Hey folks, I should have a post up in the gameplay thread to move the story along at some point today if I can get meeting schedules and server goblins to cooperate.

Yeah, hop into the gameplay thread and have a look. We haven't really teamed up yet or anything so you have loads of freedom with how you want to present yourself.

Maybe tell us how you spent part of the day and conveniently arrive at a table with the other characters or something.

Ok, I put a post on the recruitment forum and someone submitted an Oracle that looked interesting. The player should be popping in to dot this thread.

I've also requested to have this campaign moved to my profile to take over ownership and we'll start moving along shortly.

Vanulf, I'm hoping to make a decision pretty quickly and we have a few strong candidates already. I'd say focus on wife, safe travel and hop into a different AP when you recover from GenCon.

Thanks for the responses so far. I'll see if I can answer the questions that have come up.

1. Am I set on cleric? - Doesn't have to e a cleric, more of a preference than a requirement for the buffs and heals and moral guidance.

2. Adding an Oracle in an arcane group - Might be okay - did I read your character sheet correctly that you have no 1st level spells? I don't have much experience with Oracles.

3. Cleric vs. nature themed caster - Doesn't absolutely have to be a cleric to fill the spot but it's preferred.

4. Torag or Desna - Either should work just fine. I was going to play a Cleric of Desna but I'm taking the GM reins now.

5. Changlings - Changeling could be interesting, I never looked it over before. Should be fine.


Our GM had to step away shortly after kicking off our ROTR PBP so we're shifting gears. I will take over as GM and we need one more player, preferably in the flavor of healy-dealy.

The characters are currently in Sandpoint and the Swallowtail Festival is just getting underway with some games and a feast. There has been minor interaction between characters so you're getting in at the ground floor. Seize this opportunity before time runs out!

Commitment: Posting at least 3x per week (probably more but sometimes people get busy). If you're going to be absent for a few days please communicate that to the group.

Falkin makes his way around the food vendors and piles his plate high. This is a celebration after all and it would be rude not to partake of the offerings so carefully prepared by the people of Sandpoint. He makes his way to an open seat and introduces himself to the folks nearby.

Good day and happy feasting. I'm Falkin Meddlefoot, pleasure to meet you. Oh, don't let me interrupt you mid chew there will be plenty of time to connect once we've filled our bellies with this fine fare.

When Sheriff Baylor announces the planned bonfire, Falkin lets out a pleased Mmm! nodding to those around the table and smiling as wide as his full mouth will allow. He has always enjoyed fireside festivities.

At the mention of the new cathedral, Falkin claps his hands to show support and laughs a bit as the man flamboyantly finishes his announcement.

I appreciate the help, brother. Follow the butterflies.
Falkin bows deeply and sets off in the direction of the beach first then will loop back toward town hall.

Along the way he'll continue singing off-key and offering guidance to random people as he goes.
While at the beach he'll see if he can find some other interesting shells, small pieces of driftwood, shells or other things that might catch his eye.

Surprised by the return of the cheek pinch, Falkin chuckles.
It's a pleasure and an honor to meet you, Denialan, my name is Falkin Meddlefoot. Judging by your interesting accent and choice of clothing I'm going to guess you have interesting stories from the road. I would very much like to hear of your travels if you will be staying in Sandpoint after the festival. If it is meant to be, Desna will see to it.

Falkin makes his way around the town square feeling an overwhelming sense of joy and gratitude for the beautiful weather, the gathering of people to celebrate Swallowtail festival and the opening of the cathedral. As he goes he'll be singing songs.

"What a glorious day the gods have blessed us with! Swallowtail festival is such a lovely holiday and I am so happy to be in Sandpoint for this lovely occasion."

Falkin is interested in the scavenger hunt as that will likely allow him to cross paths with many people as he makes his way around town looking for items on the list. Along the way he'll also aid other participants in the scavenger hunt, especially if there is a obvious underdog.

Passing by the game stalls he begins randomly picking people who are preparing to play a game and offers a small blessing in the name of Desna. Casting guidance on willing recipients

"May Lady Luck kiss your cheek as you participate in these fine festivities today." He'll give a little pinch on the cheek of the (willing) participant to seal the deal. "...And if Lady Luck guides many coin to your purse perhaps I will be so lucky to find drink in my cup later." He says with a wink and a smile.

He takes note of the weary Varisian traveler placing her bet at the dragon races.
"Greetings stranger, from a stranger. I sense the lady of luck and travel already smiles on you but the butterflies have lead me in your direction. If you don't mind, I offer you a small blessing in her name."
If she agrees, he'll cast guidance, if not he'll smile and bow. In either case, he says "Follow the butterflies, traveler and should our paths cross again let us share stories and songs."

Then he heads off looking for other items on the scavenger hunt list.

Hey all, happy to be on the team.
I'll get Falkin's equipment and spells all sorted over the next 24 hours.


Here's a bit more of Falkin's backstory:

backstory:

Appearance: 28 year old halfling male standing 3'2" tall with shoulder length curly red hair and blue eyes.

Falkin grew up as a member of a Varisian caravan with his parents and two younger brothers. As a halfling child raised among human children Falkin began feeling inadequate when the human children began growing in strength and height. Acceptance became a focal point for Falkin and he worked very hard to win the favor of those around him, constantly lending a hand whenever he found the opportunity, invited or not. He continues to seek the acceptance of those who exhibit great strength and charisma.
When he was twenty (six years ago) a cleric of Desna joined the caravan and Falkin became deeply interested in the goddess and felt the call to become a member of the clergy.
Hearing about the upcoming dedication of a new temple to Desna, Falkin has made his way to Sandpoint to celebrate the occasion.

Falkin's parents were raised as slaves under the ownership of Luca Silanus, a textiles merchant in Cheliax. His father, Brepp was a wainwright turned coachman and his mother Doerla was trained as a seamstress. Over the course of several years the two had established a romantic relationship.
The halflings were given to Luca's oldest daughter Floria as a gift during an arranged marriage to Gianus Merula the son of another wealthy merchant. Within the first year of their marriage, Gianus became abusive causing Floria to run away bringing Brepp, Doerla and a few other staff members while Gianus was away on business. Floria took them to Magnimar and gave each of them a small sack of gold to start their lives as free people before she booked passage to Andoran to start her own life.
Brepp and Doerela became enamored with the lifestyle of Varisian nomads and began travelling with a caravan experiencing new sights around Varisia and giving birth to three sons, Falkin, Lind and Fen.

Falkin grew up traveling with a Varisian caravan and embraced the teachings of Desna who seemed to smile on him, enhancing his good luck. (more to come when I have some time to type it up)
