Eowithe breathes sharply in as she sees the implements of torture arrayed around the room. She hums happily as she runs a finger along the utilitarian torturer's table, stopping at the nearby table arrayed with tools. Picking up a wicked looking knife, she wonders aloud, "I haven't seen this kind before...hmmm, a flaying knife perhaps..."

Still holding the blade delicately between two fingers, she watches from behind as Tawg reveals the hidden room, exclaiming, "Ingenious!".

She ponders the young man's questions for a moment, then answers, slowing twirling the knife so that it catches the light from the lantern, "For the moment, I believe, we are your Masters and Mistresses. Govern yourself accordingly. "

AS the others tend to Sarela and Tawg's wounds, Eowtihe peers through the holes in the floor, evaluating if it was practical to pour oil down below to finish the creature off.

She shrugs, a creature cowering and hiding , was no longer a threat.

She reads the words on the next door and smiles, "Indeed, " nodding at the Araton's words, "Sometimes the softest touch is the most painful! "

Shall we?" she asks no one in particular, and advances towards the next door, vigilant for any suprises.

Yeah kind of breaks the immersion if two or three of the character decide to leave and are conviently replaced by a oouple others who just "happen" to be in the next room :D

I guess this one wasn't meant to be, Bigrin. Had fun while it lasted. I dig Eowithe so I'll revert her back to level 1 and maybe use her again.

Eowithe kneels and unslings her crossbow and fires a bolt at the ant being accosted by Judah's "Friend".

Her face set in determination as one of the insects twitched and died, Eowithe sets her sights on the next.

Growing a bit concerned, Eowithe grits her teeth and continues her assault on the now wounded ant.

Cursing her back luck, Eowithe regains her balance and once again attempts to smash the ant with her morning star

Momentarily startled by the appearance of the large insect, Eowithe quickly presses her attack.

Swinging her morningstar in a mighty arc, she brings in down upon the creature's tough exoskeleton.

Eowithe edges past the two worriers in to the room, trying to get a look into one of the holes.

"Hmmm, bats and fish for spider pets? Or is there something bigger down there?" Eowithe says.

She peers over the edge of the pillar to see if there is any indication of a larger creature, scratches, gouges etc.

Eowithe whips her morningstar around, dislodging some spider viscera onto the ground.

"Yes...the bridge."

Eowithe grimaces as the hissing monstrosity launched itself at her. Pushing it away with her shield , she gathers her strength then swings her morningstar .

Shaking her head a bit at the mage's ill-advised experimentation, Eowithe steps forward and strikes at one of the spiders with her morningstar.

Eowithe peers down into the water, trying to see any evidence of anything alive.

Eowithe rolls her shoulders, hefts her shield and morningstar, gives a look to Judah and Talius, then follows Alanthian into the secret passage.

Seeing Alanthian eyeing the spiral staircase, Eowithe wave her hand and says "Lead the way , my friend. However, do you wish to use this on that nasty acid burn?" holding out the cure potion.

I recommended more exploration; waiting on Alanthian as well :)

Grinning at Turan, Eowithe says "I meant creatures in the broader sense, but your suggestion is an excellent one! However, smoke travels upward, we may risk alerting those above us if these webs smolder too much."

Standing up from her combat ready crouch, Eowithe says to the other "Excellently done , again!"

Turning to Alanthian, "If you don't mind, it would be reassuring knowing no more of these creatures remained."

Eowithe unceremoniously steps over the corpses of the first two spider, and moved forward to strike at the new arrivals.

Using the momemtum of her first strike, Eowithe spins around, her morningstar aimed at the fat abdomen of the second spider.

Eowithe lunges forward with Turan , targetting the other spider threatening Alanthian.

With a wry glance at Talius and Judah , Eowith says "You two guard our rear...quietly." with a pointed stare at Talius. Turning she joins Turan in following Alanthian.

"Let us advance with caution, those "little" ones " indicating the acidic remains with a nod "may have a "mommy". " Eowithe says, reloading her crossbow.

I made my vote in gameplay....check out current area to prevent attacks from rear.

Eowithe stands, abandoning her bolt to the creature's innards "Quiet you two!" she says quietly "I suggest we ensure this level is clear of threats before ascending. Don't want anything or anybody coming up behind us."

