Fidgit eyes widen as he was not really expecting an altercation to insue. After realizing the the start of hostile action, he quickly noches an arrow and lets fly!

"Finally! This is what you left the boredom of the gate for. Time to make an impression on my new companions."

For the party's info, Fidgit will go along with the direction of the party, but he would be itching to dust off his bow that has never known combat (outside of the practice range). Vote for confront, if it matters.

Leaning over and speaking in a voice audible only to Tsakolk, "These guards are getting on my nerves. Are we prepared to take this to next level?"

Fidgit gets more interested with the guard's threat. "Unpleasant? Would that be a threat of some kind? You may regret that action. It works both ways you know. Do you intend to dishonor yourselves AND the Ripper?"

"Absolutely!" Fidgit gives a quick wink at Hadanka, confirming Fidgit understood what he was implying. "Could you imagine the disgrace of fighting for a man who is unable to appreciate the clanging of swords upon the battlefield. I believe 'murdered' is a bit glamorous. Withering, sick, and feeble is an unspeakable end to a hero's reign." Fidgit addresses the guards directly, "If this were the case, I know I would not expect my loyal subjects to prevent me from recovering."

"Aiding the sick? Not really what I was expecting. I suppose we'll have to work our way up to a more exciting assignment, but at least it's not standing on a wall watching people go in and out of a gate."

Fidgit will go up to the gate and "knock", "Ahoy! We have business with Skelg. Please open up and allow us to proceed!"

"It would appear discipline is a bit more lacks in the ranks of the Pathfinders. I can definitely get use to not having a watch captain screaming at me over what seems to be trivial subjects"

Looking around a smile shows as Fidgit is even more confident of his choice to leave the gate watch and join the Pathfinders. He acknowledges the half-orc addressing him, "Thank you. Ummm, Tsakolk, isn't it? I've often seen you come and go through the front gate. I'm excited to finally see some action and experience life beyond boring shifts at the gate." Fidgit extends a hand, "We've never been properly introduced. Fidgit Gossamar."

Fidgit moves around to the others offering a similar greeting. "Would any of you know the nature of our upcoming assignment? Am I correct in assuming we all are fairly green to Pathfinder life? If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm particularly skilled with the use of this." He reaches behind him and gives his longbow a jostle. "Should the need arise, I'm not unfamiliar with the ole standby though." Fidgit taps the head of a Warhammer hanging to his side with his other hand. "Tsakolk's reputation precedes him, but may I inquire to what skills the rest of you intend to contribute?"

Greetings all. Excited to get started with a "regular" group. Should be a lot of fun.

meet the player:
40 yr old. Married. Adult stepdaughter. 1 cat (mine), 2 wiener dogs (wife's), 4 turtles, 1 hedgehog. Customer service supervisor in a call center. Marine Corps vet. Nerd. Gamer.

Been playing D&d since 2nd edition. Occasional other random rpg's. Approximately 2 yrs ago my real life d&d group split up after a couple members moved away. Hoping to fill the d&d void I ventured to the pbp here at paizo.

I like the idea of the common rules PFS provides, allowing players from anywhere to come together and play on an even field. I like pbp a lot due to the "daily" fix without having to allocate 4+ hours in a single block, and trying to coordinate with many different peoples RL schedules.

Greetings.

Spending many nights on guard on the wall of Absalom, Fidgit often ushered returning Pathfinders through the gates. Many times hearing the fantastic stories of adventuring during their assignments.

One evening, halfway through his watch, the boredom and monotony of numerous eventless hours finally broke his will to hold on to the safety and comfort of city living. As he conveyed the lack of excitement to the relief guard replacing him, he looked at his longbow and longsword. Sparkling like new still from lack of use, he secured them to his body and headed home.

He didn't sleep much that night, as various imagery danced in his head of distant lands, mysterious magic items, and horrific creatures put down by his own arrows. He will be joining heading to the Grand Lodge tomorrow to begin a new life... as a Pathfinder.

Fidgit moves up to hopefully flank with someone, and readies to attack just before the minotaur's turn... allowing anyone to move up and flank also.

assuming the minotaur has reach, this should draw an AoO.

Fidgit takes a 5' step out from the side tunnel and swings both swords overhead and down simultaneously.

"What the hell is this disgusting blob?"

unable to get around to attack, Fidgit runs back the way they came, rounds the corner to an adjacent tunnel and darts down the direction the group was travelling. Following the sounds of the group he appears at the tunnel opening just south of the gelatinous cube

Fidgit wipes his blade clean with the rags one of the kobolds was wearing.

