() Question on scaling encounter C2 for four players: Spoiler: The scaling instructions say to reduce the Tempest Monarch's current HP to 30. Is this correct for both subtiers? For the low subtier, this reduces the dragon's HP by 7 (from 37 down to 30). For the high subtier, however, this reduces the dragon's HP by 38 (from 68 down to 30), or over half of its total HP. ![]()
![]() Update: a player has left the game so we have an opening for one or two more players. The party currently consists of the following four first level PCs: female half-elf paladin of Osiris
The PCs have almost reached Level 2. Our next session is scheduled for Saturday, 7/21 from 10 AM to 1 PM CDT. If you are interested in joining the game please reply in this thread and/or send me a Private Message. Thanks, GM Budman ![]()

When I run an AP, I try to keep things "by the book" for the most part, but for this game I'm looking to allow both myself and the PCs more freedom to alter and affect the development and progression of the campaign storyline. How would I characterize my GM style? I try to be fair when applying the rules, but will allow creative solutions by the PCs to bend the rules every now and then. While in combat, I like to keep the action going and I expect all players to be paying attention so when their turn comes up they are ready to go. When playing online I expect players to be punctual and ready to start at the announced time. If a player is unable to make a scheduled session I expect them to respect the rest of us and let us know in advance if possible. I'd be happy to answer more specific questions if they would help to define my GM style for you. ![]()
![]() Michael Johnson DM85 wrote: Is there a specific PF AP Players Guide I should look at? Any classes you suggest? Lastly, do you allow drawbacks and flaws? As I indicated in my initial post, I am looking to run a campaign consisting of loosely strung together modules, not a formal Pathfinder Adventure Path. Having said that, based on my campaign's starting location in Brevoy, you could look at the Kingmaker AP Players Guide for ideas since that AP begins in the same region. I don't have any specific class suggestions, as long as the party ends up with a balanced mix of classes. I'm OK with your PC taking an extra (3rd) trait along with a drawback if you want to do that, but it is not required. ![]()
![]() Following is what I am considering for the starting campaign location and adventure. Your party has arrived in the small town of Graymane, located about 100 miles northeast of New Stetven in the northeastern Avistan nation of Brevoy. Graymane sits along the northern bank of the headwaters of the East Sellen River, which flows southwesterly through the center of the Gronzi Forest and into Lake Reykal, where it then continues to flow south into the eastern River Kingdoms. You have received word that a logging consortium out of Graymane is looking for adventurers to assist them in reclaiming a forward logging camp, which has recently been abandoned. The locals widely accept that the forest is cursed or haunted-—protected by a spirit of the wilds. Even the most seasoned hunters and trappers know not to venture too far into the forest. ![]()
![]() Thinking that it might help recruitment, following are the general character creation rules that I'd ask players to follow when creating their PCs: A first-level character with 0 XP, a non-evil alignment, and either 150 gp or average starting gold for his or her class (whichever is greater) to spend on weapons, armor, equipment, and supplies shall be created. Ability scores shall be purchased using 20-point-buy (High Fantasy). First-level HP shall be the full hit die of the character’s selected class plus the character’s con modifier. The character shall select a favored class. Whenever the character takes a level in their favored class, the character gains one additional HP, one additional Skill Point, or some other (possibly fractional) benefit if a qualifying racial- or archetype-based favored class bonus is selected (character’s choice). All core rulebook races are allowed. Additionally, the following bestiary races (without racial hit dice) are allowed: Aasimar and Tiefling. The Drow, Noble Drow, Duergar, Goblin, Hobgoblin, Kobold, Merfolk, Orc, Svirfneblin and Tengu races are not allowed. All core rulebook classes are allowed. Additionally, the following are allowed: the base classes defined in the Advanced Player's Guide (with the exception of the Summoner class)
The character shall select two traits from among the following sources: the basic Pathfinder trait categories or sub-categories, regional traits from the Inner Sea Primer, or race and regional traits from Chapter 1 of Ultimate Campaign. Note that the “Rich Parents” trait is not allowed. The medium XP progression will be used. Base HP for each even level shall be the (class hit die / 2). Base HP for each odd level starting at level 3 shall be the (class hit die / 2) + 1. So, for example, a class with a d8 hit die would gain the following base HP at each level: Level 1: 8
Finally, note that Player Character options presented in other Paizo, Inc. and/or third-party Pathfinder products not listed above may be allowed on a case-by-case basis with prior GM approval. ![]()
![]() I'm looking for players for a new online Pathfinder game. I am reposting this recruitment here in the "Gamer Connection" forum (originally posted in the "Online Campaigns\Recruitment" forum) since this is not a play-by-post game. Saturday mornings US Central time would be my preferred time for running 3-hour sessions (9:00 AM to noon would be ideal). Sessions would usually be planned for 2 or 3 alternating Saturdays per month, with occasional back-to-back Saturday sessions planned based on the group's schedules. Instead of Saturday mornings I could do alternating Sunday mornings US Central time (I attend local PFS sessions two alternating Sundays per month). Alternating Saturday or Sunday evenings are other possibilities, if players cannot do weekend morning sessions. Game sessions would be run using the D20PRO virtual tabletop program (d20pro.com) along with Skype for voice chat. The D20PRO software is available as a free download and I have six guest licenses so players can also connect to my game for free. For this game, I would like to run a campaign made up of loosely-connected modules set in the Pathfinder world of Golarion, as opposed to running a formal Adventure Path. If a game like this interests you, please reply to this thread (or send me a private message) and I will send you a private message with more information. Thanks, GM Budman ![]()

