My first is this.. Rage feats. Sure we have rage powers but I mean something simple, like maybe the pathfinder equivalent of extend rage by giving you more points if you take the feat. Everlasting Fury (General)
This kind of feat would help some of the barbarians without fantastically high CON scores. Suggestion: It's not said anywhere but how about when you gain more constitution through natural means of level gain (4th lvl, 8th, etc.) you gain rage points equal to your barbarian level so it works sort of like hitpoints? say you had 14 con to start, then at 4th you made it 15, then 16 and 8th level. Well now you would gain 2+3 rage points first for the level, right? Well now you gain 7 more for those last 7 barbarian levels. More will come as I think of it ^.^
If you gain constitution through gaining levels (4, 8, 12, 16, 20) do you get any additional rage points? This question might be better for a seperate thread. Ok here is a little review of each power: First of all.... why make everything in multiples of 3? Animal Fury: Though not exactly what I would call powerful. It's certainly useful AND flavorful. If by some unlikely event your barbarian is grappled suddenly he/she tears into the foe's flesh with their teeth. Clear Mind: This is some good stuff, can't say anything more. Increased Damage Reduction: I say this is too expensive.. WAYYY too expensive for the benefit. 6 points for 1 damage for ONE round? 3 for 18 points for one round? *gasp!* A better number would be 4, at the very most 5 but 6 is way too much. Elemental Rage: This is really a massive gamble and thus I probably wouldn't ever find myself using it for the price of 12. I figure the first attack will hit and good chance the second. Assuming these hit you are adding anywhere between 2-12 damage, but more than like 6-8 damage in all and thats if they hit. 9 points is nicer. Guarded Stance: Great stuff, but is there a minimum of 1 if you are level 1? Intimidating Glare: Nice stuff =) I don't think i'd ever use it personally but i'm sure someone will. Though maybe 4 points is better or 5, i mean isn't shaken a -2? I dunno nobody has ever been shaken in my games so I can't give any experienced input on it. Knockback: Nifty, though would you be able to walk the 5 feet with them with each hit? Low-Light Vision: Nice Mighty Swing: I'm loving this. Even with a price of 12 you are taking away a roll that has to be done. Now with my barbarian wielding a dire pick an automatic x4 damage is nice without having to worry about if its a crit or not. Moment of Clarity: THANK YOU Night Sight: Again, nice. Quick Reflexes: Good stuff, though i was never one that dealt with many AoO's. Renewed Vigor: Oh I am so digging this, though a standard action? I mean do you really expect a barbarian to be in the middle of battle to basically down the equivalent of a cure light potion? Rolling Dodge: See Guarded Stance. Roused Anger: Good for those emergencies when you absolutely need it. Strength Surge: Wow, thats all I can say. Make him unable to be disarmed or tripped or bullrushed :O sweet. Surprise Accuracy: Another good emergency power =) Me likey. Swift Foot: Nice, really nice. Nice and cheap. Suddenly a barbarian has a speed of 70 and just tears S--- up! This would be sick with spring attack ~.^ Terrifying Howl: Panicked is a much more appealing status and I could see my future barbarian taking it. Unsuspecting Strike: Oh now you are just WANTING to make them powerful. Kudos.
Am I the only one that finds this new pathfinder fighter to be rather stale still? Now its indeed an improvement but... 3-3.5 fighter: feat, feat, nothing, feat, nothing, feat, nothing, etc.
as said, it's an improvement, but still the class doesn't seem exciting at all. Now what I really liked was the options and feats presented for the fighter in PHB2. Made myself a kobold fighter that took ranged weapon master, weapon focus, greater weapon focus, weapon spec. greater weapon spec. feats for crossbows, PLUS crossbow sniper. He would be doing something like +8-10 damage with each crossbow shot and it was wonderful. But what made it nice was the feats that i decided to use on upping my damage. I dunno if this makes sense, i'm typing this rather tiredly. I don't know if just giving + to armor/hit/damage makes for better fluff or excitement. Maybe this is why i like the 4e changes to the fighter so much, rather like abilities more than just flat bonuses. And on the weapon training bonuses. In reality you just need maybe 2 weapon bonuses instead of you ending up with 4 different weapon groups being upped. I mean you have your melee weapon you are specialized in and probably have weapon focus in, then you have your ranged weapon (or this could be in reverse). I have never met a fighter in any of my campaigns that ever used any sort of backup weapon. Maybe they do though in many campaigns, i don't know. I'm just talking from my personal experience. It's the idea of increasing your specialization in a weapon vs. maybe some exciting abilities or "maneuvers" like the ones you gave to the rogue, that was really spiffy.
