I'll attempt to contact my sources for more information on Mick and if this was mob action or freelance.

Since it's mob there's two ways to get info from them or their enemies. Assuming it is mob and not just Mick doing a freelance favor. Let's do a little discrete questioning. I still have a few contacts on that side of the street. We can phrase it like we are working on something and want to make sure we're not stepping on any toes, on one side and looking to spoke some wheels on the other we'll just have to be careful.

So far so good, see if you can calm her fears, suggest a face to face meet so she can see for her self we mean no harm to either Billy or her.

Graul's order makes sense to me. I say we go in fairly low key, get a feeling of how the ladies feel about Billy first then play off of that. If there is concern for him stress we intend Billy no harm and that we just want to make sure he is okay.

Given the building Billy was living in and the gang he did business with lets first try to determine their feelings about metas. It may be best if Graul and I fade into the backgroud as much as possible just keep our eyes and ears open.

What do we have in the way of surveillance gear? Maybe we should watch remotely or even place a bug or tracer to watch what happens when we leave.

I don't want consecutive days of violence if we can avoid it both the boss and Lonestar would be difficult to smooth over.

Lake Washington looks like it would be a waste of time. I say lets check either the hotels or the co-star.

Progress Report 1

Billable Hours = 4 investigators @ 9 Hours
Expenses = informant fees 200, equipment usage 50.00, vehicle repairs 400.00, Information search services 6 hours @ rate.

After having met with the client it was decided the best course of action was to start at the search subjects last know whereabouts. We proceeded to the Newcastle neighborhood. The subjects building was found. The building itself was apparently under the "protection" of a local gang the Lycans. We proceeded to gain entrance through negotiation with the building superintendent on the pretense that we had papers to serve to one of his tenants.

Upon gaining access to the building we climbed up to apartment 306 as the elevators were out of service. There had been recent violence on the floor as indicated by bullet holes in the wall. We continued cautiously to the apartment.

The superintendent gave us access to the apartment but upon opening the door we found the apartment occupied by members of a the Lycans. These virulently anti-meta gang members were not predisposed to conversation and shots were traded resulting in the gang members being neutralized.

We then proceeded to search the apartment for any clues that could forward our search when we were notified that our transportation was being vandalized and there were more gang members entering the building.

In the meantime one of the detectives was canvasing the neighbors to gain further information on earlier events.

The other gang members attempted to block our exit from the premises and an altercation ensued with only minor injuries to the investigators. However Lonestar was called and we had to spend time with them smoothing things over and misdirecting in order to maintain the confidentiality of our client.

The result of our first day of investigations were:

The search subject was involved in an altercation with members of the Lycan gang over monies owing, in the course of the altercation shots were fired and the subject fled the scene.

Members of the gang then took up residence in the apartment in the hopes that the subject would return, which had not yet happened.

We were given a few additional leads which we will now follow up on, the results of these further leads will be reported in the next progress report.

We can always hope- and I don't think it would take as long for the Star to get there so diplomacy is probably best. - I'm right behind you.

If we are going to check the Billy's place over let's make it quick. We might be able to smooth things over, but in this neighborhood Lonestar are likely to come in hard and ask questions later.

I head back to Billy's Apt and begin a search.

sorry about lack of posts been one heck of a work week - budget season

If we can give the apartment a good search we'll at least be more comfortable in thinking we have not missed anything. It would not be worth another fire fight though, and we should determine the status of the van, I don't fancy walking back through this neighborhood, damage my be minor.

Quickly check if there is a fire extinguisher. if there is grab it. depending on the numbers I'll either use it in the hall or stairwell to obscure vision of one of the groups. If no extinguisher go back to the stairwell and lay down cover fire to prevent that route being cut off. If need be we can always go up.

By the numbers I saw coming into the building and the sound I hear coming up the stairwell does it sound like a lot or a few of them in this stairwell? is there a fire extinguisher near by?