![]() Cowheadz wrote: Hey you still got an opening? I have been looking everywhere to play with a group. Hi, Cowheadz. We currently have five players in the group but we haven't started playing yet (I had to travel for work recently which delayed things). We are planning to play this coming Saturday evening, 2/18 (6-9 PM US Central time). I don't know yet if all five can play, so I'd be OK with you joining us for our first session (so you can check out the group). Can you enable Private Messages for your Paizo account? Then I can send you a PM and exchange email and Skype contact info. Thanks, GM Budman ![]()
![]() Looks like we currently have 3 players for a new online game: Ulrich (Chris), his friend Jon and Conor. Assuming we can find at least one more player, I propose that we have our first session on Saturday, 1/28 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM US Central time. Will that work for everyone? Has anyone already played the Pathfinder Module Master of the Fallen Fortress? I'm scheduled to run it as a PFS session at a local con in March. Since I need to prepare to run it anyways, I can set up to run it in d20Pro as well for you guys. If you don't want to play that I can find something else to start the group out on. I'll email more info once I have everyone's email addresses. GM Budman (Andy) ![]()

I use Skype for voice chat and d20Pro for the virtual table top (maps and tokens, handouts, etc.). I have 6 guest seats so there is no need for any players to purchase a license. Just download and install v3.6.11 of d20Pro (available here: http://d20pro.com/download-d20pro/ ). GM Budman ![]()
![]() The Strange Aeons campaign that I'm running is in need of one additional player. We play online Wednesday evenings from 7-9:30 PM US Central Standard Time (CST) using d20Pro and Skype. We are about half way through Chapter 1. The new player will be asked to create a Level 2 PC given a fixed amount of starting wealth. The party currently consists of the following: female human paladin
If interested, please post a reply in this thread and/or send me a private message and I will contact you with more info. GM Budman ![]()
![]() I'm still waiting for a couple of people to reply, so I'll post this here: I'd like to schedule our first "Get to know you" session for Wednesday, 9/21 from 7:00 to 9:30 PM US Central time. This month I am already committed to GMing levels of Thornkeep for PFS at my local game store on the Tuesday evenings of 9/13 and 9/27, so I'd like to schedule this group for the "in between" week. Does the 21st work for everyone? ![]()
![]() DM Swan wrote: I would also vote for going through an AP. I'm currently running (as GM) Curse of the Crimson Throne. So I would vote for King Maker, Second Darkness, or (if you have it) - Hell's Rebels. I'll email everyone a short list of survey questions asking what APs you are playing/have played, really would be interested in playing, etc. After I hear back from everyone I'll collate and publish the results, create a short list of "candidates," and then ask everyone to vote.