"If my memory serves, these are large amoebas, not quite as dangerous as an ooze or slime, but keep your guard up." Eowithe says as she fires her crossbow at the nearest creature.

Eowithe steps forward to s20 so she can get a better look.
Frowning, she tries to remember if she read about such things in her study a Desna's temple.

Once on solid ground again, Eowithe unslings her crossbow and crouches near the edge of the water. Holding the skiff against the shore, she steadies it as the others disembark.

Waiting for Alanthian to advance a bit she follows. Once beyond a point where light would be seen from outside, she waits for Alanthian to return.

i also have a hooded lanter and 5 sunrods.

Eowithe made her goodbyes then retired to her chambers. There she stripped off her armour and clothes soiled by Natalya's sewery hideout.

After cleaning herself as best as she could at the basin in her room, she clothed herself in clean clothes and took her dirty equipment out to the lodge's laundry area in the kitchen. After a few hours, she was satisfied that most if not all of the stink had been removed.

Hanging the equipment above the fire in her room, Eowithe knelt by the window and spent at least an hour clearing her mind and settling her thoughts before finally easing herself into bed; the day's injuries though healed were still somewhat sore.

She rose with the dawn and spent a few quiet moments praying to Desna. Then dressing herself in the now dry equipment, went to the common room for some breakfast.

Entering just as Talius finished his soliloquy, she adds "Morning to you all. Talius' suggestion is excellent, let us break bread and share our stories. Familiarity breeds companionship.".

I would love to accompany you, Talius , but after today's events I need a night to recover. Let us meet back here tomorrow afternoon. Sheila, could we inconvience you with the small but important matter of procuring two water-worthy rowboats for our excursion to the Crow?"

Can't remember if we have quarters here at the Pathfinder lodge. If so, that's where Eowithe will go to rest for the night. Otherwise, she'll find a nearby inn."

"Yes, I concur. It presents the best chance of success, I believe." Eowithe says. She then turn to Judah. "What was that you said? Just after I mentioned that the other part of the artifact was supposedly in the Crows? "It's There", I believe it was....explain."

"I would hear what our erstwhile criminal has to say as well."

Eowithe casts a concerned glance at Judah, then smiles and says "I'll repeat for the late-comer. Sheila here had taken myself, Alanthian and 3 others on to assist in finding one Natalya, an often-times agent for the Pathfinders. It became known to Sheila that Natalya may have found a Thassionian artifact, but she had gone to ground. Our task was to find her. We did, but along the way we lost 2 of our comrades and a third bowed out of further participation. Along with Natalya was the artifact now in Sheila's hand. Our task is to find the next piece...apparently in the Crows"

Eowithe notices the last to arrive and calls out "Welcome, Alanthanian and I were just bringing these two up to date on our escapade until now. Pleas join us !"

Eowithe greets the newcomers warmly "Well met Talius, Turan!" she says with a slight bow "I am Eowithe Mournegrym, Inquisitor of Desna.
We seek an artifact of Thassilon, broken into bits. Alanthian and I have found the first part, hopefully you're willing to help us find the others."

Eowithe's eyes widen as the artifact is revealed, her smile widening at Sheila's obvious excitement.

Listening to her explanation and vision, Eowithe's smile grows even wider "I for one would be hard pressed not to volunteer for such an importance task." she then frowns "We are a little undermanned though, Alanthian and I are capable, just not suicidal. Are there any more Pathfinders that could accompany us?"

Eowithe approaches quietly, looking over Sheila's shoulder...breath held in anticipation as the Pathfinder waited to reveal the artifact.

Eowithe gratefully takes enough of the potions to heal her wounds, sighing in relief. She then stands still as Marcus mends a tear in her tunic and removes the stink of battle from her armor.

"Thank you , Marcus." she says, then turns to Sheila "Natalya was a tough nut to crack, even when I revealed that we were with the Pathfinders. Why do you think she fought on?"

Placing a hand on Pakak's shoulder, Eowithe says "I could not have asked for a more stalwart companion, Pakak. Your deeds and word do you honor." She smiles at the half-orc , then shoulders under Natalya's left arm and lifts.

Sorry to see you go Pakak, it was fun.
