Male Elf Conjurer 2

Well first off I hope things lighten up for you Stomp. As for SD I find it interesting and would not mind joining in if you have room. I would lean towards ranger, mind giving me a link for the character creation rules?

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Yeah its been a while. I still check in everyday or so.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Don't worry abou my guy unless something draws his attention he is pretty much just resting up. Something like you guys springing a trap or fighting off undead will draw his attention to be clear. :)

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya remains where he is not bothered by Gael's words. He was given no reason other then their need to run into danger. Their was no proof one way or the other. They faced undead and without preparation would join them, he cast a light spell on a pebble. He would wait for their return or likely hear the sounds of battle but he would not get himself killed or become a burden for the sake of haste.

Let me know if I need to make perception checks if anything happens

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya takes out his own weapon but does not move.

"I will remain here."

He hoped they would not gain a hard earned lesson but he knew better and would not ignore it for the sake of misguided pride. Fools hungry for glory and holy puppets died "honorable deaths" while mages often dealt with the problems of old age and great power, this was an example of why that pattern existed.

Someone misses their books and tea jk :)

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya only has one magic missile left so yeah he is next to useless and our casters tend to drop. So he is against it.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Moving is a pain, be happy if it only takes two days.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

"Yes well lets think about what has happened so far. We have found horses ripped apart outside the crypt, then when we entered we became trapped and ambushed by undead that remained dorment until we came along. So what happens when we go randomly moving around or into other areas, would it be safe to say we will trigger more traps and disturb more undead. The answer would be a reasonable yes, unless you can give me a logical reason to move ahead unprepared and fully rested, I don't see why we should walk into more trouble. Also if we can not tell where someone is, then how can they tell where we are. Then their is the question as to why they would assume we are not undead or other monsters moving about in here. Then their is yet the other question as to why they would think we survived these many dangers when others have not."

He had no intention of walking into things blind or boldly. Wizards caught unawares were at a great disadvantage and he was not going to risk everyone for what could be trap. Some time preparing was a small price for greater chances of survival.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

"I would be more worried if the wailing stopped, remember we are at least a day late maybe two. Whoever that is has been here longer then we have so I am more inclined to think it is a trick or trap, rather then someone who just happens to get in trouble the moment we show up after being here for at least a full day. Gael I will take you up on your offer."

Finally get to prepare my new spells :)

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Did anyone make their roll cause my guy failed it?

Male Elf Conjurer 2

"We should rest, recover, and prepare. Moving about disturbing more undead before we are ready does not seem like the best idea to me."

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Its a crypt so I would bet the stair cases lead down not up. :)

"I think rest would be well advised, that way we can prepare for the undead which reason would lead have only begun to show themselves."

Male Elf Conjurer 2

"I think it best to study that book along with that door space. As stated before the dead are no longer just that here."

Feraya cast a spell to help with anything magical also another to keep his guard up.

Cast Detect Magic and Resistance.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya studies Art and his actions.

Skills:
Knowledge (Arcana, History, Local, Religion), Spellcraft
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Whats the point of having those skills if you dont use them. ^.^

Male Elf Conjurer 2

HP
1d6 ⇒ 1, take average 3 -.-

Will +1

BAB +1

Knowledge (Arcana) +1
Knowledge (Dungeoneering) +1
Knowledge (Engineering) +1
Knowledge (Local) +1
Knowledge (Nature) +1
Linguistics +1
Spellcraft +1

Spells Added
Alarm
Feather Fall

If anyone has better suggestions on 1st level spells feel free to say so. Btw are we considered resting in game so I can prepare new spells or no?

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya goes back to his lesser spell now that things seem in hand.

Acid Splash:
Acid Splash vs SC
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
1d3 ⇒ 2

To bad you cant crit on a spell >.<

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya cast a different spell seeing things getting out of hand yet again.

Magic Missile vs S1/S5
1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Sorry for stealing your kill Art but better not to give the skeleton another round. Or maybe my roll will be a 1 yet again -.-

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya recast the spell aiming at the same skeleton

Acid Splash:

AC 12+4 MA, HP 7
Acid Splash vs S1/S2
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
1d3 ⇒ 1

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Perception
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

"Surprise surprise, who could have seen this coming I wonder."

Acid Splash vs S1
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
1d3 ⇒ 1

Attack S4 if cant hit S1 for any reason.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya keeps to the back expecting something to happen the whole time.

Feraya moves to M3

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya cast his own protection spell shortly before entering with the others.

