Cole lets out a sigh, "I'm in."
Cole nonchalantly acknowledged the shifty looking man, "Nice to meet ya."
"The Doc was easier on the eyes," Cole adds wistfully.
Ephraim leaned against the wall and nodded to his old companions. He silently waited for the others to begin with the introductions. However, he lets out a laugh at Emilyene's request for her hydro-spanner back.
When there was a lull in the conversation he hastily introduced himself to the newcomers, "I'm Epharaim Cole."
Happy Thanksgiving to those in the USA. Everyone else Happy Thursday!
That sounds like an option.
I asked around,no takers.
We should probably recruit then. I'll put point into:
pilot 1->2
not sure about the other one yet.
Do we need a Doctor/Scientist?
Sounds good, I'm fine going with three but wouldn't cry if we recruited another.
I'm up for it. We may have to tweak our PCs going forward. Also, I'm fine going forward with 3 if that is what happens.
I will be on the road Tuesday – Thursday please feel free to bot me as necessary. I do not foresee having any problems posting. However, tomorrow is going to be an 18 hour day and I might just hit the sack when I get to my hotel.
"Just as important what can we do about it?" Cole asks his companions.
Cole quickly follows Marcus's remarks, "I'm not sure your assessment is correct Marcus." He paces and continues, "If this AI was in control of the base why did it refer to it as a hidden base? He shakes his head as he continues pacing, "No, I don't think it knew about the base before we arrived. Something we did drew the AI's notice." He stops and looks at the others, "The question is why destroy the hidden base, what was there that need to be destroyed?"
"What the ..." Cole exclaims. As the ground begins to shake he looks to his companions with a grin, "I think our quarantine is over."
He moves over to the door to see if it will open as he asks his companions, "What do you make of that message?" Immediately followed by, "What did we do?"
Cole scowls at Emilyene again as heads to the decontamination wing, "Ready as I'll ever be."
Cole gives Emilyene a look as he responds, "Clear, landing pad 13." He takes the ship toward the landing bay.
Pilot: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 2 = 12
Cole smiles at Flints remarks, Get in line buddy. Then he focuses his attention on flying this relic.
Jasmine was our pilot but she hasn't posted in a bit so I took the controls.
"I'm not concerned about the researchers," Cole asserts. "But something released those beasties which, conveniently I might add, forced us to this ship." He looks around at his companions, "We might want to ask ourselves why." He shrugs his shoulders, "I wouldn't inject anyone with anything until we've analysed it more thoroughly."
"Are we sure we can trust the logs on the computer," Cole asks.
Cole take a second to familiarize himself with the controls and curse to himself, Never was very comfortable with this. "You all better strap yourselves in its gonna be a bumpy ride," he cautions.
Pilot: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2) + 2 = 5
"Good point," Cole concedes to Marcus. " But are you certain it was this experiment that destroyed the base? Also, if we don't get these supplies back to Thoth they wouldn't have much of a future anyway."
Ephraim sit down in the co-pilots chair and starts the engines. "Jasmine, I could use a hand here," he yells. Anxiously he considers, "Is everyone on board?"
Pilot (small craft): 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 2) + 2 = 5 to start the engines
"Asteroids! I hope starshine isn't code for plague," Cole hopes.
"Marcus can we rig this base to explode and can we unload this starshine before those creatures break through," Cole asks the soldier.
Cole quickly hops into one of the loaders and begins to load some of supplies onto the ship.
Medic, Flint: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 5) + 1 = 11
Medic, Marcus: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3) + 1 = 6
Cole hastily examines Marcus and Flint trying to quickly treat their wounds. He goes to work and tells Marcus, "Quit you whining."
He consoles Flint, "I can treat your wound but we're going to have to patch that suit of yours too."
Cole moves over toward his wounded team members and tries to assess their wounds. "Stay still," he cautions Marcus.
Medic: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 3) + 1 = 5
Cole yells to Marcus and Flint, "Run!" He levels his weapon at the door ready to shoot if anything comes through after Marcus and Flint.
Sounds reasonable, let's go with it.
Looking for a way to shut the door Cole notice that the creatures are about to attack the rear guard. He lifts up his weapon and aims, "Hurry!"
Gun combat: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6) + 1 = 8
Damage: 3d6 - 3 ⇒ (5, 5, 1) - 3 = 8
All, I am going to be on the road for the next three days and won't be able to post until late in the evenings eastern time.
"Hurry in here," Cole directs as he makes his way into the hanger. Looking around frantically he suggests, "May we can take refuge in the ship?"
Cole quickly moves to the next door and tries to open it, "Emilyene, we've got another door ahead."
Gun drawn Cole makes his way into the dark and musty room his flash light lighting the way before him. "Move," he advises the others."
"Blast them Marcus," Cole yells as he steps forward aiming his snub gun at the approaching hoard.
Gun Combat: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 5) + 2 = 9
Damage: 3d6 - 3 ⇒ (5, 4, 2) - 3 = 8
"Lets stop gawking and keep moving,"Cole encourages his companions. "Or we can wait here and pick them off as they try to make it down the ladder," he offers as he begins to walk away.
Okay thanks for the update!
Hearing Flint Ephraim moves toward the Generator room. He looks behind him and yells, "Come on!"
Cole steps next to Emilyene calmly raises his arm straight out from his body. he sights his pistol aiming at one of the charging creatures. "Stay close," he warns Emilyene.
Pistol, Snub: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 2 = 11
damage: 3d6 - 3 ⇒ (5, 3, 5) - 3 = 10
Listening to Marcus's remarks about the crashing sounds Cole mockingly agrees,Yep, sounds real promising." He hurriedly follows Marcus.
"Roger that," Cole responds as he removes his weapon from its holster. He looks at the weapon suspiciously what good are you against a virus?
Ephraim looks into the room with the lush vegetation and is filled with trepidation, I wish we didn't have to go back in there.
He hesitates and asks, "Marcus are you on point?"
While Flint and Cole struggle with the door he calls out, "We could use a hand here."
"Okay Jasmine lets see what we can do," Cole says as he moves over to the doors andtrys to muscle the door open with a small crowbar.
When the are in position he grunts, "Push!"
