Franc raises an eyebrow at the sudden appearance of everyone coming out the door, but continues his conversation with the city guard till he is able to excuse himself and join his companions. Walking over to them he ask,"Any news?"

Looks like was absent a day longer than I thought, haha. Franc nods and waits to see what the professor has to say. Being a foreigner it seems the locals often more luck with the people of this strange land. No wonder Ragathiel saw fit to send him here.

SM 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Stepping forward, Franc seems pleased with woman's response, but feels he may learn more,"Madame, I thank you for what you have told us this day and your story has stirred the spirit of Ragathiel. He compels me to action, thus I must ask you a few more questions so we may exact vengeance on the responsible party. What did the children do when they returned in death?

"Indeed we have, sir, indeed we have. It seems the village had become the manor of fiend committing unspeakable acts upon the dead. The others will surely fill in the details, but what I can tell you is that we have dispatched no less than 3 ghouls, one being of particularly powerful nature. The others.....the others were children once. And have been returned to a state of rest, but it is they who might intrigue you most."

"I agree, young knight. The business of nobles is never that of the guard. The sway of power and station rarely go punished by any other than those of equal power. But what benefit could they see by inciting civil disobedience? May they be linked to the wraith we dispatched?"

As the energy gifted him from his lord, Franc again gives thanks to Ragathiel for allowing him to be a conduit for just vengeance. "We have done a good thing here this day, my friends. Let us seek out what we may and attend these precious souls. The beast is looking far more innocent with each step I take in this dark country." The knight sheathes his mighty sword and takes on the role of chaplain administering rites and healing those of his companions who are in need. Let me know who needs healing.

"I must sanctify these poor souls before we move on. I shall exact due vengeance upon the fiend responsible for the damnation of these children and the Beast." Gathering the fragile forms of the lifeless children together,Franc sprinkles holy water upon their bodies before removing his vermilion cape emblazoned with the holy symbol of the five winged lord and covering their forms. Kneeling before the departed and raising his sword, he says,"Lord Ragathiel, I plead with you to give me the strength to exact your divine vengeance upon one most foul and of corrupt nature who would despoil children. Please care for their restless souls. May they ride under your protection to a land of joy, free of the terrors they knew in their short lives." Bowing his head for but a moment before rising, Franc says, "Vengeance shall be ours. We hunt."

Gathering the others close Franc cast bless then bull's strength on himself. "May your strikes be true and glory be to us all. May the hand of the five winged lord guide us this and allow us the strength to save what may be left of the young one's soul. Let him give us the power to exact vengeance upon the fiend seeing utterly destroyed. Go forth my brothers and strike true for the power of Ragathiel is with us all!" With his sermon complete Franc draws his bastard sword and leads the way into battle.

"I understand the calls of vengeance, but how is it that this beast seems to be ranging so far? In my experience, predators of all sizes tend have a territory they most often adhere to. Crossing channels and vast expanses is not common, though it is not unheard of. I am unconvinced it could be operating alone. A much greater threat is pulling the strings here. Mark my words."

"Some of us yes others no. I am Sir Franc DuMein, servant of his most honored five winged lord, Ragathiel. I once had the fortune to come upon the the professor in a time of need and saved his life. In turn he gave me far more knowledge than I had of catching the shambling dead unaware. I came to investigate the good man's death."

"While I cannot speak for all in attendance, my lady, I am sure the good knight errant Sir Darren and myself have vested interest in seeing the due process is meted out to this...beast." Bowing his head Franc awaits the others' input. |
