DEXRAY's example is one of the reasons why half the playerbase does not allow Grab or Trip during an AoO. Free actions, such as Quickdraw, or gripping your one-handed weapon with two hands, are generally understood to only function on your turn. So when a Wolf gets a "free action" to trip during a Bite attack, it's understandable why some don't allow it during an AoO.

But then our real-life-brains start grinding away and you think to yourself...

Wolf bites, wolf trips... snake bites, snake grabs... frog licks, frog pulls... what does it matter if it's its turn or not?

Complications of an abstract, turn-based, action-defined, combat system.

But what does the fox say?

Only if the unicorn uses it's gore attack at which point the rider would be an impale-adin.

Sounds more like neutral evil to me. Stealing a person's body against their will, and potentially burning it up in the process. Seems a little harsh for lawful neutral.

Wow - you're easily impressed! :-)

I'd put in talking without food in your mouth on the list though... Nothing worse than getting your minis and gaming aids covered in pizza/crisps due to an exuberant player yelling Charge!

I'm sure I could conjure a plethora of other more complicated deeds to impress me, but lets start with the basics :P

I was in a similar situation. Except this GM asked for feedback and when I gave it to him (with examples) he denied everything and took offense. Shortly after a player rage quit, and I followed suit after having none of my class abilities work multiple times in a game session and being told that I could not attack with a spell while being compulsed to attack an empty sarcophagus.
All of the RP was handled off camera with one other guy, and we were seriously railroaded to the point we had nno control over anything. Do yourself a favor and quit now before he really makes you mad. Sometimes pride gets in the way of what could be a good learning experience. Find an online gaming group if there isn't a local game you can join. Best of luck.

One free weapon proficiency.

Three builds come to mind.
1. Fighter(weapon master) 3/rogue(knifemaster, scout) X. This build can crank out some damage getting sneak attack on flank, charging, and improved two-weapon feint. It costs quite a bit of gold to be effective as u need 2 either agile or keen weapons and duelist gloves so your atk bonus doesn't suck. It also uses d8's for the sneak dice with kukris and daggers.

2. Rogue 3/ranger X. The 3 level dip in rogue to get 2d6 sneak attack and some extra class skills, but slower ranger progression. But this will make a STR based twf viable. You get your own flanking buddy, better BAB, and more hp. Bane weapons + instant enemy = murder.

3. Slayer. Slower sneak attack progression, but full BAB and d10. Bluff is a class skill max it. Make sure you have at least 15 DEX and enough gold to buy a +2 belt when you can qualify for improved two weapon feint. The favored target helps with the twf penalty and is more versatile than favored target.

Any one of these builds could also benefit from 1 level of wave Oracle to use obscuring mist for more sneak attacks. It does mean that u will need some CHA however. These are all twf builds which will get you more sneak dice but lower your attack bonus so boosting that is priority.

I bought the RotRL anniversary edition. I also made sure to purchase the pawn set, to add to the bestiary 1 pawn set that I already have they have been working out well. I did buy the face cards, my players actually look forward to seeing the cards pop up from behind the screen and they actually talk to the cards like they are actual people (after they chant puppet show). Btw they are all in their late 20s early 30s lol

If they are taking down a bbeg 3 levels earlier up the CR of the encounter. Alternatively if you give them 3 options and they go a different path, just run the encounter.

GM: "Ok you killed the gnoll encampment good job guys, back to town?"
PCs:"No we're going to wander around the woods and see what else we can kill."
GM:"Ok you guys run into the bandit camp that was listed on the board."
PC's:"Cool after we beat that we're going to continue going through the woods."
GM:"These woods are a dark and treacherous place. Are you sure?"
PCs: "Yeah this is a sandbox game so let's do it!"
GM: "Ok you happen upon a +6 CR encounter. Roll for initiative"
PCs: "Crap! lets get out of here! These woods are dangerous!"

Not everything in the world is beatable or at their level.

Just keep encounters prepped, the same bandits in the woods can be a gang of thugs in an alley ect.
If they still stray too far give them missions with time limits.

This class needs Bluff as a class skill. It has sneak attack which means feinting is going to be important to it. It also has Sense Motive, so it kinda makes sense to have Bluff.

Yeah the skill set seems pretty limited too. Searching out your quarry could entail gathering information and the location inside a city so some sort of social skills so bluff and diplomacy would be a good addition. Disable device is missing too, as a rogue alternative that's kind of important.

I would rather play Rogue 3/Ranger X to get the added class skills and combat style feats.