Cast Mage Armor

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya takes the rations and lamp oil from the bags while leaving the rest. He then tosses his light stone into the entrance while keeping back. He was not going to walk right into what could be an ambush.

Let me know if I need to roll anything for tossing the stone.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya finally cracks. Was reason lost on everyone or did he have the old man to thank for stuffing his head with so much knowledge. He disliked both.

"By all the gods enough is enough. The horses likely belong to our fellow villagers who came here ahead of us to set up more test. What is with in the bags supports that line of thought. But I rather doubt that they would kill there own horses or anything like that so it is clear something happened. The bones under that horse are far older then normal which would mean they likely came from the crypt. Seeing as the villagers did not kill their own steeds much less go thru the trouble of placing old bones from a crypt they consider sacred under it, my reason leads me to think the skeleton got there the same way it got out of the crypt. Under its own power, my best guess is that something has caused the dead to rise as undead. As this has never happened before to the best of my knowledge or apparently to that of the villagers that came here before us. I am lead to believe that they were attacked as their horses clearly have been. Anymore then that is beyond me, I would also say it is safe to assume any bones out of place or otherwise may be dormant undead. Heed my words or not as I may be wrong but I for one refuse to enter if any of you think this is a ruse or game."

He did not like that his emotions got the better of him in that moment but things had only grown worst sense they left. Nearly all of them had met their end at one point or another, now the body count had finally started and while he felt no ties to these deaths he would not feel the same for the others. He did not know how it was for humans but elves did not overcome lost, it scared them and they nursed it for their many years. He would rather turn his back on them, then be a party to their self destructive ways which could have been avoided by simply practicing a little caution.

Feraya picks up a smooth stone and cast a light spell on it. The stone shines like a torch.

Wow what a windbag, glad one of those should not come along again for a while, but who knows.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Shhhh.......you hear that, thats the sound of Feraya's silence cracking like thin ice under the weight of lost logic. ;D

Btw I think ember needs to really gain a level or two, having a bloodline of fire should make her more havoc prone. Guess she is still in her shell. Hope we get to see her burn some monsters to ash before the end of the adventure.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya looks thru the saddle bags to see what they have inside.

I have some RPing to do depending on whats inside the bags. Please dont move into the crypt unless you just cant help yourself. ^.^

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya looks carefully over the scene. Seems some people had come here before them and he had a few guesses about that.

Perception
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Hey my guy is ready to go and he does not mind the rain, but I think the guys in leather or metal armor may want to take cover before they start squeaking. I bet that kills stealth checks among other things.

I have no idea yet if I will be continuing to DM the next adventure or not. We shall see :) I like the group but I dont know how they feel about me, well beyond Art that is :P

I will get back to you after the crypt, so far so good. If you should make my guy a ghost in the event of his permanent death that retains his spellcasting power and rips the BBG a new one for sweet sweet revenge then you can count on my vote for DM of the month. ^.^

Btw city of golden death sounds just great, like here is all the loot you could want but once you touch it a demon is summoned to eat your soul. XD

*gets out the popcorn* well now lets see how you guys do in the crypt.

Now that you guys have gamed together what are your thoughts about running the next book in this ark?

There is another book?

Btw I think the real test is in the crypt, so far its been shaky on some minor stuff so I dont think the team is too solid as things stand. Bunch of rookies that need to learn thru good old fashion pain how things should be done. I dare say our DM is just waiting to lay it down lol.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Finally we made it to the crypt, now we get to the good stuff. Hope we all survive but lets hear it for leg one of the quest pretty much done with.

<(^.^<) (!^.^!) (>^.^)>

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Hey I just woke up and had some errands so get the imp off your back ^.^

Feraya wakes up and shakes his head to clear it. He looks himself over and dust what he can off, he puts the pack back on standing at the ready without a word.

Ready to enter our tomb....I mean the tomb yeah thats what I meant ;D

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Facepalm

Remind me to get the feather fall spell should I live. Now where did I put that eulogy and tombstone from the wolves encounter.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Been wondering when we might gain a level?

I know we end this in 3rd level, ideally. But were almost at the crypt and still 1st level. So if anyone is keeping track let me know.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya cast a spell on himself just in case he should slip, uses the rope ember set up and takes his time in no rush to fall to his doom sould he indeed slip.

Dex+2, Slowly+2, Rope+?, Cast Resisrance +1 to saves
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Oh man last one got me >.<, rolling Ref save in case, maybe the rope saved me but doubt it.