"They were no match for my elegant sword style."

After cleaning each blade, Fidgit flips both blades simultaneously, then slams them into their sheaths.

"Anything interesting in hear besides the little lizard corpses?"

Fidgit again pulls out his journal and quickly writes a few paragraphs, followed by an elaborate drawing of himself dispatching the kobolds.

Fidgit spins around in front of the kobold and grips both hilts tight as he tries to deliver 2 attacks to the enemy.

Fidgit bounds across the water onto a rock, then jumps with a flip to the opposite shore, closes with the blue kobold and swings his short sword.

"What kind of ritual? In the interest of diplomacy, if it will carry favor with our aquatic friend here, I will volunteer to attempt this ritual." Fidgit approaches the pool, kneels at the edge and looks back at the party, shrudging his shoulders. "Now what?"

Fidgit releases his grip on his swords and relaxes from his alert, "Obviously this is something of note."

He takes a seat near the water, facing the model of the city. Pulling out his journal, he does his best to recreate a picture of the surroundings.

Fidgit relaxes his grip on the hilts of his short swords, thinking to himself, "It appears this creature poses no threat. I'll stay on alert, just in case though." Fidgit turns his attention more on the visible entrances to areas not yet explored, and keeps an eye out for other possible threats.

Fidgit follows Bulroar grasping the hilts of his short swords, ready to draw and fight, if needed.

"It's all gibberish and unrelated symbols and pictures to me." Fidgit finishes copying a few last details in his journal, slaps the binder closed and shakes it. "Probably why Janira told us to record the events of our confirmation. In case we found something important, but were too inexperienced or lacked the skill to figure out" Having duely noted his journal, Fidgit takes a seat on a rock and waits for his fellow initiates to finish their study of the painted walls.

"I may not understand these writings, but they seem important. I'll make a copy of them in my journal and let people back at the lodge, more educated in such things, figure them out."

Fidgit does the best he can to copy what is on the walls into his journal.

"I'm not sure it means someone is expecting us. It does mean there is eather someone/something further inside, or there is a different way out of here besides the way we came. Either way, I don't plan to carry a 3' wide plank around with me. It's just not very stylish. I would say leave it in place, in case we need to make a quick escape back."

"Hey! This thing looks useful. Here!" Fidgit places the plank across the pit to provide a bridge across for the rest of the party.

"This thing could have come in handy earlier, but then I wouldn't have been able to show off with that amazing leap I made earlier."

"No problem. Toss me the rope."

Figit looks around for something to anchor the rope to.

If there is nothing to anchor the rope to, Figit will knot the rope to make it easy for climbing, tie the end around his waist to anchor it, and drop the opposite end into the pit.

With his journal updated, Fidgit focuses on the other side of the pit for a moment, then darts forward and jumps across.

While the group is getting organized, Fidgit will record the minotaur incident in his journal. Complete with a detailed picture of Janira tossing her pack into the cave trying to save the group from battle with the beast and equipping them for whatever may lie ahead.

Fidgit taps the handles of his 2 short swords.

"But I suppose I'll hold on to this in case any of you might need it later."

Fidgit secures one of the potions of cure light wounds to his belt.

"Maybe this one too... unless someone else wants to hold onto it for now?"

Fidgit also grabs the one of the flasks of alchemist's fire

"Well, 1st order of business... let's see what Janira left us in her pack."

Fidgit grabs the pack, opens it, starts to remove each item inside. He holds each item up to show off to the party, allowing each to be identified.

Fidgit puffs up his chest and places his hands on the hilts of his swords. Obviously thinking about engaging the minotaur. But when he hears Gailen confirm Janira's instructions and head into the cave, Fidgit reconsiders and dashes into the cave behind Gailen.

"I'm sure we could have taken it! I suppose part of being a pathfinder involves following our leaders' commands. She MUST know what she's doing."

Figit pulls out a flask of alchemists' fire, scans over the directions labeled on the bottle, then throws it at the swarm of snakes.

alchemist fire:
Alchemist's Fire: You can throw a flask of alchemist's fire as a splash weapon. Treat this attack as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet.

A direct hit deals 1d6 points of fire damage. Every creature within 5 feet of the point where the flask hits takes 1 point of fire damage from the splash. On the round following a direct hit, the target takes an additional 1d6 points of damage. If desired, the target can use a full-round action to attempt to extinguish the flames before taking this additional damage. Extinguishing the flames requires a DC 15 Reflex save. Rolling on the ground provides the target a +2 bonus on the save. Leaping into a lake or magically extinguishing the flames automatically smothers the fire.