What is the lay out of the hall? How wide, next closest door? Do the sounds seem to be still a floor or two down or on the landing of this floor?

To Graul and Rick - "Hoss, is handling the car alarm, but we have more company coming. Might be a good idea to retreat for now and come back later, will be tough to get anything here if the place is completely trashed in a fire fight. I suggest we use one of the fire escapes. I have these two PDAs we might get some info out of but is beyond my area of expertise."

I laugh "you take a job in this neighborhood and you didn't the get nuyen up front? - hun find another line of work you'll be a corpse inside a week at this rate"

Grab the PDA's & weapons <note I have not given back the mag key>. "Given the situation I suggest we head out. and look at what we've got. but I am open to other ideas."

Okay hun just put your clothes on and have a seat. We'll be through here shortly and you can be on your way. - proceed to search the apartment looking for personal papers - possible hiding spots for data chips etc. <is there a window looking out toward where our van would be?>

I turn to the woman in a comforting tone of voice " Don't worry we wont hurt you. They had a choice, and made the wrong one." pointing to the downed men. "Now who are you and, while it is obvious what you were doing here, do you know this person?" showing her the picture of Billy. Trusting the others to watch my back.

Move into room assessing for threats. I'll check the first ganger kicking away the weapon and ensuring he is not a threat I assume Hoss does the same with the second. Call Rick & Graul into the apt, ensuring they grab the super, to scan for other threats. Once I am sure there is no immediate danger calm down Miguel and offer to have Rick rough him up a bit so it looks like we forced him - if he wants. Begin a professional search of the apartment. I ask Rick to question Miguel about the last fire fight in the apartment.

Now now we don't want to rent but i have some papers to serve and I figured it would be less work for you if you just let us in to do our job and a few Nuyen in your pocket as opposed to the extra work of having to replace a door and other repairs but either way works for me. What do you say.

Flash Leo see if he can find plans for the building. In the meantime look the building over are there fire escapes, do the buildings next door join this building or are there alleys? If they join this building would they be easier to access and go to the roof and access this building from there?

Gentlemen I suggest we get inside before those fine example of Seattle youth return with real trouble. Who can crack this? An old fashioned key lock I can handle but I don't have the equipment for a mag lock, anyone?

Makes sense to me, easier to avoid trouble if you act like you belong there and you're not worth the risk.

Enoch takes a moment to digest this. - Hoss since we're working together for the first time I appreciate that and only fair I tell you about me. I worked vice, I have seen both the best and worst in people but I still generally take the positive view. I was good at my job, but I was an investigator not tactical or special weapons.

I know my limitations, I'm good with people, notice things and can put the pieces together. I try to avoid having it hit the fan but if it does I can handle myself and wont crack under pressure but I'm no F@#4g robocop. At the end of the day if we're still standing I'm happy. If there is someone we need alive I'll let you know, but bottom line the team is more important than the info.

Now I'm assuming we are all competent at what we do, and if it hits the fan we are more important than they are.

Okay with that info a change in plans - looks like we should stick together given the problems in the neighborhood. I'd say hit the apartment first. Then Newcastle, not that I think we'll get much there, just being thorough.

Since it is a potential missing persons - for all we know he is simply avoiding his sister - though my gut tells me he's not.

My suggestion is that we start with both Billy's apartment and, the Newcastle rehab place he spent time at. Let's find out if he had any regular visitors, though those places tend to protect their client's and it may be difficult getting any info from them.

His apartment will probably be easier to access. I'd recommend that we split into two teams for the preliminary info gather. Graul and one of us hit the apartment, and see if there is any info astral or real that can be gathered, and the other two attempt to get some info from Newcastle.

Then we can get back together and see which will seem to give us the better leads, and go from there. Let's see if we can get Leo to get us any info on Newcastle other than what they put out there. - but I'm open to other ideas.

I sit back thinking - Baron wants us to milk this but if the kid is in danger we wont have a lot of time, if he's okay we'll have time to pad the bill later.
