Brother Liam sounds truthful, however the cadence of his speech is a little off. It could be due to todays trauma and recovery, or something else... "You sound a bit off Brother Liam. If you want we can wait to do this tomorrow." The constable states with obvious compassion towards the young clergymen. Brother Liam shakes his head and says "We can continue". "Very well. And you lot. Anything to add before I ask my questions?" He continues, his tone changes from the warmth he showed Brother Liam to a having a hint of disdain towards you. ![]()

Increased activity at an old stone circle near the SW wall of the city, disappearances, and sightings of Myconids in the north forest. Brother Liam seems more lively and is giving his account of today to the other members of the temple. Knowledge Nature DC 10:
Myconids are a fungal humanoid. Typically found underground or under thick canopy, the forest to the north does not fit their typical environment. Entering the temple is the constable from before. He asks if he can speak to Brother Liam and the party to finish his investigation. ![]()

![]() You emerge through the portal and it soon dissipates. The constable takes his leave and says he may come by later in the evening to ask some questions after he has had a word with the Fay'Aree. You look where the fighting had taken place, and there are no corpses. When you ask about them people give you puzzled looks. "Lets go back to the temple. We'll make do with what we have in stock for the feast tonight. You have all earned a place at our table by Buffahn!" He smiles and leads you back to the temple. The creek water, or the excitement seems to have sobered up Father Zyas. The town is closing up and there are few people in the streets. Those who pass by Father Zyas bow their heads in respect and say "Father" or some other honorific. They may glance your direction, but divert their eyes if you look back.
"ABOUT TIME!" Borag hollers when you return. His hands and that of the other Hanataz are full as they are helping set placements around a grand table. His demeanor softens when he sees Brother Liam looking rather weak and no ingredients. Father Zyas tells tales of your exploits and how you saved Brother Liam. Borag smiles proudly, but is aware of the embellishments Father Zyas adds, but doesn't say anything. You are all offered seats of honor at the feast near Father Zyas at the head of the table. The spread is amazing and you wonder what Brother Liam could have possibly have forgotten to make this any more fantastic. "Blessed be Buffahn and Fuffahn, Lords of Celebration, Drink and Joy. Blessed be our friends and family at this table. Let us partake in the fruits of todays labor and forget for a moment the hardships that have befallen us." Arcane DC 10: This is a common spell among the followers of Buffahn and Fuffahn that purifies and enhances the food you are about to eat. The constables will wait until everyone goes through the portal. He says in a stern voice"Hurry up these don't last long. Its a walk around to the front gate. Who knows what else is stirring outside these walls tonight. Strange things have been around lately. Its always a pleasure to have the Carnivalle in town, but I am not sure this is the best time for it." Father Zyas splashes some cold water on his face from the creek and slaps his cheeks. He looks at the party and says"Let's go lads back to yer boss." gaining a brief moment of sobriety. ![]()

I don't feel like hiking around the city walls at this time. I wouldn't suggest going up that trail either. The old stone circle up there has strange visitors at night. Ill restrain and escort this Fay'Aree into town. A little interrogation will clear this up. " ![]()

![]() It sounds like most are willing to go into the portal and in the interest of moving this along I will continue with that assumption. I feel I have given ample opportunity for individuals to post that wanted to. You enter the portal and find yourself on the outside of the city near a path that leads up a hillside to the north. Sparse brush and trees line the trail. The Fay'Aree is moving up the trail, slowly. What ever boost they used for speed before has faded and they appear fatigued. They look back now, clearly visible dragging brother Liam's limp body. You hear Father Zyas calling to you as you enter the portal, but his slurred speech is unintelligible. Fay'Aree (Fae) Language:
" You pursue us at your own peril blood touched filth!" The Fay'Aree is approx 30' away from the exit of the portal up a clear path that is about 3'wide to the north. To the south is the city wall, the east and west is a creek that runs parallel to the city wall. Round 5

![]() Praise be Master Astartes. I have worked as an exorcist in his holy crusade since I can remember. Once I had proven myself capable enough, the Inquisition sought me out. The Lord Inquisitor adds Father Zyas is very modest. It was hard to pry him from his congregation, but his ability as an exorcist is truly the gift of the God Emperor himself. Ordo Malleus has tried to steel him from me on more than one occasion. In fact I sometimes wonder if having him here was motivation for Ol'Ahmazzi to join us. |