Ref Save
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

I bet that caused me to break something >.<

Male Elf Conjurer 2

What she said ^

Paizo really does like using snakes in their writing. I ran a friend of mine through this after running him and some other friends through the first book of the Serpents Skull AP which happens to have a very large(human sized) bipedial snake in it. So for the rest of the book my friend was looking for another large snake...it was hilarious...almost as funny as the time one of his characters got their ear stuck to a mimic door...

I am afraid to ask ;)

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya waits pondering the absurdity of it all. It seemed they did not listen to what he said, so be it he would speak no more and let the fates have at it.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

"I for one do not have a shovel, yet I remind you we do have business to attend to of our own, not to mention on limited time due to food supplies. If he has been here like this for months then I doubt it matters at this point. If you insist on a burial then feel free to come back here after we have returned from town. As things stand it is impractical to waste our time and energy on this anymore. May we move on."

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya takes the coins looking them over.

"Seems these come from Nirmathas, they bear Forest Marshall Gavrick on them. So whoever this was I doubt he was a local and came from that city, at least he was there long enough to have all his coin come that city.

He takes the time to split the gold into five stacks while he is at it. Geal and Hagin's stack have 18 coins the rest 17.

"Well I dont think he will be needing this any longer. I split the coins in five stacks with two having eighteen coins for Geal and Hagin while the rest have seventeen for the rest of us."

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Well I guess as long as you know the basic's dispite the roll then their is no reason to take 10 on knowledge rolls. I mean if you roll a 1 on a knowledge roll for a werewolf it does not mean you dont know that basic info like their main weakness and what they are.

Also I think you said you cant roll untrained knowledge skills even if their class skills so thats why I left out those that would be directly more useful. Like say local and nature ^.^

Male Elf Conjurer 2

He keeps studying things about the body in more detail.

Knowledge (Geography, History, Religion)
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Man I know I have a bad perception mod but come on >.<

Well I guess I can still have hope if any knowledge rolls can be done.

Btw can you take 10 on perception rolls?

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Seemed like nothing was amiss and that someone ran afoul of fate. He moved closer to the body to examine it.

Perception
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Perception to study the body, also any knowledge checks on it?

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya cast a spell to detect any magic. It would be useless for beast and such but better to know if any magic was involved as soon as possible. He also found Art's warning to be as vague as the long off form, with a hint of distress he never heard from him before. Seemed this little quest was starting to wear away at some, he would have to be watchful.

Cast Detect Magic

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Oh come on its so fun to be involved in the madness. ^.^

Btw have we figured a marching order, I would think our meat shield would be in the front with a lesser meat shield in the back and the casters in the center. Depending on our rogues build he would be a forward scout or second line after our front runner. Any thoughts or better set ups?

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Perception
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Feraya tries to make out more of the figure but keeps his guard up just in case its another battle in the making.

Ember V wrote:

The next day you wake up in the charred remains of a forest. You can still see the fires burning on the horizon, and the air is thick with smoke.

A downcast Ember stands in the middle of the campsite, ash smudged on her cheeks, and a corner of her dress charred.

"I though I heard something in the dark, and I got scared..." she appologises.

Suddenly you hear a rumbling sound as the earth shakes. In the distance you see what is left of the forest shifting. Then it hits you the tree's are moving and under what is left of their bare branches comes a swarm of fey.

I suggest you think a real good story for the trents and fey coming to tear you apart you pyro ^.^

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Yep so Geal just has to post and we can move on to the next day where we head to the lake if I remember right. Hope we dont run into some lake monster >.<

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Damn you Jlighter that nearly toppled me out of my chair lol.

Oh well time to move on, we have a tomb to visit. Hopefully we leave it alive and if not I vote on becoming a ghost sense I cant make it to lich.

Male Elf Conjurer 2

Feraya arc's an eyebrow at Gael.

"If you wish me to lie then I will apologize, but I truthfully do not want or care for an apology and don't see what I have said as wrong. What I have been seeking is an explaination, if he thought these wolves were illusions as you seem to think then that only means he ignored my earlier words this day. If he has learned from this then I am fine with it. But if his only lessons are learned thru blood rather then words, I care not as long as it is his own. As I said before we can no longer be children, we all pay for the actions of one another."

With that Feraya has said his peace and departs for the night unless otherwise stopped. Hagin had ran away like a child rather then face things like a man. Dispite himself Feraya was thankful to Holgast for being so unbending thru out the years, the old man's lessons had been on more then magic. Not that it would stop him from kicking the chair from under him when he confirmed if it was in fact him that created the orcs.

Ready to move on oh great DM, so put down that popcorn and get to work. ^.^
