Cloistered cleric felt a little 'soft' for the setting of semi-tribal folk living on a frontier - but maybe I'm reading too much into the name. I've not played Pathfinder 2e before. To be honest it feels very heavy and seems to have a few build-traps. I tried building a bard initially and couldn't get it to feel right on paper (why are there so many things that tell you that you can use x skill for y, why would I be a bard without diplomacy anyway?), a decade ago I would have found it great being able to tinker with builds for hours, but maybe I'm just getting a bit slow in my old age. Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying the game, but for all it's flexibility it feels like pf2e is pretty restrictive.
I'm pretty much only checking once or twice a day in an evening, I admit it's sometimes a little frustrating when folks have already posted in response to something you'd have liked to weigh in on, but that's pbp (and with my shy quiet persona it's often tabletop as well lol). Don't really know what you can do about it. You'll be missed, though.
Embry enjoys the systematic stripping of animal flesh and hides, thanking the beast for it's gifts and ensuring nothing is wasted. The Tusk rarely had time for one task or another to be men's or women's work and Pakano was missing a valuable lesson. She smirks at Miriani's tale and looks around to see if Pakano is listening as he would doubtless be angry if he were. Not dwelling on it she delights in the children's interest. "One day you too may take up the bow, spear or blade and bring home your own mighty beast to feast upon."
Embry winces as she see's Pakano's body crumple underfoot, with the moose currently distracted by Yse's Watcher Embry calls upon Sister Cinder to heal Pakano's wounds, hoping fervently that he has the good sense to get out of the way, embarrassing himself this way may teach him some humility... or may just have him double down on bravado.
Not sure if the adventure/GM is tracking such things but Embry's trying to avoid using fire on a hunt in case it damages the hide - Miriani doesn't seem to have the same concerns (lol). Not doing a great deal this round, though she will rush in if Pakano get's trampled next round. Also I have realised I've somehow forgotten to pick up a shield, despite having the shield block feat. Guess Embry just didn't think it appropriate to bring on a hunt. Also if I do have an action left I'll throw a Guidance at Hurik.
Embry curses Pakano for a fool, she almost moves to go assist him, but that would just open her up to be trampled, better to draw it's attention.
"Do not worry Hurik, Pakano may have found the beast, but alone any of us would fail. Our strength is our numbers and our support of each other." Embry smiles at Hurik and the group. She considers the area "Yes, let us make this side inhospitable while Thrask and the others do the same across the way. Sadly my offensive magic is that of flame, and I'd rather not char the hide if we can use it."
Fair enough, some DM's are a little more flexible when it comes to aiding/guidance etc. on pbp with folks posting at different times. For future reference Embry will cast guidance before any applicable rolls in situations where time isn't too much of a factor (i.e. most of the time outside of combat).
Embry nods at Wipa and makes ready, giving her old Scimitar a test swing - it had been passed down from priest to priest, nicked, worn and re-sharpened many times, her sling tucked into her belt, not really suitable to take down the sort of beast they'd be looking for, but her role was support. She'd never really got used to the leather she wore, she'd rather be in robes or soft furs, but it's better than risking being gored out in the wilds. Checking the straps on her back so they didn't fail on the march she set off across to the big rock. Smiling at her companions.
Embry keeps Pakanu at arms length, while she'll openly say it's water under the bridge, as a less physical child she was lorded over by him.
Wipa is viewed with respect and since her pregnancy is far along, she is also professionally interested with her. She tries to keep an open ear, as Wipa's luck seems to have failed lately. Embry get's on well with Satu, they both enjoy stories and while she's built up over the last few years, neither of them are physically imposing. She'll have a soft spot for Tharshk, despite being of similar age Embry considers the various foundlings as part of her domain and while he's a little savage, unlike Hurik he doesn't seem to have a darkness within. Embry is part of Musk Ox House, and has adopted the Bighorn Sheep as her personal icon. Not as imposing as the might Musk Ox or Saber Tooth, but stubborn and it's wool vital to the survival of the Tusk.
Hi everyone. Not played PF2 before, so be gentle with me.
She'll at least present a friendly face to everyone and even give the morally dubious the benefit of the doubt. She'll make an effort to foster a friendship with Hurik, she see's him as a good man who has a problem and views it as her personal duty to make sure he doesn't let his rage consume him. Yse is a rival, Embry keeps it friendly, but they somewhat sit in the same niche and while she'd never work against anyone in the Broken Tusk, she'd secretly enjoy it if Yse gets taken down a peg... |