Read topic. I have been basically wandering in my mind about what to do for the next 30 years as a career when it hit me.... I love games and P&P games, why don't I help make it happen?! It's doing what I love and making it my job?! where can I go wrong? Q_Q I'm only halway through college with no real major yet (just going for liberal arts degree just for the sake of having a degree until i find out what i need). So I thought to myself... "How about I one day get a job at paizo's or at wizards? How do I do such a thing?" Leaving this lame state of michigan is something I am PRAYING for, i hate this place! I used to love it but the family stress is making me stab my eyes! The last 2 years have been pure hell and I need out! What do I need oh great paizo workers?! I thought about video game making but I don't wanna learn the programing and math, I am MUCH MORE of a idea person. I like to take cards and fill out story boards and such with crude drawings! I was always the obsessive D&D guy with all the books at the gaming table and I got peeps that will testify to that! after this fall i'll have 32 out of 62 credits for a degree but still be able to do what i need to do >_> help me paizo help me!
Anybody look at the eyes on this elf (or half elf, i forget) rogue? She has the black-ish eyes of those grey aliens you see on the UFO shows >.> whats up with that? Just wayne's choice? Or could it point to something else like a possible fiendish heritage? Or do elves in this world have big ol eyes like that?
Alright it says in her "meet the iconic" writings that tattoo magic plays both aesthetics and function as part of her character and is part of her personality... my question is... What is tattoo magic from? this is really familiar and I would like to know where i can find more on this. I know of the tattooed monk and I think some psionicists can use tattoos but she is a sorcerer. Does anyone know what this could possibly be from? Or will this be some kind of pathfinder ability thing?
Of all the places I would be sure that would have this wonderful card game, I thought it would have been the non-video gamer paradise that is paizo :( but no I was wrong! It's like almost NO PLACE has this darn game! My buddy has it and he had to buy it online because is seems like no place has it! I havent posted in many months but felt it was time to vent my sadness :( come on paizo!
I dont wanna go looking through 50 issues of dragon magazine that i have so my question is. Which issue has the 2 or so pages dedicated to the orders of the red knights? and has like spells based off of chess and such and shows a cleric in a bright red shiny breastplate? They are with the one goddess of strategy etc. in faerun, has like a red chess piece as her symbol e.e I loved that but I can't find it!
Hello Paizo Publishing. I have a simple request O.o. I dont want to get in any legal trouble or anything so I will ask you first before i post it, though it shouldnt be much trouble at all. A while ago I posted the idea of putting MTG monsters into D&D, and one of your guys said that probably wasnt going to happen. So now i have decided to take the reverse approach and put D&D monsters into MTG. So what I need from you is permission to be able to use the pictures of certain creatures from various issues (most notably the pyroclastic dragon). I could just use the pic from the draconomicon but lets face the facts people, that picture doesnt even compare to the picture in #300. Your artists are top notch i tell ye! And the reason i even ask this is because of MTG editor (program to let you make your own mtg cards) and you can upload pictures, etc.) Then I will probably post the cards somehow onto the forums of the MTG website. No im not giving out stats or anything like that, I just need to be able to use the pictures. If this has to be bumped to keep it alive then so be it, this is something I REALLY need cleared up before I go any farther.
A simple idea, a issue dedicated to all those other races sort of left behind that arent core class but still great to play, such as lizardfolk, kobolds (my favorite, perhaps maybe a new type of kobold would be nice that is maybe a little bit less sucky than the current one with all their negatives), the newly revised kenku would be worth seeing some content added for them, gnolls, bugbears, minotaurs, goblins, all would be great to see have some stuff set aside just for them. i realize there has been stuff for monstrous races in the past such as for when the monster races books came out but i felt they didnt quite grasp at the concept fully enough. Just a thought, anyone else?
Simple, Wizards makes both Dungeons and Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, so why not make monsters out of some of the cards of MTG. Like the Root Elemental, Scaled Wurm, Earthshaker, etc. You could even make some of the races they have on there like moonfolk, kitsunes, phyrexians, kavu, slivers, and all that good stuff. You could call it a article called "MTG Hits DND" What you think? Anyone?
Quit simply, drakes are a WHOLE other class from the dragons, though the real difference is that they are mainly smaller they have only been in tiny doses in 3.0 and 3.5, only recently there have been 2 drakes in monster manual 3 and 1 or 2 in draconomicon, i believe this should be the time of the drake to finally show its muscle, give us more drake beasties we could fight or train or somehow you can make a prestige class based off one, etc. Am i right or am i right?
The mercury dragon was a great monster from 2nd edition and WOTC decided to screw it over with just a little thing of it on the website. I know there are other dragons on the wotc site that were on the site but on the draconomicon, but i believe the mercury really needs to be in a new issue with full picture and all that goodness ^.^ Unless there is a new issue with that in it, but if not then please make one. that would really make my day. PS. My heart goes out to those other poor dragons. Mist Dragon, we feel your pain. |
