Description:
Derek "Boomer" Ratcher is a ranger/scout with whatever branch of
Earth military would be appropriate. He looks like your typical
jarhead, with a square jaw, short cropped hair, clean-shaven
chin, chiseled nose, and blue eyes that are often delivering a
penetrating stare.

Personality:
Boomer is serious all the time. He takes himself seriously, his
job seriously, and any situation that he's in seriously. He gets
annoyed when other people joke around. Others sometimes find him
a bit dull. The connsumate soldier, he makes sure that his
battlesuit and weapons are in good condition. He's not an officer
and knows it, so leaves strategic and mission goal decisions to
those who outrank him. When told to get a job done, however, he
gets it done.

Background:

Notes:
Boomer's signature battlesuit was issued to him upon his
promotion to Sergeant and his recruitment into the expeditionary
force (or whatever one would call a rangers-type
sorta-special-ops space marine outfit for Earth). He keeps the
surface in gleaming condition between jobs. The paint job on it
is standard for his unit's uniform, customized with his own rank
insignia and his callsign (Boomer).

10 points of signature gear gives up to 250,000cr worth of gear,
for 50,000cr starting wealth. The suit is 200,000 and the helmet
is 10,000. I figure the other 40,000 will more than cover any
optional extras I've put on to it. (The paramedic swarm is
$6,000, and is probably the single most expensive optional
extra.)

It's a Scout Battlesuit, granting Lifting and Striking ST +10,
Basic Move +4, and Super Jump 3. It has DR 150 for the torso and
skull.

Suit armor weight does not count as encumbrance when the suit is
powered up (though the suit's 20lb helmet does). It's powered by
an integral radiothermal generator that will last 10 years.

Superconducting electromagnetic armor doubles suit's DR vs.
shaped-charge warheads (10 uses from a D cell).

Helmet includes a filter mask, inertial compass, hearing
protection, hyperspectral visor, small laser comm, medium radio,
chemsniffer, deceptive radar jammer, and a small genius computer
(Complexity 8). Both communicators have secure encryption (UT p.
47) built in, and the laser has quantum encryption built in.

Body of suit includes biomedical sensors, trauma maintenance,
provisions dispensor with a week's provisions, tacitcal ESM,
infrared cloaking, radar stealth.

The suit has two sets of Microbot Arteries (UT 189), one with a
repair swarm, one with a paramedic swarm.

The boots have magnetized plates.

When sealed, it provides climate control from -459F to 500F,
pressure support up to 10atm, radiation PF 5, and vacuum support.
It has two large air tanks with a 72-hour air supply.

I've assumed that software that grants 4 character points (e.g.
for a skill) is a Complexity 5 program ($100). I based this on
the fact that a Software Tool that gives you a +1 bonus is
Complexity 5 for average, hard, or very hard skills. 4 character
points is generally what you need to increase a skill by +1.
